Atop Széleredete the Many-Spire Mountain sits the divinity known as Szilád, one of the five major divinities in the Tukhamu Magas. Also known as the Whisper on the Winds, he watches over his people with a benevolent eye, softly guiding them in the right direction but never pushing too hard. He is the divinity of Travel and Guiding Winds, belonging to the greater domains of Chaos and Air.   The weather in the Tukhamu highlands (and the world in general) is varied and quite extreme due to the planet's toroid shape. As such, it should be no surprise that people are eager to turn to a divinity who can control one of these aspects. People pray to him for safe travels, hoping that they arrive at their intended destination safe and sound. They hope to receive gentle winds, rather than the harsh winds that the region is known for, and can sweep people off a mountain path. Sometimes they also pray for him to advice them and guide them in the right direction, hoping to hear his whispers on the wind.   He is also sometimes considered to be a god of trade and reconciliation, someone who emphasizes cooperation between people and this is reflected in the attitude of his citizens as well. His city is the largest rest stop and trader's hub in the area, and he has tried to maintain positive relations with the other major Points of Radiance (although there is friction between him and Sárbolc). This peaceful attitude may also be why he gets along so well with Béhegy.  

Hallow

It is said that his hallow is at the very peak of the largest mountain in the Széleredete. From here he overlooks the surrounding area. It is said that he keeps with him four jars, from which he releases the winds of change in every cardinal direction; north, east, south and west. He is often accompanied by his four pets, the Sky Serpents. These beasts represent the four wind directions and occasionally come back to rest within their respective jars. They are:
  • Deszél, the Southern Wind Serpent. Representative of dust storms and drought.
  • Északíg, the Northern Wind Serpent. Representative of cold winds and snow.
  • Kelég, the Eastern Wind Serpent. Representative of heavy rainfall and humid air.
  • Nyugyó, the Western Wind Serpent. Representative of calm winds and clouds.
 

Appearance

It is said that in the past, when he was first discovered, he appeared as a cross between a serpent and an eagle with four talons. Nowadays he appears more human-like, yet still somewhat alien. His four arms are relatively long proportionately to his body and also, not connected. They float at a slight distance from his torso, undulating on the wind. His legs cannot be seen as he wears a long skirt that is half-hidden in a miniature whirlwind. He has a pair of very thin horns on his head that curve back to form a near perfect circle with only a slight opening. He is covered in an irregular pattern of silvery, serpentine scales and his eyes are snake-like and a piercing light blue.

His aspects of trade and travel make him fairly popular both among his own population, as well as other towns in the nearby region. His worshipers frequently invoke his name before setting out to travel. They see portents in the way the wind blows, promising either good fortune or a rough journey. An entire sub-sect of his faith, the Szélovasó or Windreaders, is dedicated to figuring out his messages from the local weather patterns around the Széleredete.   With his blessing, his priests harness the winds, both to keep the city safe from the worst that the environment has to offer, and to facilitate transport. They maintain a minor wind barrier that ensures the ashfall from above does not cover too much of the city, but they also ferry wind barges up and down to and from the city of Szilávár to the villages of the Many-Spire peaks.

Devotion

Those who devote themselves to a divinity are sometimes rewarded for it, especially when they perform extraordinary actions. Szilád rewards those who represent his values of curiosity and cooperation. Freedom is both a gift and a responsibility, it is earned and should be used well. Traveling to new locations, and exploring these darkness-covered lands is a great virtue, especially if you can do it with others. Together you can achieve greater heights, and find sights far more exhilarating than what could be discovered alone.   His blessings grant people good fortune, and the means to control the winds or move around with unnatural alacrity. His greatest worshipers seem to be able to reach any place with seemingly little effort, bypassing all of the dangers inherent in this mountainous terrain. It is said that his saint can move their own strike party with the speed and silence of the winds, appearing exactly where they need to be, when they need to be there.   Piety Rewards (D&D 5E)
Earning Piety:
  • Setting up a cooperation or trade route between two groups or individuals for both their mutual benefit.
  • Discovering a new location or resource, or finding a hard-to-reach spot.
  • Raising or restoring a monument to Szilád.
  • Expanding the domain of Szilád.
Losing Piety:
  • Blocking a road or trade route for your own benefit.
  • Refusing to cooperate in an endeavor when it would be beneficial to both sides.
  • Destroying a totem or monument to Szilád.

(Piety 3+ Trait)
The Whisper on the Winds guides you, allowing you to assist others in their endeavors and move around with an almost gravity-defying grace.
You can cast jump with this trait, a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
In addition, you know the guidance cantrip.   Szilád's Votary.
(Piety 10+ Trait; Minimum Level 6)
You are the wind's favored, even if you misstep they will protect you from the worst that could happen. When you fall, you ignore the first 30 feet when calculating falling damage. If you fall less than 30 feet, you take no damage and land on your feet.
This affects the first 60 feet of falling distance when you reach level 11.   Szilád's Disciple.
(Piety 25+ Trait; Minimum Level 11)
You move with an alacrity that makes it seem as if the wind is always at your back. Your speed increases by 10 feet. In addition, you can cast freedom of movement with this trait, requiring no material components. Once you cast the spell in this way, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.   Saint of the Winds.
(Piety 50+ Trait; Minimum Level 17)
The winds protect you from any harmful attacks from afar. Ranged attacks made from more than 30 feet away against you have disadvantage on the attack roll.
In addition, you can cast wind walk with this trait, requiring no material components. Once you cast the spell in this way, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
