Knights Order of the Seraphim

The knights of Seraphim are a Scandinavian order charged with protecting the world from interlopers from other worlds, with the intention of doing harm to this world. They were created by charter by the Christian king of Sweden and the church to protect the world from such overt or covert intrusions and incursions. In the 18th century when stories started to be printed, the Order noticed that Scandinavia didn't hold the monopoly on world ending threats. Although many myths and legends were always available, the Order had focused solely on the threats based in Scandinavian mythology. With this new evidence, printed asnd readily available, they applied for and were granted the right to expand there investigation to other countries. With their recent victories and their new-found political stance, the mandate to expand was approved. As a result of that they have now spread all over the world, mostly conducting research into the mythologies of the host country and comparing it with what they have and, where appropriate, adding it to the Knight's databases. To help them look for otherworldly creatures that may now be interfering with Humans. They are a semi Secret group working in every country. The Knights always ask permission to set up a chapterhouse in a given city before setting up home. It wouldn't be unfair to say that these requests are usually approved with some lack of seriousness on teh part of the local governance.
