The Paladin Order of Atlantis

The Paladin Order of Atlantis is an organization meant to enforce the virtues of their divine patron Baldur and the will of the High King of Atlantis anywhere in Atlantis and Midgard.  It is comprised of 7 members selected from the most virtuous and talented knights from the 7 major houses of Atlantis. On top of being great warriors, each Paladin has a specialty and embodies one of the 7 major virtues of Baldur.
All 7 Paladins seat on the High Council of Atlantis alongside the High King, the Archmages and the representatives from the 7 major houses.
They are highly regarded by all Atlanteans and are feared and respected by all inhabitants of Midgard. Every Paladin must have a symbiotic relationship with their mount and mentor : an ancient and very wise dragon that guides them through their journey of virtue.
Since Atlantis is never at war and possesses a great deal of powerful organizations designed to protect its people and territory from savage threats coming from the other continents of Midgard, the Paladins are rarely deployed in battle and so their role has been mainly ceremonial for some time.
A notable recent action of one Paladin is the destruction of King Jorm of Skandi's fleet that sought to colonize a part of the continent to the south-west where the World-Tree stands.
A Paladin (disguised as a monk) participated in the Grey Wizard's Quest to destroy the Drakuul and successfully banished it back to Helheim at the cost of his own life. Unfortunately, his action allowed Jorm to take over the Drakuul's power as he climbed back to Midgard through the Drakuul's connection to Helheim and Loki.
The Order was destroyed and all Paladins fell to Jorm's vengeance in his invasion of Atlantis. The leader of the Order was the last man standing before Jorm at the Final Battle of Mount Olympus at the heart of Atlantis.
Jorm tortured the last Paladin in order to summon Baldur from Asgard. Thus fell the mightiest of orders on Midgard.
