Itza

Deep within the Lost Jungle are a secluded people who have thrived in the lush rainforests of an ancient kingdom. Itza stands as a relic from the past whose history is even more mysterious than its culture. Practices of sacrificial ceremonies and beast taming are among a few things that set this land apart from the rest of Oros. Devout priests hold great power in the cities calling worship to ancient gods. Itza is home to the Yuan-Ti and Aarakocra among other exotic creatures and races. Beasts the size of warships roam the jungle in this inhospitable land.
From the few who have visited this kingdom and survived to speak about it, it seems they may have existed longer than was thought possible. In a move of territorial expansion by Castra, Itza was invaded 4 years ago. The holy city of Lustria was taken in the first weeks of this campaign but since then the tides have turned. Itza was vastly underestimated. In unfamiliar terrain and against hordes of massive beasts, Castra has been stopped dead in its tracks.
The jungle is nearly untraversable and people who enter simply vanish and are never seen from again. With all these things considered it begs the question... Why does Castra continue this futile war? Many enterprising adventurers have also pondered this, forging expedition into the secrets that lay within the trees.
