Infamous for its population of Dark, Bug, Poison, and large population of Ghost types, the notorious reputation of Oblithus is known across the kingdoms. Taverns tales speak of a land shrouded in darkness. Her trees twisted and dyed black like the hearts of her people. An ever-present smog darkens the sky that not even sunlight could penetrate. Even the bravest hunters and adventurers fear to tread through her woods. The Ferals that claim the darkest corners of this region, cunning and unyielding. Their very gaze can stop a man in his tracks. A gaping maw being the last thing he sees before death takes him.
Truly, a land where crooks thrive, zealots shine, and doom and gloom seeps from every nook and cranny.
These are but tales told in taverns by the very people who inhabit the foretold dark kingdom of Oblithus. The fervid exaggeration of these stories is all dependent on the imagination of the storyteller. Indeed, the people of Oblithus have a fondness for tall tales and the dramatic. Her domain houses two of the largest theaters in all the lands: Theatre Oblithus and The Imperial Theatre.
Although, not everything in an Oblithian tavern goers’ story is an exaggeration.
Within the capital of Vilccester especially, the difference between the upper and lower classes poses a great problem. The rich continue to prosper, while the poor suffer. In many cases, the desperate turn to a life of crime.
History
Fall of the Draconian Dynasty
It is said that after the death of the beloved Queen Katharine, King Desmond’s mind began to deteriorate. Heartbroken by the loss of his beloved, he took to religion to find peace. Instead, he was greeted by fanatical zealots eager to take advantage of a grieving man; king or not. With him as their figurehead, they established the “Order of the Chosen.” With their newfound power, the order slowly began spreading its influence across Oblithrus. Seizing the opportunity, the ruler of Borcier reached out with his plan to invade Draconia. The king of the northern lands appealed to their hatred of the long-lived dragons. They could hardly refuse, especially when offered riches. The end result turned into the deadly war upon the dragons to the north. Dubbed “The Dragon Crusades.” by the King and his fellows, though known as a cruel act that would forever be a dark chapter to the people of Oblithus.Fall of Borecier
