Ashen woods

Dark, dense, and often assailed by snow and cold winds. This forest is found on salvos between the freed plains and the northern hinterlands. Also known as corpse woods, necrotic energy often leaks here and wendigos are a menace. Rumors say these dark, twisted trees are haunted by ghosts singing fell songs that lure travelers to their doom. In most respects, this wood is like any other. It is the home of numerous birds and small woodland creatures, as well as the occasional owlbear and the ever present Wendigo presence. However, nighttime travelers may witness a fearful spectacle. From the deep within the trees, sounds emerge reminiscent of music and song. A parade of colorful musicians emerging from the woodwork eighteen revelers, but undead without doubt, presented in various stages of rot. From unhealthily pale, with festering lethal wounds to skeletal appearances with loose gibbets of meat hanging from their bones , pulling strings, crashing tambourines or singing songs long past with mouths that should no longer work. They wear brightly painted death masks of different design a bizarre sight all around.

If one were to meet this spectacle the warning goes as such:
If the dancers make you space, then better start to swing you legs.
If the hand that reaches out hold an instrument, then better get it to make some sounds.
If your place is within their centermost midst, then your voice shall carry song.
Whatever your place, do your best, don´t mind the pace, just don´t rest.

They rip apart every non-willing participant, but their walk though the night is always always save, no beast daring to approach. Though nobody knows where their go and where one will end up, when they fade, like a mirage, during the first sunlight they meet.
