Felinx

Culture:

The Felinx teach their young that their ancestors were brought into the world by the Goddess Jed'Ba, who loved feline creatures with all their heart. So much so that they were distraught by the increasing deaths of these beasts and sought to increase their survivability. Thus, they bestowed a more powerful form, as well as sentience to a few of their favorites. From these blessed ones descend all Felinx, who walk on two legs as other intelligent species, but retain the physical capabilities of their ancestors.

Felinx females tend to be extremely adventurous and leave home frequently to pursue excitement. Due to this it is not uncommon for felinx to be raised by fathers who also have to take over the role of a mother, or another felinx mother who takes the abandoned kittens in as her own. This does not take away from the mother, as she is still typically considered the breadwinner of the household and a hero to her kits. The fathers are typically more docile, homebodies that enjoy a relaxing day of sunbathing. There are however a few tribes in each corner of the land with features reminiscent of large feline predators who live a very one-with-nature, warrior/hunter lifestyle and raise their children to be able to do the same things.

There are many creatures in nature that incite unique and curious reactions in every felinx, lending to their instinctual days. One of the creatures they have particular history with are Wranglers, whom they have wrestled with since they first encountered them. However, even with these creatures being an instinctual opposite to the felinx, it started to be common in the Leaf Age for felinx to keep wranglers in their homes, as pets.

History:

Dirt Age:
Felinx are born hunters. In their early years, they did not do familial roles, and every kit was raised to be able gather resources so they could survive on their own. Because of this, it wasn't uncommon for Felinx to leave home and never return, feeling no gain from staying with the tribe. This started to negatively affect their population, as more and more died to freak accidents caused by natural disasters or celestial combat. They believe that Novicaa mourned the death of so many felines early on and spawned two daughters to watch after them. One, Jed'Ba, stayed with her people to care and provide from them as she was created for. She had a great argument with her sister, Se'ta, one day who believed the Felinx were not meant to stay in a stuffy community and follow rules and set out into the world to protect its explorers.
Leaf Age:
The Felinx had learned how to make a comfortable community within themselves thanks to the guidance of Jed'ba and the protection of Novicaa. They settled in new tribes across the land thanks to the adventures of the followers of Se'ta. The Panthari were in their prime, and lived happy lives hunting, eating, sunbathing, and sleeping.
Flame Age:
Pets. That's what the humans call them. Obedient animals that rely on their brilliant masters. They were treated as slaves and idiotic companions to the humans in their construction of their everyday life. There were still a few humans that regarded cats as special, and thus did not consider their anthropomorphic counterparts to be lesser, but in fact greater. These groups are typically considered to be fanatical and can even make a felinx uncomfortable with all their worshipping. Of course, with the suffering the humans caused, and the thousands of kittens lives ruined, the felinx returned to their old ways, awakening Novicaa to protect them from this new threat. Her awakening is one of many that has brought unexpected changes to the atmosphere and weather of the modern world.

Healing Purr- Felinx's unique ability to purr is proven to have healing properties, that over generations, has led to the channeling of this healing into stronger form with a humming chant. The teachers of this ethnic technique are rumored to exist in a pocket of the desert between life and death.
