Kovo's Computer Item in Phaiyon | World Anvil

Kovo's Computer

We weren't sure what to expect during our expedition through the crumbling university buildings. Thankfully the entire campus was on stable land and nowhere near any sinkholes or cliff edges. Our group was tasked with recovering any technological devices and information in general. Elias asked me to keep an eye out for computer stuff in specific as his group is trying hard to recreate or even improve on all the stuff our people lost.
— Teleri's Journal.

Most technology was lost in the The Great Shattering and the people of Phaiyon had to adapt to their regressed lifestyles over time. Once things settled down, the newer generations sought out what remnants they could in hopes of advancing once more. This specific item was an old computer found during an expedition that also led to the discovery of the Kovo language.

Description

This computer stood out to the expedition team during their search. It was found deep within what they assumed to be a science building. The item was covered in a thick layer of dust and sat atop a metal desk surrounded by scattered papers, journals, and various tools the team couldn't identify. It was in this room that Teleri found the info she handed over to Elias Penndragon that introduced the scientists to the world of coding.

It is a large and "clunky" looking unit made from multiple parts and accessories. The outer components are all a thick plastic in varying states of yellowing. A few mystery stains were found on random bits. To the team's surprise, everything was intact for the most part and nothing appeared to be shattered or completely ruined. They were able to escort the whole unit, with the help of multiple hands, back to the research lab.
