Session 24: Gazed and Confused
General Summary
During the night, the members of the party who had never taken Gutpunch were visited in their mind by the same kind of creature Emelia and Leaf saw in the room with Jaysennia and the armored worm. Only SNTR-1 allowed it "entry" into his mind. The creature called itself a Grey Apostle, an emissary of Ylmyo-Aldon, and wanted to determine the groups' purpose and "worth". SNTR-1 told it they were there to find a friend, and the Grey Apostle told him he could find many friends here if he joins them. The Apostle didn't appear to be malicious or aggressive, and the vibes SNTR-1 got from it were that of a curious and concerned neighbor introducing themself. Just a totally normal, polite interaction. Definitely no big deal. SNTR-1 promised the Apostle nothing, and ended their conversation.
After the long rest, each member of the Coast Guard became riddled with mycorrhizal roots that seemed to grant each of them a boon or power:Leaf has a constant Speak with Animals with Padme & can send his shield away from himself to protect others.
SNTR-1 gained the ability to cast Spider Climb on himself at will without concentration, and his connection to TA-2 strenghtened.
Calloway gained the ability to cast Detect Thoughts at will, and can remove permenant hit point reductions using their spell slots.
Emelia gained the ability to increase the damage of her spells (at a cost), and can use the Book to cast Contact Other Plane. If used to contact Ylmyo-Aldon, she gains certain other boons.
Calloway was able to communicate with SNTR-1, telling him she was lost in a room with a bridge.
In the "morning", the flying pursuers were hot on the team's heels. Leaf and Emelia, who had some idea of where Calloway ended up, were able to evade the monsters and get to Calloway without much issue. Calloway had ened up in a massive room with a 100-foot wide, 130-foot deep gorge spanned by a rope bridge clearly made by humanoids. The room was somewhat close to the village Emelia and Leaf saw, so they headed in that direction, bypassing the arches for the time being. SNTR-1 sent TA-2 into the gorge to see if he could see anything, but only saw a creature like Spug (in its stationary form) and a lot of half-eaten detritus.
After crossing the bridge (carefully, in the case of the two heaviest members), they entered a room with long strands hanging from the ceiling. After failing to stealthily move through the area, four "Umber Hulk" mushroom creatures burst from the ceilings and attacked, their hypnotically shifting gaze confusing many during the first round. The creatures were summarily dispatched.

TLDR:
Calloway is located. Grey Apostles visit sleeping minds. Boons were granted. A bridge is crossed. Hypnotically confusing hulking monsters were murdered.Bookkeeping:
