Invians
Culture:
More commonly referred to as "bird people", there are rumors that Invians are descendants of Phoenixes (As absurd as that sounds). There are many different kinds of invians, and everyone is unique, whether it's due to their unique and colorful plumage or body types. Invians are naturally friendly, and loyal, but can become extremely hostile if betrayed. Most Invians believe in The Four Winds of North, West, East, and South. They believe these gods perch on the highest peaks in each corner of the world, creating the air currents by flapping their powerful wings whenever they wish. Invians design their whole livelihoods around these currents, exchanging goods and information with other invian tribes over flying trade. Due to this somewhat exclusive system, while the many different Invian tribes remain connected, their resources are seldomly accessible to "land people".
History:
Dirt Age:
Even before they gained sentience, avians have been living their lives above most of the creatures of the world. They see events unfold from an entirely different perspective, and their lives don't easily intertwine with the average going Ons of "land people". They lived in trees and high up in mountains, where most of the conflict could not reach them, but they had plenty of struggles with flying predators. On occasion the wind current would change out of the blue, allowing an invian under attack to wiggle out of impossible situations. Due to this they began to believe there were benevolent beings behind these winds, protecting them. From this belief the four winds made manifest.
Leaf Age:
Although Invians never interacted with The Four Winds, they became a prevalent part of their society. Trade routes were designed around their unique currents, and some winds carried with them gifts of magic. There were two tribes who flourished above all the rest, a people whose wings smoked, and who were capable of breathing fire known as the Phoenyxians, and another people who were incredibly clever, and intuitive with a dark plumage that could hide them in the deepest shadows known as the Ravnetir.
Flame Age:
The invians are in a similar state as many other beastkin at this point. Subjugated and chased from their homes. The Phoenyxians have disappeared, seemingly having died out a hundred years ago, and the humans committed genocide against the Ravnetir, not one of their lineages remains on Incontinence today. In the process the humans burnt down a large portion of one of the biggest forests in the land, destroying many homes. When finally, the humans have been dealt with the Invians retreat, back to their homes in the sky where the "land people" can never hurt them again.
