Godric's Hollow
Godric's Hollow is a small magical village in England. James Potter and Lily Evans took refuge there between 1868 and 1871. On Beltane (May 1) of 1871, Voldemort attacked the couple and their son, Henry Potter. Voldemort nearly killed Lily, but left her alive for unknown reasons. She used the last of her magic to save her son, dying of her injuries. James used his entire magical force to protect Harry from the killing curse, resulting in his death and a curse that rebounded on Voldemort and left Harry's magic permanently effected.
