The Kwasséi (gwɑs.sej)
The Kwasséi ethnic group that claims sovereignty from within parts of most of the nations in Tzai-Léi. However, the rulers and the commonfolk within these nations consider the Kwasséi as interlopers, vagabonds, and undersireable "guest" people. As such, the Kwasséi are treated poorly by most of their neighbours throughout the various realms they exist in. Among the nations that tolerate the Kwasséi are Quan-Wa, Kwaong, and Aehi. There are also a considerable number of Kwasséi in Aranthaali and southern Ptarshai, although here the Kwasséi themselves declare their status as foreign residents. It is believed that the shogun of Xei Haikdao's edict against the Kwasséi lead to their extirpation from his lands, although it is possible that their exists hidden, secret pockets in its larger centres.
The vast majority of the Kwasséi live under the thumb of the rulers of Kwaong and Aehi. Whilst, Kwaong and Aehi have not purged the Kwasséi like the shogun of Xei Haikdao, that does not imply they are peacefully welcomed in Kwaong or Aehi.

In foreign realms—i.e. beyond those that the Kwasséi lay claim to—local names are often adopted to help assimilate.
