Qada "The City of Knowledge"

Qada is where I own property and put in for the winter, it is the place where I am known best and most fondly. The professors that taught me still teach in the Academy, and the various taverns I visited as a youth now call me a guest of honor. I had once thought after living here for decades that I would get bored, that I would find a better place in the world that fit my curiosity more, that allowed me to be more then what I felt I was. Yet there is no place like home, like Qada. For this I am thankful. I am eternally pleased that I was blessed with a place I could call home that allowed me to be who I wanted to be.
"Qada is a place where all the good and bad of the world mix to collectively take a breath and drink an ale. Qada is the Capital of Trenventari, and for this we are given a pass, as a city. All that exist in this city do so because they are able to call it home. A city built from those that have no other place, no other home, are able to find and make one here without judgement" Ivellios Silverun Chronicler at Large in A World of Many Places.
I have found work here and have been employed by the Languard Estate for quite some time, all things said they have been amazing patrons. Without their assistance at the start I would have never overcame the early difficulties of my trips. The head of the Languard Estate even traveled with me for some time, Duncan was his name.

Demographics

Qada is a city built by adventurers, and while they may be the origin of the city, it has expanded past that quite quickly. The city of Qada is no longer just a trade port for a backwater area that will never attain legitimacy. It will always be secondary nation under Reiknel's wing. Yet the city moved on, it grew as it changed the marketing for the city. This wasn't just a place for people to lay low when being hunted, this was a place that the law of other nations avoided. The city was able to bring in some patrons with investment deals on the promise that they would act as the guardians for the people that came after. These patrons would eventually form the nobles of the city. At the head of this noble cabal was Duncan the head of the Languards, an old estate from Reiknel, under his leadership, the people of Qada were able to flourish and double the efforts of the nobles to build the city up. Over the course of the first hundred years the city went from backwater town, to a city on the rise, to one of the continents leading cities. This allowed for people from all over the world to move to the city and ply their trade.

Government

The government of Qada is entirely separate from that of Trenventari, the city was given to the nobles and operate autonomously from that of the state. They still pay taxes and the like but all decisions affecting the city made by the state must be cleared by the city and vice versa. The city is the bulk of the wealth of Treventari and is able to posture freely. The city government is a mix of nobles, merchants and guild heads that all are looking to protect their interests within the city. This group of people form the council that runs the government and helps to fund the projects that it undertakes for the people.
