The Qhan Barony (qʰɑn)
Like Annhr, the Qhan is primarily a grain producing barony. There are only scattered trading posts, tiny villages, and hamlets, surrounded by thousands of tiny farms. Qhansroke is the only city of note. It has grown considerably, however, since the Greiūdeen Locks were built along Taos Ghestrè starting in 290 QA and being completed in 301 QA; all the locks were inside the Barony of Qhan and House Qhan largely paid for them, with the support of Paln Lihgn. As a result, Qhan has moved from being a small player in the Council of Barons into some prominence and wealth. Subsequently, they have allied strongly with Lihgn.
Qhan – Qa VII, regnal name Lord Baron Qa VII t’Qhan. ♂ 36, b. 273, r. 293-309. Qa dāQa Qhan. Lady Baroness Qaren qāDèrhemir Qhan (Qaren Dèrhemir).
Qhan one of the eight ruling houses of Qh’énnshaiyn and the eponymous barony. Current head, Lord Baron Qa VII t’Qhan, who rules from Qhansroke. Blāen’wen, the Blue Moon, is the patroness of the Qhan Barony and thus their colour is blue and their element, water. This makes sense given that Qhan is favoured by Taos Ghestrè, the largest river in Qh’énnshaiyn, and the barony is along the western coast (called Greiūdeen). The Great Lock is on its southern part of the coast and allow even the largest of Mbaran ships access to the Taos Ghestrè. It is said that the reason the Ghestenyi wear checked blue and silver is because they are of the borderlands of Qhan and of Breidl, the western coastal baronies. Qhansroke, the Great Lock, most of Taos Ghestrè, and shares the highland forests and Greiūdeen coastal cliffs with Breidl.
