The Gruul and the Biel halflings have a very intertwined history of one ancestor saving another or one group saving the other from invasion.  During this day both parties gather within the Grand oasis  and enjoy some festivities together. The big amount of high grade alcohol and mead available during this time is mind boggling. Also watching halflings in war paint and centaurs in straw hats and vests getting smashed is quite a funny sight. The most noble thing a member could do is swear an oath to one another to ride together for a year and a day protecting the territory and the continent.
