S01E04 - Once upon a time...

General Summary

The group split for the night, with Morpheus heading home. She has a prophetic dream in which she sees many people having calamities befall them. These calamities start small and cascade quickly. Across town, Dan awakens after spilling coffee on himself. He cleans up and finds The Book of Lost Tales. He tries to open it and it will not open until her turns into Grimm. He goes back to sleep. In the morning, Sandy has an appointment who speaks of his life seeming to escalate out of control. He speaks of Storyteller, The, telling an innocent enough story to children in the park. They meet up at Sandy's apartment and discuss the situation and Grimm shows the book and its current contents. Sandy goes to her second appointment, which is perfectly normal (by her standards). Dan goes to investigate the park but finds nothing. He goes back to the office. Checks the office where the book was left for anything unusual, but doesn't find anything, except the book. It's almost like it appeared out of thin air. Dan visits an old bookstore in the heart of Old Salem called Ye Olde Bookstore. It is run by Isabel (Maiden), Angelique (Mother) And Catherine (Crone). They advised that the Library may exist and that it is a place out of time and space. You need a key, permission and to know where the door is. They meet up again. On the way back, they pass Storyteller, The talking to a man who responds angrily. He then steps in front of a car. Grimm runs across to help, followed slower by Sandy. Grimm becomes Doctor Death. The man can be saved. Grimm tries to save him and manages to stabilise him. He then tries to follow the Storyteller, The and finds that she disappeared in the middle of the alleyway. He then turns into the Bogeyman to return to his car and revert to his normal form. He drives back to the main road. When the EMT and police arrive, Sandy tells of the 'strange figure' that saved the man's life. They return to Sandy's apartment. They then traverse to the Dreamscape to look at the book. It is perfectly normal-looking, which is odd, in and of itself. They go to the main courthouse in Downtown. There is a set of golden scales with a man and a boy on the plate. Grimm. In the real world, the scene is a hangman's nooses. Morpheus brings a stick from the Dreamscape and they put a stick under each trap door. Eventually, the book pulls them to St Dymphna's Asylum. They defeat the minotaur and end up in the library. They get introduced to the Library. It tells them that The Storyteller is trying to remake the stories so she can gain the power of the Library.
