Session 03 - The World Serpent Inn
General Summary
The group arrives at the World Serpent Inn, and thanks to the Inn's healing energies, their captives wake up. Realizing that the Geas spell can't affect them in the Inn, the leader, Nruce is willing to talk - a little. He explains that he and his younger partner Ni are Keepers from the cell called Eyes of the Void , tasked with the stability of the multiverse. Nruce reveals that their necklaces are made of Originator tech , a society that was wiped out a long time ago. While he won't explain more, he says that the group should be figuring out what other two events happened at the same time as the wedding attack as things in the Planescape always happen in threes. Hit with the overwhelming urge to shit his bowels out, the group befriends Ni and tries to convince him to leave the Keepers and find his own destiny.
Across the inn, a kenku is heard singing "remember me I ask, remember me I sing" in Idris Telemmier's voice. In trying to solve this mystery, the group calls attention to themselves and a crowd gathers, fascinated to meet survivors from the now infamous Opal Wedding. While the group thinks only a few hours have gone by, the wedding was actually five days ago, and many rumors have been spreading since then. They do learn though that at the same time as the wedding attack, a tower reappeared in Sigil.
A Hound Archons named Aevo calls the group over. She says there's rumors that a portion of the Realm of the Norns (the location of the wedding) has appeared in the Outlands. In exchange for exploring the ruins and reporting back to her on what they find, she will tell the group where to find an expert on Originator technology.
The group travel to the Outlands just outside of the gate city Faunel. Immediately they are cornered by gnolls influenced by the Beastlands - lost because their tracks keep disappearing. Though the group tries to hide and let them pass, they are forced into a fight but hold their own. Continuing on, they find a portion of the wedding venue with the edges curling upwards in beautiful, reshaped petals, having been touched by the Architect. At the center sits Idris, singing softly to himself.
