Crimson Swan

Crimson Swans are carnivorous blood red swans with black beaks and accent feathers. They are aggressively territorial. They are aggressively territorial claiming small to medium sized ponds and drive off all other water fowl and aquatic mammals such as beavers. Like many birds crimson swans mate for life and mated pairs are found patrolling larger ponds together.
During the 5 days centered on the new moon these creatures transform into a vampiric human like form and prey upon isolated towns and unwary travelers. Particularly lonely crimson swans have been known to form a bonded pair with other species though this is rare.
