Only the best can become Huschmidt

Huschmidt it is a Kharmian word that indicates the blacksmith specialized in the creation of horseshoes. Obviously, there are many blacksmiths across the continent that can make or repair those object but to become a Huschmidt requires skills, application and total devotion. Huschmidts are considered master artisans of the highest level, revered by nobles and knights, because they are able to create masterwork allowing stability in difficult terrain, recovery from injury or tiredness, correct abnormality of the gait just to name a few. The recognized capital of the Huschmidt training is the village of Hestaskó where the Huschmidt Consortium has its mainhall.

The Consortium

In order to avoid the dispersion of professional secrets and, at the same time, ensure a constant influx of apprentices for a physical and, at times, very hard work; the masters Huschmidt have agreed to the creation of the Consortium, a guild specialising in the regulation and promotion of the profession and the quality control of products. The Consortium acts as a filter between suppliers and master craftsmen and between these and principals, regulates access to the profession for apprentices and applies strict quality control of finished products that are individually checked, marked and numbered to avoid the risk of counterfeiting. The Consortium's activities ensured, even during the biggest production crises, that a reasonable price for raw materials was maintained, while the price of branded items remained constant at good levels thanks to its prestige.

Cooperation with the Tower of Imbuers and Creators

The proximity between Hestaskó and one of the twelve locations where arcane magic is taught, made it so possible to the consortium to act as a link between the magicians and the masters Huschmidt. They, like the rest of the civilian population, frowned upon associating with magic users, yet this was an economic opportunity not to be missed. Only products of the highest level can be infused with spells without risk to those who had to use them. After all, it is easy to imagine what would happen to a horse and its rider if it were to lose just one of four horseshoes of speed.
