Naming Traditions
Family names
Family names preceed given names and are usually one syllable. Two syllable family names are rare, but there are a few that are relatively common.
*The vowel-initial of Aehi—the name of the nation and its peopleé—has some variant pronunciation. Whereas /e/ is official, /æ/ and /e/ are in free variation, such that both are essentially standard.
Hence the derived terms Aehin, Aehini, Aehinese are frequently pronounced /æhin/, /æhiːni/, and /æhiːn~/ respectively.
