Knowing Codex

The condensation of knowledge. His Avatar permanently resides within the Grand Library of Drenkeeg.
Alignment: (Lawful Neutral)
Codex is the Accumulation of knowledge itself. It has no knowledge of things which haven´t been learned by other before but learns from every of it´s followers or any prayers directed to it. It favors any seeker of knowledge or inventors, but only extends the most basic of connections. Only a creature who offers knowledge to the Codex(preferably unknown) truly earns it´s blessings. It is also common knowledge that one can visit the Altar of the Codex in the Grand library of Drenkeeg, in Port Luna, and trade with this power. Knowledge versus Knowledge. There are legends and also confirmed stories of Simple farmers entering and exiting as all-knowing sages. Sadly “The codex” trades and doesn´t gift. So any knowledge offered to the codex is forgotten by the creature offering and how much worth that knowledge holds is decided by the alien interpretation of the codex. Meaning some have given precious information only to lose it in exchange for a pittance. Also the trade causes others to lose memories but only based one the trader. For example, if two people found a treasure map and one wanted to trade this knowledge then he would lose his memory of the treasure map while the other one would remember the treasure map but forget that the “Trader” also knew about it. Many have tried to plan and circumvent this, with varying degrees of success. Some use the Codex as an alternative to Korgotelox to forget painful memories. This waste of knowledge is contrary to the Codex tenets and it started to gift such beings knowledge that would let it experience these circumstances again or similarly punish these “Traders”, by leading them into situation which would fit the theme of “learn from your mistakes”.

Divine Influence
Clerics who have the most direct connection to deities are impacted by the unusual close connection between mortals and gods on Latebra
Whenever your Channel divinity is not available, either from using it or from over drafting your connection to Codex, you have trouble focusing. You have disadvantage on initiative rolls and perception checks.
If a Lore check is failed the cleric can stress his connection with the Codex to instead Crit succeed. This alternative Channel Divinity feature is then disabled for 5 days.
