Introduction

Planar Breach is a near-modern fantasy setting where the world was destroyed in a cataclysm involving abuse of the rules of magic. The world was fractured into thousands of small bits known as Material Shards and are floating in the Astral Sea. Each of these shards are covered in a protective Barrier. It took over five hundred years for the first people to devise a way to breach the barrier and to create gates that allow easy access between shards and the sea. In that time of isolation each shard developed its own unique culture, magic, and technology from its medieval era. Now people travel the astral sea, bringing trade, wealth, adventure, foreign religions, and exploring the unknown and all of its dangers.
