Sol

Sol is a G-type main-sequence star. It is most notable as the home star of humanity. Colloquially Sol is also known simply as the Sun, though since humanity has become interstellar, that name is considered somewhat antiquated. The inhabitants of Alpha Centauri, who consider their respective stars the sun(s), don't appreciate this use of the word.
The Sol system features Earth as a habitable planet, further planets and planetoids are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. By the mid 21st century, all major celestial bodies in the system had some sort of permanent human presence.
