Demon Rifts in Middle America

A rift was opened near the Templar Encampment too far south to be caused by the more northern rifts.
Someone or something is responsible but we don't know what or who.

Known Info

Sin'zi knew up-front about the invasion.
According to Bob there are 3 types of rifts with varying ways to open and close them:

1. Window: A temporary rift between the abyss and mortal plane, opened by a person on the mortal plane - Caster must maintain the rift and stick close by to do so. - Close using dispel magic
   
2. Place of Power: A permanent rift between the abyss and mortal plane
   
• source is a person: If the person used themselfves as the point, they themselves have become the rift. They are stuck forever as a fleshy gate to the abyss.
  
• source is a place or thing: The place of power becones the location of the rift.
  
The rift closes once the source is destroyed.

3. Deal: Rifts can be opened through deals between mortals and powerful demons. The rift can only be closed by killing the demon in the Abyss or killing the person that made the deal.

Sin'zi knew because of her Book of Evil.
Rift is either place of power or a deal.
Location: Submerged Temple = Drained Sacrificial Pit

Update

We found a large high level power crystal at the location with a portal behing it. Upon destruction of the crystal we got sucked in. New subquests unlocked!
