The Leylines of water and sky

The Leylines of the world aren't tethered to the ground. Instead they float throught he air and water in so-called "Currents".
The currents are known to pool into Cairns, a place of power muck like a lake of magic.

Should the Current dissappear magic would cease to be for everyone and everything.
While the Current is a source of magic, to cause/create a magic mutation a pooling of Aether would be needed.
These cairns are very sought-after by wizards. Usually wizards towers were built in locations near a cairn,
If the concentration of aether is large enough, Lumicite can form.
Remnants of dried out cairns can exist.
