Umbraday 25/05/2345

Genevieve’s

M comes back in after burning the bodies and asks G if Garrin gave her his address when they met, she says he did and M asks if someone should go check on him and she says she would like to do that
M poofs Ember in the necklace, Banso sees that and looks confused and amazed, getting close to M’s neck and asking if “That little guy went in there”
M snaps her fingers and as she opens her hand Ember is standing in it, Banso says he’s seen some magic in his day but that’s new to him and M poofs them back in again
Draekos nods to G as she finishes putting on the surcoat with her family crest on it, Jazen sees her and calls out that she’s looking fancy, she turns a little pink, Moritha tells her not to listen to him and that she looks wonderful
M gives Moritha a gentle squeeze on the shoulder and tells her she’ll be safe at The Radiant Hall, she smiles and thanks M for everything she’s done to help and M says she’ll compare notes with her later
Before they leave, M pulls Syyrik aside and asks about the guard patrol routes and he helps her plan out a route that avoids major patrol routes and says that for some reason it’s been suspiciously quiet around the town square
M gives him a nod, thanks him for the help and tells him to be safe before giving him a kiss on the cheek, he smiles back at her and wishes her luck (8 insight)

Moving Through Town

M, G, Banso and Draekos avoid the guard routes Syyrik pointed out and head to Garrin’s, finding a two-story building with a slightly ajar door and a staircase leading upstairs
M steps aside and Gestures to the door for G to approach
G walks up and knocks, not getting a response she heads up the stairs and M follows
Draekos and Banso stay outside, commiserating about the struggles of trying to find hoods that looks alright over their heads

Checking On Garrin

G calls out for Garrin and hears what sounds like someone falling out of a chair, followed by fumbling and shuffling as he calls out “Just a minute” M calls back and asks if he’s naked, he says he’s not and the sound of fumbling and shifting of objects continues
A few minutes later Garrin opens the door looking a little disheveled and greets them saying “Hey, you came... with Micarafae?” G walks up and hugs him, saying she’s glad he’s alright as M pretends to gag off to the side
Garrin seems momentarily taken aback before kneeling down and returning her hug
He gently pulls away and looks G in the eyes and says, “Some crazy stuff’s gone down, hasn’t it?” G nods and Garrin says every time he leaves her or comes to see her crazy stuff happens and it hasn’t been that long since he last saw her, but she’s got a look in her eye
G says some really crazy stuff has happened and he does a big sigh and asks if she wants him to tag along
M says she was going to suggest he go back to Genevieve’s Inn and go with the group to The Radiant Hall and tells him to pack some things
G can see past Garrin into his place that he very hastily cleaned the room, spotting a couple of pencils and a toothbrush in a mug still containing coffee (perception G 20, M 10)
Garrin says he doesn’t have a lot to pack but he’ll need a minute to get everything
He invites them in and grabs a bag and starts packing while M turns to G and asks if they should walk him back since they know a safe route, G nods
On the way M and G fill him in on everything that happened, Garrin leans into M and comments that it looks like someone planted a lot of red flowers around, M tells him not to touch them as she blasts a nearby one with fire bolt
M says so far fire has been the best way to destroy them but if he can get rid of it without touching it like with a plank of wood or something to do so and also clean up blood if he sees it because they seem to grow from blood but reiterates not to touch them unless he wants to witness the persons death through their eyes, he cringes
As they walk back M stops to peer down a nearby road into the town square and sees a dense field of red flowers, mumbling to herself that this is what she was worried about (perception 14)
She walks back to join the group and says they’re going to need a lot of flammable stuff

Pit Stop at Genevieve’s

As they’re heading back in, they bump into Giuseppe who is completely unaware of anything, whistling and looking at the sky as he walks towards the door and bumps into Garrin
He greets everyone cheerfully and M says some shit has gone down and asks if he feels safe at home, he interrupts her and says he always feels safe at home
She blinks at him and says, “If a bunch of homicidal guards come rushing at you, do you think you’ll be able to fend them off?” He thinks about it for a little too long and says he thinks he could take on at least one
M says there’s not that many left as they’ve taken out over 100 of them, he looks at her with confusion and says, “You did what?”
She says it’s a long story and shit’s crazy, then asks what his grandfathers name is
Giuseppe says his name is Dugan Delacroix
M puts a hand between his shoulder blades and pushes him and Garrin inside saying to the group that they will be joining them to go to the radiant hall
Giuseppe asks where Genevieve is and M says that she’s been petrified, same with Alaric, he says maybe he should go back home
M says he will be safer at The Radiant Hall as Jazen slips an arm around his shoulders, pulling him in, Giuseppe looks at M pleadingly and she says “Trust me, this is the more preferable option”
Jazen says he doesn’t want to die and turn into a flower as he gives M a wink and pulls Giuseppe over to the rest of the group

Vaeloria Estate

On the way M walks beside Banso and asks if he’s a bard, he says, “more or less” and she then asks what college he’s from, he says he didn’t spend much time with the college but he’s a part of The College of Lore, M says she’s also a Lore bard and he seems to take a little pride in traveling with like-minded company
The group make their way to the abode of House Vaeloria, finding themselves outside of a pristine, white stone wall that surrounds a dense field of larger than normal trees, and an unguarded iron gate
M looks in the guard towers to see if anyone is in there but doesn’t find anyone, so walks up to the gate to check if it is unlocked
Giving it a good look over she discerns that it’s probably unlocked, but that it would take a fair bit of strength to open it
She looks at the group, looks at the gate, looks at her arms, looks at the gate and then back to the group
G steps up to open it and does so with ease.
D pats her on the back and says “Nice” as he walks past and onto the property with the rest of the group
The path leading up to the house is a winding dirt road surrounded by well-manicured grass and plants reminiscent of an Elven forest but kept in such a way as to obscure ones sight
M looks to Draekos and asks if they’ve gotten more paranoid since she was last there, he comments on how he had attempted to recreate something like this back in Ravenswood Bluff but was never able replicate the trees and adds “To answer your question, yes, I very much think they have become more paranoid”
M says “Hopefully it’s serving them well, given the circumstances”

The Gatehouse

A little ways along the path they come across a small gate house with a single Elf man asleep inside and snoring loudly, M knocks and they don’t wake up
M tells everyone to stand back from her as she takes a couple steps back from the house before casting Thunderclap to try and startle them awake
The elf exclaims in surprise and hits his head on the nearby shelf, knocking a couple things off and repeatedly fumbles his scimitar as he tries to grab it, before realising he’s not under attack and puts it on his hip before gathering up the books he knocked off and greets the group
He says he assumes they were let in and M says that the gate was actually unguarded, and he seems rather panicked before welcoming them to the estate and introducing himself as Neil and asks if they are expecting them
M says “I don’t believe they are, but my name is Micarafae, formerly Lady Micarafae Mildmore” he stands up straighter
M adds “And this is Lord Draekos Dawnspire” who leans against the wall and snorts as Neil gets more visibly flustered
M looks to G and says she doesn’t actually know if she has a title, G says “I’m Gwinri from House Frostbelt”
M introduces Banso who is crouched down trying to feed a bunny some of his rations before standing up straight and walking over saying he’s their herald
Neil tells the group to follow him and heads out of the gatehouse, Draekos says “that kid’s a mess” and goes and blows out a candle the closes and locks the door before following along
M says she kind of feels bad for startling him awake but it was also quite funny and Banso shuffles up beside her and ^ and leans in saying “Have you guys ever seen, and I don’t want to be mean but, an overweight elf?”
M says, “Depends on your definition of overweight, but my father certainly wasn’t the fittest of men” Banso nods and says he doesn’t want to come across as racist, but he’s never seen an overweight elf such as Neil M says, with a hint of disdain “They’re normally far to vain for that” as they continue walking

Vaeloria Manor

Neil leads them up to a grand abode with two spires on either side of the back, he knocks on the door and two guards step out, whispering to them and pointing back to the group before returning and saying they’re going to fetch Lady Selene Vaeloria and asks if they want something to eat in the meantime, M says she’s alright but Banso asks what they have and the two start talking about food
After a few moments Lady Selene steps out with Raven hair, pale skin and piercing violet eyes dress in a red and black gown and looks at Neil who instructs the group to follow him as Lady Selene makes her way around the side of the house to a pavilion on the garden

Talking with Lady Selene

They come to a large tree stump that has been worked into a nice table with wooden stools and one wooden chair, which Lady Selene takes
M curtsies before taking a seat, Draekos gives a deep bow and takes a seat to her left, G also bows before taking a seat
Banso sticks back with Neil and chats with him
Lady Selene interlocks her fingers and places them before her, looking the group over and says she assumes they’re all here because of the summons to the town square that happened the previous day
M says it is related to that, Selene says she’s surprised to have received an invitation
M asks her how much she is aware of and she says she knows what her personal guard have reported, M takes this to be truthful but recognises she is being vague (insight 10)
M asks based on the reports how bad does she think things to be, Selene says she’s in an interesting potion as on one hand she and offer from a gentleman that she has yet to accept, M nods as her suspicions are confirmed
Selene continues saying that on the other hand they don’t know who they’re dealing with, M says “Why do you think we came to you?”
Selene straightens and says, “And you know who you’re dealing with?” M says, “Enough to know not to underestimate you” and Selene squints at her before returning to normal
M says “you know my ex-husband" Selene acknowledges the statement but doesn’t respond, M continues saying she’s no stranger to this kind of stuff and she knows the value of having powerful allies
Selene asks what their offer is, if they are to become allies, M says it’s not very glamourous, but the need help saving the town
Selene says the offer given to her is that if she leaves the town for a time, on her return half the town will be hers but it seems it’s not sitting right with her
Draekos says he finds it interesting that she’s been given time to decide, and she says she was supposed to answer 3 days ago but something must be keeping “him” busy, her eyes landing on G who feels a little intimidated (charisma save 12)
Selene asks what her offer is, M says there won’t be much left of the town, and they’ll have to put a lot of time and effort into rebuilding and repopulating, Selene says that’s something she has no issue with
M says she also does not trust that this individual is being truthful with her, and she says that she knows
Selene asks again what her offer is M says she has a lot of information she has gathered not just about her ex-husband but about many of the noble houses in Aureveria, Selene says “Now we’re talking, and you’re willing to part with the information upon, what exactly?”
M says “Frankly just knowing that you won’t take his offer” Selene asks if that’s all she would like, M says what she would like is her support and ally-ship in times to come and knowing they have backup and someone powerful on their side would be a great boon
Selene says she likes the sound of this but what to sweeten the deal and looks to G and asks if she’s from Khazard-Vrax, the only mountain that can produce frost steel, G nods, Selene says she would like to procure some of it and asks if that’s something she could arrange, G says she will try, M looks to her and says they will figure something out, sensing her uncertainty about actually getting some
Draekos looks uncertain about what he has to offer before speaking up and saying he has a place out in the bluffs for her people if they ever wanted to relocate
Selene looks at him like it’s the first time he’s been of use and says if he survives she and him will have a chat
Draekos says “Alright ladies, time to go, I think we have a deal” Selene says “Presumptuous, but yes, I won’t take his deal, I will get information from you, and some frost steel, and maybe I’ll take you up on your offer as well” Draekos says she has to bring the trees
M looks to Selene and asks if she had any questions for them, she asks if they have seen the young boy with the shocking white hair, M calls over Banso who steps up and says that they have and he is doing well in spite of where he is, Selene asks what that means and he says the boy is working for Nekros, Selene cuts him off and tells him not to say his name
Selene says, “He’s working for him?” Banso says he is and Selene uncharacteristically lets out a frustrated sigh and says “Really?! I can’t believe that boy. Imagine, a Human I actually liked...”
M asks if he is familiar to her and she says yes and he’s the only human she’s let on the grounds in a very long time
M says he may not be there by his own volition, but she can’t say that for certain
Selene asks that if they see him, to try talk him out of it and send him back to her, M says they will do their best
M also warns her that Nekros has ways of charming even those of Elven blood with concerning ease and that she doesn’t know if he would attempt it but he managed to do so to her
Selene says she’s got many protections in place, and she’s not worried about it
M hears the faintest of footsteps and looks up into the trees and along the roof she sees around 30 elves in various kinds of camouflage (perception 23+3 from Earcuff of the Vampire Bat)
M makes eye contact with one and winks, they wink back
Selene says that they would have to charm quite a few hard to see people as she can see M can see
M says “Again, there is a reason we came to you” Selene says she won’t take his offer and that her estate is probably the safest place in the town, but she might abandon it, looking to Draekos, but she’s undecided if she will send help
M says perhaps she could sweeten the deal further and pulls out her notebook of rumour and intel she had gathered over the years, flipping to the page about Selene and sliding the book across the table and says she will burn the page
Selene scoffs and rolls her eyes saying “Fine. Fine, send the boy to me, and I will send him back to you. Trust me, he’s an asset. But I warn you, he will not listen to you, he does what he pleases and I’m very surprised he’s taken in league with that filth”
M says that they will do their best and they have their ways, Selene nods and sends them on their way
M as a show of faith rips the page out of her book and burns it in her hand, Selene nods slowly in response
G is very in her own head thinking about how she’s going to convince her family to give away some frost steel, Draekos nudges her as it’s time to leave and they stand
M stands and offers another curtsy and says, “A pleasure as always” Selene says “indeed” and returns a small curtsy before turning to leave

Heading back

Draekos says that went way better than he thought it would, though she was kind of vague in terms of what her help would be, M agrees
Neil leads the group back out the gate, M hands him two gold and apologises for starling him and he says he can’t take it, Draekos raises an eyebrow and Neil says he’s not the coin
As they get to the gate Neil tugs at M’s sleeve and pulls her aside asking if she’s single now, she says that’s a very complicated question, he starts backing up, obviously embarrassed and tries to close the heavy gate but failing miserably
M says, “I’m also a lesbian” and he says “Oh, no of course you are, should have known” and continues to lose the fight against the gate
M gets anxious as she realises that’s the first time she’s said that to anyone but A, X or Syyrik and Draekos pulls her by the other arm, telling her to come along as G takes pity of Neil and opens the gate for him, much to his relief
As they walk back M says to G “I don’t know how much you know about my ex-husband, and his involvement with your folks. I know frost steel is very hard to get a hold of, because I was the one writing letters on his behalf trying to persuade your family to talk business”
G says “Yeah, my uncle probably would have been the one who would have known about all that. I sort of did all the physical work, I didn’t get to see much of the paperwork, so I wasn’t often aware of where everything was going, except for when I went out for deliveries”
M says they’ll figure something out when it comes to getting Lady Vaeloria the frost steel she asked for

On the Way to The Radiant Hall

Lili, Jazen, T and Grimdahl gather Giuseppe, Garrin and Moritha to leave, Jazen steps up to take the lead saying they’re going to The Radiant Hall and then to somewhere, turning to Lili to ask where they’re going
She says they’re going to The Reverie Sanctum and then maybe to Dawns Grace Chapel “with the prick bag” Jazen asks which one has the frog and Lili says the one with the prick bag
Jazen says he likes the frog and Lili says she does too
Lili said there was also talk of seeing Giuseppe’s grandfather, Jazen says he hasn’t met the bloke, but he’s heard good things and eyes B
T steps up to Jazen and assess whether it’s worth letting him lead the group and says, “Alright human, go, lead” (insight 17)
Jazen says “Alright, don’t need your permission” and heads out
Moritha steps up next to Lili, Grimdahl follows Jazen, Garrin and Giuseppe chat with each other and T and K take up the back
Derek gets up from K’s shoulder and says I wonder if I could pull the bull’s horns” and flies up to T’s head, K trying to grab him to stop him but missing completely (dex save nat 1)
Derek lands on T’s head and grabs both his horn, pulling on them and letting out a gleeful cry
T turns to K and asks if it takes a lot to re-summon Derek, K says they’d have to wait an hour to get him back and T resorts to just flicking Derek from his horns
K catches him as he falls and asks what he learned, Derek says he’s gotta stop fucking with people
K tells him to ask first and he says “Oh, I’m allowed to fuck with people if they let me?” K pats him on the head and puts him back on her shoulder
Jazen starts leading the group through town, avoiding the patrol routes Syyrik spoke about, but decides to go through the town center, Lili asks why they’re going that way, saying they should probably get the others to safety first and Jazen says that he’s pretty sure this is a shortcut
K reminds people not to touch the flowers they pass by them
As they come upon the town square, they can see blood red vines growing from where Lady Elira Blackthorn, Tarruk, Nekros and Orrinar Frostbelt had been standing the day previous, drawing a path from the smaller flowers surrounding the area and leading towards one massive flower growing in the center
Jazen says he doesn’t want to fuck with that and heads in the opposite direction
Lili contemplates touching it
Luka but decides against it as she notices the crystalline shimmer of the vines and rhythmic pulsing of the flower itself, seemingly drawing blood or power from the smaller flowers around it (perception K 14, Lili 20)
K tries to ascertain if she’s seen anything like it before and concludes she hasn’t but concludes it must have happened because of how much death happened in this area (nature 5)
She also believes it to be Nekros’ work (intelligence 6)
Lili stops and stares at it, saying it’s kind of pretty and Jazen immediately grabs her hand and pulls her away
T looks at it and lets out a huff of disdain feeling this definitely isn’t right, saying “Fucking flower” before moving on (nature nat 1)
They easily make their way past the few guards patrolling and outside of the town gates (stealth K 12, Lili 13)

Outside Town

Lili gets the feeling that something is definitely off since the last time coming this way, she feels something is off, but she can’t see it, K just feels that something is wrong with the grass (perception K 9, Lili 12)
Lili stops and says she has a weird feeling that something is wrong, Jazen says, “It’s called love, baby” and kisses her own the cheek
K and Moritha say they feel it too
T asks how much death had occurred her in the past week (intelligence 18)
Jazen looks to K to answer, and she says more than she would like to admit and more than should have
T kneels down and digs into the earth with his hand, pulling out a handful of dirt, revealing a red flower that has yet to break the surface. He looks at the rest of the group and shakes his head
Lili crouches down beside him to see what he’s doing, and he says that something isn’t right
T asks if blood magic could be linked to some kind of circle magic, K says it definitely can (history 12)
Lili says Lunae was in a ritual circle of blood when B killed her and completed the ritual
T digs deeper, avoiding the flower and eventually there’s a snap and he pulls up a severed hand, he tosses it aside and says he doesn’t have a good feeling about this, and they should keep moving
Jazen says “Yep, fuck that” and starts walking
Lili walks beside T and very not subtly tries to compare the size of her hand to his
Grimdahl walks up to them and tells Lili she has tiny hands, she says they’re dainty
T offers her his hand and she takes it as they walk together

The Radiant Hall

Some repairs are visible, after the Tensen attack
Rebecca is outside doing dance-like attacks on the training dummy, but they’re mostly just flourishes and not attacks
Lili walks up and starts critiquing her technique, Lili turns around and sees them with a big smile on her face, Jazen gets down on one knee and says he missed her, but Rebecca runs straight past him to Lili and gives her a hug
Jazen asks where Candace is and Rebecca says she’s inside with everyone else and leads them inside
Natalie and Ossandra greet them, some new embroidery visible on their dresses
Candace is in a corner reading
Alya walks up, not in her regular mirror like armour and greets everyone
Lili goes and sits next to Candace who looks up and starts telling her about the book she’s reading on divine and paladin based magic
Althea walks up to K and asks what the occasion for this visit is, K says they have a few more people who need shelter and checking in to see how they’re doing after everything
Althea says they haven’t ventured into the town since before the attack and they’re still mostly licking their wounds, K says she wouldn’t recommend going in, Althea asks if she thinks they wouldn’t be of service and K says they need to make sure the townsfolk are protected and that there aren’t a lot left after the attack on the town square
Kael walks up, crossing his arms and nodding as K talks and asks K to explain in more detail and that they haven’t heard anything and K goes over the details with them
Lili goes to find Sid, finding him washing dishes, he says he’s just trying to do his part, and Lili runs up and gives him a kiss, causing Jazen to react with a fake gag
Lili says she’s glad he’s ok because everyone at The Jolly Jackalope was turned to stone and she was worried, he says “Like gorgons? I haven’t fought any of those, that’s some high-level stuff”
He says they’ve not seen anything out that way apart from a couple guards, K says to be careful as a lot of the guards have been compromised, Sid asks if that’s transmittable and Lili giggles because she is a mature adult
Lili says “Oh, not like that!” Jazen says “Of course not like that”
K looks over to Grimdahl to see if he knows any more than they do, Lili thinks about it but doesn’t know shit (intelligence 8)
T says from what he has observed he doesn’t think it works like that, having had experience being ensorcelled by Micarafaux
Jazen asks Althea if they have room for them and she says they’ve put some bunks in two of the cells in preparation for more people arriving
Lili turns to K and says didn’t she say the guy at the graveyard said he had room for people to stay with him, Sid and Althea look at each other and say that’s good to know and the could either have a secondary location or all converge in one space, but they will be in touch with Belric
K says whatever they end up doing to let the group know, they say they’ll send Alya with any new information
As they’re finishing talking Lili sneaks up behind Kael, jumping up on his back and whispers in his ear that he owes her a rematch, he turns around and pushes he against the wall, playfully saying “Anytime girl”
Jazen sighs saying, “another one?” and starts counting on his fingers, Lili winks at Kael and then at Jazen who has looked away at this point

Talking to Candace and Rebecca

Lili pulls Candace and Rebecca into a side room and sits down on the bed with them and asks how they’re doing
Candace says she’s been learning lots and Alya might teach her some magic
Rebecca says she’s almost beat Kael and she’s going to get him next time
Lili looks at the floor and says she went back to Madame Starla, they ask her what she saw about her past
Lili says she saw how she died and the girls get a confused but serious look about them and ask her to explain
She said she sacrificed herself, Rebecca pokes her and says “No you didn’t” Lili says she doesn’t know how it works just that she asked how she lost her memories and that’s what she learned
Candace is nervously fidgeting and says she would really like to hear more about it, but she has a feeling that Lili is going to say she can’t stay, Rebecca says “You’re going back out there, aren’t you?” Candace starts tearing up and hugs Lili, telling her not to die, Rebecca calls Candace a wimp as she tears up also and joins the hug and tells her not to die again
Lili says she needs to help because the only person who seems to be able to point her in the right direction regarding her past is stone
Jazen comes in and asks what all the waterworks are for, Rebecca punches him
He asks if Lili is ready to go, she says in a minute and he nods and leaves the room, leaning against the wall by the door
Lili says she has a lot of questions and that apparently, she was in love with Xeranova’s sister
Rebecca blushes at the mention and seems even more interested in hearing about it
Lili says “She was there, and begging me not to sacrifice myself for ‘him’”
Candace asks who “him” is, Lili says she has no idea and she was going to ask X but “she’s all hard”
Jazen snorts from around the corner, followed by a pained grunt from K punching him for eavesdropping
Jazen says he already knows everything they’re talking about
Candace says they would love to help her and Rebecca says especially if it means talking to X
Lili smiles at her and says it seems like she’s a bit more accepting of that part of herself now, Rebecca smiles say “it’s not as scary as I thought it would be to be. I’m accepting a lot of things now, actually, but we can talk about that another time”
Lili says they’ll talk about it when she comes back and both girls nod, giving Lili a big hug before she walks out to join the rest
She walks out to hear Jazen and K talking, Jazen saying he’s allowed to eavesdrop because he knows them, K says she does to and Jazen says he liberated them from being slaves, Lili says he didn’t, she got out on her own and went to him and he says it’s close enough, Lili punches him
Jazen says “Next time you do that, Collin’s going to have something to say” Lili gets quiet and sheepish, obviously uncomfortable at the mention
Jazen says he didn’t mean it like that, and Lili calls him a meanie before trying to punch him again, but he manages to dodge it

Heading Back

As the head out they can hear Moritha, Giuseppe and Garrin introducing themselves to everyone, followed by Rebecca challenging Giuseppe to a fight and him accepting
Lili hesitates kind of wanting to watch that, K puts a hand on her shoulder and says “same”
Lili walks next to K and compliments her feathers
As they are walking, they hear a voice asking what they had to do over there and why they left town (perception Lili 20, K 15, T 7 vs stealth 25)
They look across the way and see a young boy with shocking white hair sitting on the edge of the bridge, Lili says they were smuggling chocolate, the kid says Chocolate isn’t so much his thing, Lili says he obviously hasn’t had good chocolate
He hops up and puts his hands in his pockets, Lili asks what his name is and he says it’s Luka and asks her what her name is, she says Lilinara Luka says it’s a cool name and she thanks him
Lili asks what he is doing and he says he was told to go do something but didn’t really feel like doing it
K asks if he minds her asking who told him to do something and he says “maybe”
Lili says if it was boring then she’s totally on his side, he was it was really boring and he doesn’t even know if he wants to be with him anymore
Lili asks if he’s mean, Luka says he can deal with mean but he’s kind of weird
Lili asks, “weird how?” he says, “Who has in his employ, someone who can turn people into dolls, that’s weird, right?” K and Lili agree and Luka says he tried to turn him into one, but he kept dodging the sheet he kept throwing, K and Lili say that’s rude in unison
Lili says he shouldn’t have to go back if he doesn’t want to, he says he would rather be doing his own thing and he has a place to go but he hasn’t decided what’s best for him
Lili asks him what he would rather be doing and he says he really likes fighting and stops hopping from foot to foot
Lili and K notice a subtle shift in his eyes as he does a couple jabs in the air in front of him (perception K 18, Lili 21)
His voice lowers as he asks if they want to spar, they get the feeling he’s not joking, and he probably doesn’t need permission (insight Lili 15, K 13)
Lili meets his eyes and says, “weapons or no weapons?”
He pulls out a whip and drops in on the ground saying “No weapons, but magic...” with a smile as him hand alights with sparks
Luka looks at Lili and says, “I only need her” and points at K
Lili asks why he needs her, other than her being very pretty
T steps up and Luka says “I’ll need him too, dead or alive”
Lili casts suggestion and says “How about you come back inside and meet the others? Have some food, maybe spar with Kael” he saves with 18
He lightens up a little and says “I am tired though, maybe another day. I don’t even know if I wanna do this” he leans against the bridge and says he hasn’t decided yet
Lili says it sounds like his hearts not in it and he says it’s definitely not, but he does love fighting
K tells him if he goes into The Radiant Halls and gets some food and rest in a couple days, she will fight him, he says how about they have a one on one now and if she wins, he’ll owe her a favour, but if he wins he’ll take her back to “him”
T asks Luka if he’d say that if he was fighting him, Luka says he’d take him, both if he had to, that it would be fun for him
Lili mentions that is there is an underground fighting pit if he really wants to fight
Jazen says “I don’t think you guys understand, he is crazy, this is not how you deal with crazy”
Luka says “No pit. If I’m gonna fight I wanna fight now” sounding childish as he does so
Grimdahl pushes past everyone and right up to Luka and says “Listen here you little wank stain” and grabs him, Luka tries to make an attack against him but misses with 15 as Grimdahl dodges out of the way
Luka says “Maybe you guys would give me some trouble” Lili says “Bet you couldn’t take all of us” he says he could try
Lili says if they win then he comes back with them, he says he can do that and asks if they’re doing this
Lili looks to the rest of the group, Jazen says they’re not fighting some kid, Lili thinks there’s maybe something more to it but can’t put her finger on it (insight 2)
Luka starts hoping from foot to foot and sparks start to appear around his feet
K approaches to shake his hand, he says “So we’re doing this?” Lili and K affirm and he grabs K’s hand and uses Shock Palm, hitting her with a 20, she makes her con save with a nat 20 and isn’t stunned but takes 12 damage but she doesn’t feel the familiar buzzing a champion would have

Genevieve’s

B finishes working on his weapon with George revealing a large slab like blade with a sickle-like shape at the tip with Shab teeth chaining out from either side of it and the hilt, guard and pommel are made from the shell of the Shab with a trigger mechanism built into it. Inlaid on the blade is Draconic script.
George also takes the time to transcribe one of the runes he was able to commit to memory from the apprentice to the stone lord this one being a sigil of the rooster which would grant the wielder flight
G, M, Draekos and Banso arrive back around this time
G sits down at the bar where she finds V trying to keep himself busy by cleaning and looking after the kitchen
He greets her as she sits down and asks if she’s ok, she says there’s a lot to think about, he says “I know, my daughter was kidnapped by a clown who can turn people into dolls, so I understand” and places a hand on her shoulder before handing her a bottle of whiskey, which she eagerly takes, seeing that he grabs another one to hand to her and asks if she would like some company she nods and he pours himself a drink
M walks in and shakes herself off and lets out a big sigh, saying she does not miss that life
Banso says they started acting weird once they saw Lady Selene, like they were hiding their true selves, M says that’s exactly what it is and Draekos says “It’s not that, it’s just people. I think she’d be that way if she were noble or not” M agrees and says the nobility doesn’t help
Alastros walks up to M and says B has been working the entire time they were gone, she asks if that’s a bad thing, he says he doesn’t know, but he doesn’t think B has peed in a while, or drank, maybe she should check on him
M looks at B and says, “Need a potty break?” B looks up, only just realising they’re back, he says “What?” M says “Do you need a potty break? Alastros is worried you haven’t peed in a while” He looks confused and says “No?”
M looks back to Alastros and says, “He’s fine” Alastros shrugs and B goes back to polishing
M gets a cup of water and places it down beside B, he grunts in acknowledgment and she looks to Draekos and says, “Am I right in think that’s Draconic for ‘thank you’?” he gives her a big smile and says “Suuree..”
M sits down and says they got her to agree to not take the deal with Nekros, B is not surprised he offered her a deal also
George reverts into his orb form before settling into the form of a gorget around B’s neck
M says that’s new, B says it is new and she says, “So is this” and snaps her fingers, popping Ember out again and gives them chin scratches while B confusedly tapping on George
George takes that as B wanting him to go into his full helmet form and melds around B’s head, improving his vision and giving him a head’s-up display with a little pop up that says “Micarafae” in Draconic when he looks at her
B gets startled by all this and flips the table, George says, “That wasn’t advisable” and B grabs at his head, panickily asking George what he is doing
M asks if that’s a new feature and George says that is one of his new, upgraded functions, she asks, “Flipping tables?” and George says “No, that’s him”
B gradually calms and accepts what is going on and tells George to get off his face, George reverts to his orb form as B picks up the table and sets it back where it was
B tells George to warn him next time before he does something insane and terrifying before instructing him to do “the neck thing” and George obliges
B sits back down, takes a deep breath and grabs the water and has a drink
M updates everyone on what was talked about, about the kid with the white hair that Lady Selene told them about
Before mentioning anything about frost steel M looks to G to check if she thinks it’s ok to mention in present company, G nods
When it is mentioned, George says he would love to analyse a sample as it’s something Zaolu doesn’t have access to
G says it’s very had to get access to, and B says it sounds like they’re going to have to at some point
M also mentions the field of blood flowers she saw growing in the town square
As they settle in and wait for the other to rejoin, M asks B if he’s talked to that sword yet, B asks if she means the one he’s going to replace Nekros’ spine with and she says yes
She says she was curious about it and asks if she could see it, he hands it over, still wrapped in cloth and leather
She unwraps it and places a hand on it, hearing a muffled voice, she gets the feeling that something might be blocking its ability to communicate and after spending 10 minutes working on it, is able to clear the magical blockage that was there (arcana 13)

Talking to Orlando The Inquisitive Bloom

M hears a voice asking who she is, she introduces herself,
The sword asks where they are and she says they’re in the middle of a shit show
The sword asks what kind of shit show this is and she says “A pretty nasty one with a lot of innocent people dead” it asks how many are dead, she says she lost count and it says “that’s not a number. Or is it?” M says not to her knowledge
It asks how smart she is, she says she thinks she’s about average and the sword says it used to know someone who said they had average intelligence and asks if she knows them, she says she would need a name
The sword says, “I don’t know the name, do you know the name?” M says “The fact that I asked you for the name would indicate that I probably don’t know the name” it says “You’re probably right, that’s crazy”
M asks if it has a name and it says “Do I have a name? I’m Orlando” M says it’s nice to meet them and Orlando says “It’s nice to meet you too, please don’t ever let go”
M says she’s afraid she’s going to have to let go at some point, Orlando says “Oh, I suppose you gotta pee at some point, don’t you?” M says there’s other things she needs her hands for too
Orlando says she doesn’t really and she replies that it’s a little hard to play a lyre with a sword in hand, Orlando says “I see how that could be a problem” then asks what’s new with her, M gets the sense he will not stop talking
M says she has a question, Orlando says to ask away, and she asks how one comes to be a sword, Orlando says that’s a fascinating question and why she asks
M says she likes learning stuff and Orlando replies we all like learning stuff
She asks if they know the answer, they ask what the question was again, she repeats it, they say that’s a funny question
She says “Let me rephrase, were you something else before you were a sword” they say if they were the don’t remember and asks if M was something else before she was herself
M says “Well, if you really get down to the nitty gritty, we’re all made up of base elements, so I would assume that before I formed in my mother’s uterus that the parts that make up me now were something else”
Orlando says we all grow and M asks if swords grow, Orlando says they do and to just stick them in the earth to see, M says they were told about the flower growing
M asks if they like being a sword, Orlando says they’ve never been anything else as far as they recall and asks if M would want to be a sword, she says probably not and Orlando seems offended, M adds that it seems lonely
Orlando says It's only lonely as long as no one is holding you and she says that’s exactly her point
Orlando says “Sometimes when no one’s holding you, you kind of go in between states of being, not quite dead, not quite alive” M says that doesn’t sound like the most enjoyable thing, Orlando says “It’s a livin’”
M asks if they can imagine being anything other than a sword, Orlando says maybe they could be two swords
She asks if they could be anything other than a sword what would they want to be, they ask what she is, she says she’s an elf, Orlando says they’d pick that, M says that’s not a bad choice
M asks if they know who made them, or if they were made, Orlando says “That’s a great question, all I know is, they weren’t evil”
M says that’s good because they’re currently fighting evil and she doesn’t need more of it in her life
Orlando says they don’t like evil and M says that’s makes two of them, Orlando says that’s crazy
M says, “My friend plans to plunge you into the back of this evil bastard we’re going to fight, you ok with that?” Orlando says it sounds exciting and asks if they get to talk to them, M tells them to go nuts and Orlando says they can’t wait
M says “You sound like you’re excited to get real deep inside him” Orlando says “You know it! Get me right deep in there, we’ll show him!”
M says, “Would you rather go in from the top or the bottom?” Orlando says it doesn’t matter to them, M says “Versatile sword, we love it”
Orlando says “You know it! You could use one hand or two!”
M says she’s going to hand them back to B now and Orlando says, “Love you, bye!”
M wraps Orlando back up and hands it to B saying she removed the thing that was preventing them from talking so he can have a conversation with them now
B, deadpan, replies “Oh thank the gods, that’s exactly what I wanted”
M says “They did seem really excited about getting inside Nekros though, so they're with you on that plan. They said they don’t have a preference on going in from the top or the bottom, they’re pretty versatile, said you could do it one handed or two handed and they want to get real deep inside him. Do with that what you will” and she walks off
B sits in stunned silence rubbing his temples, George says he doesn’t know what to make of that and B says “I don’t either, George. Let’s just pretend that conversation never happened”
