The Shadow Watcher Organization

Melorians have often labored under terrible conditions, in dangerous factories and workshops, in awful conditions, and with heavy restrictions placed upon them. The Shadow Watchers sought to change that - beginning with the Council, but they were quickly forced underground. They grew from the shadows, doing what they could to help those in need, and gathering the information they needed in order to bring the city to a new age of light.

Structure

Leader: Myrtle Merryweather   Officers: Richard Nadira, Selby Windswept, Lolly Gangrenous, Neben Halfborn   Watchers: higher ranking members, with access to SW storerooms and supplies   Lurkers: new or low rank members, access to SW headquarters on a limited basis, and entitled to shelter by the organization if needed

Public Agenda

To minimize suffering of the people of Meloria in any way they can. Originally to speak out and change laws that were complicit in the oppression of non-humans.

History

Founded by Myrtle Merryweather and Richard Nadira in 1005, the Shadow Watchers began life as an aboveboard organization of non-human members of E-Sector, as a way for the people to speak out and help their fellows. During an effort to convince the Council to lift bans and restrictions that non-humans were under, the SWs were quickly disbanded by the Guard as "inciting unrest", "intent to rebellion", and the leaders were forced into the tunnels beneath Meloria. They slowly grew, gaining the new name of Shadow Watchers as they emerged from the shadows of the Runs district of Meloria.   SWs, primarily known as Lurkers or Shadow People to the unintiated, have been key in protecting persons during the Melorian Riots of 1015.
