Rho Thum

With pick and chisel the dwarves have carved out a kingdom to last through the ages. Their mountain fortresses have stood untarnished by time and troubles as dwarves and gnomes busily dig out their subterranean cities. The great halls and mines of Rho Thum have stood since shortly after the fall of Zyleria with its capital uncaptured for 1000 years. Gold and iron run deep into the highland keeps of Rho Thum providing treasure to fund their ambitious projects. The dwarves may have been preparing for the next great war for a millennium, as bolstering their lands with defenses and forts to withstand an apocalypse is a constant project.
Those defenses may indeed be tested if Naggarith sets its sights on the dwarves as many have predicted. The East Gate stands in defense of the southern approach but Moggri is vulnerable to a naval invasion if Castra does not come to their defense. And with the empire busy with a war of their own it seems the only hope for aid is from Valenor.
King Torak Ironhelm has done much to advance his domain. Some called him mad with his obsession with ambitious war machines and impenetrable fortresses. However, what once seemed like paranoia looks to be more like foresight. Great inventions such as the cannon have come from the craftsmen and inventors of Rho Thum. The expense of maintaining these defenses and funding the development of new technologies surely has cost Rho Thum dearly, but the dwarves are wise and tough, and will stubbornly persist against all odds.
