Gertrude Sue Lome

Gertrude was a wealthy philanthropist dedicated to finding the cure for the Elven Bloodplague . Although she boarded the Tourmaline Dream with her husband, Gene Lome, in the hopes of rubbing elbows with several royal families during the Wyvern Nights festival she would become one of the few surviving members of the Dawn Islands Reaping.
Widowed and trapped on Islamara, Gertrude continued to remain a beacon of warmth and hope for the remaining survivors to include the Aumyr Chroniclers. Gertrude would go on to mentor Pip Tealeaf and serve as a storyteller and chronicler while in the Village of Tanaroa.
Gertrude died of disease before the Aumyr Chroniclers could return to Islamara to save the survivors and return them to Aumyr. She was buried at sea in the Zotzilaha Bay, the last-known location of the Tourmaline Dream shipwreck where her late husband likely died.

Gertrude is a wealthy investor and benefactor of multiple charities that focus on the study and cure of the Bloodplague. Gertrude is a warm and matronly woman that has fallen into the role of loving grandmother to the majority of the Tourmaline Dream survivors. Gertrude has a million tales from her long and storied life and is always willing to tell one to anyone that is willing to listen. Despite her previous life in high society, Gertrude is a warm soul and willing to do as much to help the survivors as possible.

Gertrude is the widow of Soloman Lome, the lead investor and treasurer of the Dreamor kingdom. While Gertrude has never had an official position within her husband's affairs she often controlled the pursestrings and had a hand in many business decisions. Gertrude lived her later years attempting to give back to the people, funding multiple charities and research grants.
