Session 34
General Summary
Recap
During our travel to Foamridge we encountered the priest of Kishar, Bertold and his guardians on their way to Harbeld. We gave them some info about the situation (and a gift) before parting.We divvied up the loot from the attack on Harbeld. Saga took the armor (cursed) and Muir took the belt that Alexander got from the troll.
Afterwards Saga and Muir discovered a constructed cave with a 200 feet deep pit inside. Later that night, Saga saw a figure moving towards the cave but upon inspecting it there were no traces of it. Muir and Saga are going to inspect further.
Summary
After Muireall and Saga inspected the cave, they wanted to seperate from the caravan to explore further.Arti came along with them, while Alex remained with the caravan.
In the cave we found the person Saga saw, Jinx a deformed and meek quaggoth. He has memory issues and lumicite stuck in his chest.
He offered to be our guide to deeper into the cave where he has his first memories and were the noise comes from.
Along the way we found signs this cave might have been used as a smuggler's route: we found a drug called bonerust and some presumed thieves cant.
He led us to a wide spacious cavern resembling a quarry with tables and old lanterns. To be safe we all hid (Jinx is covering his ears from the noise) except for muirreall who went to investigate deeper into the room as it was too far to see.
She found a pile of corpses from which the choatic noise seems to originate. She tried to thunderwave it. but the corpses just jojo'd back together. For her, and for HER only, the noise changed to a cathedral choir. She is now trying to go back to the rest of the group, while the rest have no clue what's going on.

muir is dangling 45 ft down

she continues with setting more up down
muir enters water: murky
no bottom - swimming
not sure if carved or natural

arti puts snare at entrance and then follows suit
continue into the tunnel
looks natural but partly constructed (widened)
natural and man adapted it to be more suitable
saga sees a light source in the distance
pink violet glimmer that disappears
cavern widens
water deepens at some points
then it becomes a big spacious room
with rock croppings like shelves sticking out the side
we cannot see whats on top
there's a broken ladder - arti fixes it
nearest shelf: more a cliff where group of people can sit with broken pottery
violet pink flash on higher shelf
arti collects the pottery shards
we head to other two upper shelves
muireall climbs first
source of pink violet glow: mix between bear-wolf on two legs with human feet crystal in his chest (which is like light source)
it is cowering
wide with human legs arms like gorilla mix of bear wolf in face in chest purple glowing rock
a quaggoth: a humanoid bear that lives underground, it speaks broken common (undercommon)
walls filled with scratchmarks - hands are massive talons - he climbs
crystal doesnt harm him, wasnt born with it
he was what saga saw
he doesnt remember if he's trouble

he has no wounds except thr crystal - shoved in there and healed over
quaggoths are territorial but this once is very meek
legs are also off more human than supposed to
one turning into the other?

crystal doesnt replace his heart, his body has grown around it. it is not keeping him alive

no pleasant tales, very addictive: lode bone mass, lose ability to walk become crippled,..
half pot of bonerust: 10 uses - arti takes it to hand over to the guards
no clue if it is naturally/chemically produced
few hours walking, could have been a day
more shelves more ports, most are destroyed
5-6 hours later
a drumming echo: crashing waves, voices, thunder?wild chaotic mix of sound
still far just echoing through - odd combo underground
jinx covers ears as we go near
people laughing, talking, screaming no sense of it
most spacious opening, like under ground quarry
tables old lanterns, old candles, creates
a mining shaft or elevator in the distance
no people to be seen
muir thinks a haunting
we hide as muir goes forward to scout the rest of the room
sound becomes louder and distorter
something in the center of the room: a mound/pile of something
sound fades for muir only: pile of bodies of all races, dried blood around it, it is the origin of the sound
she uses thunder wave on it
the rest dont hear it, corpses stick together like a jojo
something is forcibly keeping them in place
muir hears a choir playing in her head
it is pleasant like a grand cathedral
she is leaving the pile
choir remains, doesnt hear the cacophony anymore
