Ana Nores of the KPR sharply criticized this as "a blatant attack on the principles of Trinary cooperation".

The Beavana LArge Superconducting Tokamak (BLAST) has begun taking data. This concludes a development process of nearly 15 years. The reactor is one of the biggest scientific undertakings in the history of Alpha Centauri. A spokesperson of the collaboration said that this marks "a big step toward fusion energy", but that that goal is still "about 50 years away".

On the fifth anniversary of the disappearance of the Liberty, a memorial was held for the crew of the colony ship at the Kepler Corporation head quarters. A large crowd of admirers gathered to witness the unveiling of a statue of Imogen Lee. The visionary entrepeneur was lost with the rest of the crew when contact with Liberty was lost just months after it departed for Barnard's Star.
