Ptansannae (ᵖtænsænːe)
The capital city of the Ptarshakkian Empire, Ptansannae is one of the largest, most populous cities in the known world. Its populace is predominantly ethnic Ptarshish, but naga, trolls (predominantly half-trolls), dwarves, as well as other human ethnicities are present in smaller percentages.
Named to honour the empress of the Ptarshish. The founding House Zann, for which the imperial capital Zann’Ro is named, is rendered Sann in Ptarshakkian; the name Ptansannae honours the long dead Empress Zann, and by extension the rulers of the empire, with special reverence paid to empresses like the current, Mischa ab'Amma. Ptansannae’s north and eastern sides are surrounded by dense old growth forest. Arable land for farming lies to the south and extends well into the border regions. However, the vast Ptsannae Desert lies to the west.
