Sunagakure

The hidden sand village, Sunagakure is the capital village of the land of wind and is known for its vast deserts and its many undeground caverns, though the environment is harsh there are many types of creatures who live here and all of them are dangerous. For as long as history can recall the Jishaku clan have ruled it, the first Kazekage was Kazuya Jishaku who founded Sunagakure in the name of his father, Gaara Jishaku, who lost his life battling Isobu Terumi of the seven swordsmen of the mist during Maeko's conquest of the mainland. Gaara had dreamed of uniting the tribes and villages together but many of them refused, choosing to act of their own accord rather than working with one another, though he fought many battles and saved many villages it wasn't until the battle in which he lost his life that they were willing to unite. Gaara was an only child and though his life was harsh he perservered through all adversity, fighting the beasts of the land and trading materials with the many places he visited. Gaara was known for his kindness as well as his skill and worked to help the tribes and villages he found from any issues they had, when he heard of Kirigakure's forces attacking the innocent he would fight against them, inspiring the villagers to do the same.   Kazuya used his ability to manipulate sand to his advantage and just like his father whom he inherited the ability from he was able to control much of the very enviornment they lived in. Kazuya was the second of Gaara's 3 children, his elder brother Hideki Jishaku was known to be a master manipulator and a puppeteer of extreme skill, and his younger sister Akari, was known for her abilities with fuinjutsu, weaponry and magic. Though the three of them had widely different strengths they were each considered formidable enemies and due to their close bond the three would often be spotted near one another when not on active duty. Kazuya would be chosen as the first Kazekage when he was in the prime of his youth, using his powers to create many defenses, buildings and walls to ensure the nation was well protected. Upon being chosen as Kazekage, Kazuya would have the Gaza Pyramid and the great glass buddah commisioned as signs of unity and glory to the nation, both sites would be considered sacred monuments for the nation and would be protected from harm, the Gaza Pyramid would be protected by the head of religious affairs, the great glass buddah would be protected by the nation's military. With these monuments built to unite the land and the nation working together to build a more powerful military the nation would prosper and grow rapidly due to the many village's shared resources, it was described as a very joyous and successful time for the nation.   While most of the village was unified there was one thing that kept the people divided during the early years of Sunagakure, religion, while many praised the gods of the past, many others praised the sage of six paths or the will of wind and others had their own beliefs, this religious diversity would lead to petty squabbles between shinobi of the region. Though many of these issues started as mere religious differences they would quickly grow to be far more problematic and volatile as time went on, this would lead to the head of religious affairs working with the military to declare safety for all religions and beliefs in the village, punishing any who attacked religious members to the same extent as harming government officials while establishing that religious bouts can be settled by the members of the religions so long the as there is no damage done to the nation, the military or civilians and that all religions in the area put their differences aside when the governement calls for their aid, though they may differ they each serve The land of wind and must remain cooperative when needed. This angered some but was quickly accepted by the land as its many different followers as a suitable solution, the many religions would even begin viewing these non-lethal battles as a way to prove their faith, becoming a form of honorable combat. While some found it barbaric many in the nation viewed it as entertainment even lookin to spectate the battles that occured, rooting for those who beleived in the same religions as their own or their preference between religions they weren't tied to. Beyond the physical conflicts, another way these various religions sought to prove their superiority over one another was by creating more lavish temples than the others with more monuments to their beliefs as well as providing for their nation, this would lead to the religious heads spending the majority of their resources on helping the nation.   Kazuya's reign had many successes and notable events starting from his inaguration in the year 28, to assembling his royal staff, gathering the elders and finding the many nobles who help supply funding to the nation were just the beginning of his achievemants, all done within his first year as Kazekage. His most important members of staff were the elders who were given personal attendants to tend to their needs, the council of advisors, the chiefs of the military departments, and the royal guards. These employees would make up the bulk of the Kazekage's cabinet and his daily affairs but would be far fom the only beings he would interact with on a regular basis, often he would be involved in assigning missions to the ninja squads, would be in touch with the nobles and would speak to the representatives of each village as regularly as possible.
