Sword of the Twin Dragons
The Sword of the Twin Dragons is an ancient magic item forged by The Undying Tulku when he was Reverend Elder of Earth's dimension. The sword is actually the remains of two dragons that ravaged Europe during the Dark Ages. Tulku fought the dragons for three days before finally killing both of them. However, Tulku was so impressed by their spirits that he forged both of them into the Sword of the Twin Dragons.
The "sword" is actually just a hilt with no blade. The hilt has been cast into the form of two dragons intertwined to form the handle with their heads facing each other with their jaws open. The blade is formed when someone with magical ability grasps the hilt and speaks its word of power (loosely meaning "Dragon Spirit"). When activated, fire blasts forth from the dragons open mouths and mingles to form a blade approximately 2½ feet long and the tails of the hilt grown and wrap around the wielder's forearm. The blade is capable of cutting through anything, including spirits, but will not work against dragons. The blade is also ineffective when submerged underwater. With sufficient skill, the wielder can also use the "flat" of the blade the inflict non-lethal damage to an opponent. The sword can also be made intangible and invisible when not in use. It is rumored that the sword has other abilities but so far that remains to be seen.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The sword has no mechanical workings but is infused with the powerful magic from the two dragon spirits that inhabit the hilt. Sensitive mystics can detect the dragons' spirits and legends have it that they can even be communicated with.
History
The sword was eventually found by the sorceress Merlinia, who currently wields it.
Significance
The Sword of the Twin Dragons is one of the few mystic items created by the Undying Tulku.
