The Divine Vessels

In ancient times, before The conflict of the ancient gods, a war broke out between the god of life and the god of death. Their conflict got so intense it started to bleed into the world of mortals. This lead to a long era of random chaos, with plagues and disease, and sudden shifts in birth rates. Some years had high rates of stillbirth, while others had a significant increase in birth rates, even twins or triplets would be fairly common.
After many years of this chaotic conflict, the other gods decided to intervene, and stripped both gods of their powers.
Two vessels were created and infused with their powers, one for the power of life, and one for the power of death. The vessels were thrown down to the realm of mortals, in the hopes that someone worthy of their powers would be able to wield them.
It is unknown if the vessels contained the full divine power of the gods or just a sliver of it but in either case finding these vessels would grant the wielder immense powers.
The vacuum of power left behind eventually led to The conflict of the ancient gods, during which more gods were stripped of their powers, resulting in several more divine vessels being thrown into the world of mortals.

Known Divine Vessels

So far, only two Divine Vessels have been found, both gauntlets made of crystal, the Hand of the Goddess, and the Hand of Death.

Hand of the Goddess

The Hand of the Goddess is the Divine vessel that was imbued with the power of life. It has the power to heal even the most fatal wounds, and can even bring people back to life. This power comes as a cost, as it is fueled with the life-force of the wearer, making the act of healing a pure act of sacrifice and compassion.
It got the name as newly found information suggests that this gauntlet may have been the source of power for Colibri in her mortal life before she ascended to godhood.
Additionally, the Hand of the Goddess also has the power to instantly destroy beings created by the Hand of Death.

Hand of Death

The Hand of Death is the Divine vessel that was imbued with the power of death. It has the power to steal the life-force from any living being. The Life-force is then stored in the vessel, and can then be used to reanimate corpses and force them to serve the wielder.
Recent information suggests that Kazul got his powers from the Hand of Death in his mortal days, using it to raise his foes as undead, bolstering his army further for each battle. For him to create such a large army as he had, he must've had help, and scholars have speculated that he may have been able to grant his followers similar powers, with the Hand of Death.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

All of the known vessels are crystal gauntlets made from divine crystal. In their dormant state, they do not appear to be extraordinary, except for their exceptional durability, but once equipped the crystal becomes smooth and light, and will fit the size of the wearer's hand.
It has been theorized that wielding both The Hand of the Goddess and the Hand of Death, could potentially make the wearer invincible. Since the Hand of Death are able to steal the life-force of others, and the Hand of the Goddess can heal fueled by the wearer's life-force, the wearer could possibly keep himself alive by stealing life force with the Hand of Death, and restore himself with The Hand of the Goddess. If this is true, a person holding both divine vessels could become very powerful and dangerous.

The Divine Vessels have had a huge impact on known history, both directly and indirectly. Not many people are aware of this, as very few people even know about the vessel's existence.
