"Gates of darkness. Beings from a world without day marched onward with desperation. Bewitched by the light of this world, they sought to make it their own."

The Ultra Beasts came without warning. They arrived through twisting, dark portals which people began calling "Gates." The Gates lead back to their home, which had been plunged into never-ending darkness. When they stumbled upon this world, they sought to conquer it and make it their new home. However, some began to see things in a different light. The more they fought, the more they saw the people of this land as equals. Many began to defect, which began to turn the tides of war. With their aid, the remaining invaders were defeated, and the Gates were sealed. Thus ending the war.
