Jagragen (Ya gra jen)

Jagragen is the largest and most well known of the floating cities of the lizard folk. It is a shining example of their vibrant culture formed of interlocking boats and rafts connected to each other with ropes and planks forming a semirigid jumble of shops and dwellings floating on the water. 
This town is more similar to a trade caravan than a normal town as the entire place can pick up and move away to another location and various small boats and rafts attach and detach from the edges as their owners see fit. While the outline of the city is constantly shifting and the actual size and population may vary the center of the city is so intertwined at this point that some catastrophic event would be required to completely disassemble it. The very center of the city is Anchor Bell, a massive silver bell on thick brass chain that is the main anchor for the entire city. The bell is intricately engraved with all manner of blessings and protections in a wild array of languages both new and ancient. The bell is rung both before it is use to anchor the city and after it has been raised to allow the drifting city to set sail. When it comes time for Jagragen to move the bell is hauled from the depths and rung announcing the intent, then sails are raised  through out the streets from small masts of individual vessels and from the massive yard arms and braces that hold the city center together, resulting in a wild display of bright colored patched and emblazoned banners and sails to move the town to a new location. In the event that their is insufficient wind, Jajragen also has several large paddle wheels that can be cranked by hand to move the city along.
