Dawnmeet

Dawnmeet is the name of the first day of the year. It is sacred to the Morninglord as a day of renewal, and is celebrated in different ways in different areas.
The human farmers of the Plains ring in the year with the Dawnwatch, a tradition in which the participants wake up before the sun and greet the new dawn of the year, often offering up food and drink to the god in hopes of a fertile year. Melorian residents sometimes greet it similarly, most often in Morninglord's Light, or may celebrate a related tradition beginning at sundown. In this tradition, the revelers visit the temples of each of the gods they called upon that year, leaving a small trinket or offering in thanks for their help and to absolve any debts, before ending with the dawn prayer at the temple to Lathander, renewed by the experience.
