Bellflowers

A bush that has grown wildly throughout the Eykor crater, it is essentially a fern that sprouts two types of flowers. The first faces the sky with three antennae releasing a pollen into the air that attracts butterflies. This pollen spreads to the small flower blossoms that grow along the bellflower's roots, which then become fertilized and start to grow their own ferns. The second droops down like a bell, and releases a scent that masks the presence of the pollen in the air, so the butterflies don't know they're being fooled. The "tongue" that hangs from the inner stem sometimes does create a sound when the bulb sways and its tip bounces off the petals.
Although it is common for these to be treated as weeds, and rooted from gardens with extreme hostility, there are many in Vengkan who find beauty in them and care for the ones that grow in the streets and on the buildings.
