Astraday 23/05/2345

Ravenswood

The Scarlet Spire

M wakes up and worried about Micarafaux having her memories and knowledge writes a quick note to B and G to tell them to let Moritha, Thalos and anyone else important know what happened the code phrase and get the ring from Moritha so it’s safer with them, taking 10 minutes to ritual cast Illusory Script
M hands the notes to one of the Crimson Wing workers, asking for it to be sent asap, they tell her it’ll be sent off in about 10 minutes
K, M, S and X get called up to the 3rd floor M knows the drill somewhat, having traveled via Dire Cardinal before but K hasn’t so the caretaker gives them the run down, saying "All right, you don't need to do anything. The Dire Cardinals know where they're going and know what they're doing based on the paperwork that was submitted earlier. Any attempt to change or redirect the flight, you will be ejected forcefully.”
Everyone gets ready to board and although the Dire Cardinals aren’t supposed to show affection while they are working, M and K’s both lower themselves down to aid them as they go to climb atop them, the handler looks at them both and saying “Alright, something interesting about you all” (animal handling K 22, M 19)
Ember settles down on M’s lap and S makes herself comfortable in front of K, Derek giving her a little territorial hiss. K says “Derek, be nice, I’m just putting her in front of me” Derek says “Listen, I don’t have to like her” and K says “I would appreciate it if you two got along” Derek grumbles but gives her a nod
X goes to climb atop her Dire Cardinal but doesn’t get as warm a reception as K and M (Animal handling 6)
X looks to M looking a little unsure and climbs on, M says, “Can’t win everyone” and they all take off

Genevieve’s Inn

B takes first shift C asks if he wants company on first watch, B says yes, C asks if B wants him on the roof tops across or inside with him, B says stay inside as to not arouse suspicion
C looks like he’s about to say something, starting to reach into his cloak but withdrawing his hand and just gives B a nod and heads to watch out a window
B can tell that he was thinking about pulling out one of the skeleton poppets that he used in their first fight, feeling that undead sense as he reached into his cloak, B eyes him a little but doesn’t say anything (insight 17)
Everyone else turns in for the night, or until they take watch and heads to their rooms
B hears a rustling coming from Genevieve’s room (nat 1 perception) right as C sees something outside and tries to get B’s attention (20 perception)
C is somewhat frantically gesturing for B to come look out the window, as if to show him that someone is coming
B looks out and does indeed see a cloaked figure darting in between shadows, trying to remain unseen, but seemingly heading to Genevieve’s in a hurry but seems non-threatening
B studies the figure, looking for any sort of defining characteristic like uniform or insignia but doesn’t find anything
B taps on C’s shoulder, pointing to Genevieve’s room and telling him to check on it while he takes care of this, then picks up a chair and stands by the front door
Cloaked figure looks through the window and does not see B (19 stealth)
They then move towards the door and very slowly open it, walking in and immediately getting hit with a chair by B (20 attack) dealing 10 damage and send them tumbling into the wall
The cloak falls back to reveal a young Human man that B does not recognise
B puts the chair down and grabs, lifting him by the front of his shirt and asks him what he’s doing here (15 intimidation)
The man asks if this is Genevieve’s Inn and B says it is and the man says, “I’m looking for a High Elf, you might know her, she’s a bard” He seems really shifty and like he knows more but isn’t saying
B shakes him and tells him to spit it out and the man says “I’m looking for Micarafae, I’m looking for Lady Mildmore” sensing he only said that because it’s just the two of them
B’s grip on his shirt tightens and he asks what he wants with M, the man says he’s here to help her (nat 1 investigation)
The man says “I don’t know what I’ve done to earn this, but please, I’m honestly here to help Micarafae”
B lowers him to the ground but still maintains his grip on him and says “Boy, you need to start telling me exactly what you're here for before I lose my patience”
The man says “Hey, I didn't do anything to you. Do you know the name Sparky?”
B recalls Sparky Penwhistle was the one who wrote the article about M and Blen Mildmore that he read in the paper a few days back and that M had mentioned that she got in touch with him earlier that day
The man says, “If you put me down, I can prove it.” and B puts him down on the ground, letting go of his shirt and says “You make any moves, boy, and I’ll throw you across the room”
Having sized B up, he puts both his hands up and says “I’m going to reach into my cloak, ok?” and reaches into his cloak and deftly spins out two daggers, placing them down in front of B then pulls out a couple pouches and two letters, a Letter to Sparky Penwhistle and a letter to Syyric and points to them saying “See, this is one is to Sparky and this one is to Syyric” and looks at B, expecting him to see what’s on the letters
The man says “Now there’s something that Micarafae didn’t know, which was that I, Syyric am Sparky Penwhistle”
B stares at him as these names mean very little to him other than knowing the name Sparky and remembers that M had said she was hoping Sparky would be there so he could go with them to see Draekos (21 history)
B looks at them both but only sees an anonymous love letter and an anonymous tip about a strange cryptid like creature who can be heard cackling in the distance. And tries to see if something else is going on but can’t figure it out (arcana 7)
Syyric has clicked yet that M has used Illusory Script and is expecting B to see what he sees
Syyric looks at him and says “Not to give you a full history session, but um, Lord Mildmore back in New Dawnsbrooke started increasing how often he was...” he breaks eye contact with B and he looks sorrowful for a moment before continuing “...mistreating Micarafae, and I had connections to groups in New Dawnsbrooke and we were the reason she was able to escape.”
He meets B’s eye again and says "And that's how I knew. I knew she wasn't dead and he was just getting away with... I had to let people know somehow. "Then something clicks in his mind, and he just looks up at B again back at the paper, looks at you, and says, "Oh, does this say something different to you?”
B says "Yeah, this is an this is an article about some insane bullshit, and this one is a love letter."
Syyric takes the letter to Sparky Penwhistle and starts reading it to be saying "As per your article, I believe you have some information on my former husband, I would like to discuss it with you and offer some of my own in return. As a show of good faith I wish to offer you this little tidbit, and you are free to publish this section if you wish. However, I will warn you, you may already be at risk. He has a team of people who he tasks with quashing rumours and “taking care of” problematic people.” he pauses and adds "I knew this already." Before continuing to read “I assume this is a pen name, and I suggest you keep as few associations with your real name as possible.”
He looks at B again and adds “Trust me, you're the only person I've uttered this name to in probably four months." And continues reading “This particular lord is quite insecure about his height; he wears shows with hidden platforms and forbids his wives from wearing heels as he must appear to be at least 5 inches taller than them. He likes to look down on the women around him, it makes him feel superior.I believe we may be able to help each other, and maybe even be the beginning of his downfall should we wish it to be so. If you wish to meet, you can find me in Ravenswood performing at Genevieve’s Inn in the evenings. Stay until the end of my set, and wear something purple and we can talk. Stay safe and stay vigilant. I hope our paths may yet cross. Sincerely, the wife that got away”
Syyric folds up the letter again and B can see now that he is wearing a purple tunic and says "Okay, that does sound like something she would have written. So, I suppose you probably are who you say you are. Micarafae isn't here right now but she will be back later”
Syyric’s eyes lose a little luster and he says he can wait a bit longer then looks down at his daggers and says, “Do you mind?” B says he’ll allow it and Syyric picks them up, returning them to their places under his cloak
Syyric says “Normally people don’t get the drop on me, but you are quick and strong”
B says “You’ve caught me on a bad day, I’m a little on edge tonight” Syyric says “Well, if you want you can fill me in”
C walks around the corner, white in the face but blushing profusely, puts a hand on B’s shoulder and says “Be glad you weren’t the one to check on Genevieve” then turns and heads straight to his room
B returns his attention to Syyric and tells him "All I'm going to tell you right now is Micarafae's ex-husband seems to be involved with some shady figures here” Syyric sighs and says “Of course he is”
B adds “Some of those shady figures want us dead, some of them want us for other things, I’m not quite sure on that” Syyric looks alarmed when B says they want him dead, like he wasn’t expecting that to be the case
B hears a little tapping at the window and looks out to see a small cardinal with a note attached to its leg as well as the garb of The Crimson Wing
B reads the note from M asking them to inform Moritha and Thalos of what’s going on and to collect the ring
B knocks on G’s door to wake her up and says “Gwinri, we’ve got shit to do” G asks if it’s her turn
B fills her in, showing her the letter as J comes out of her room and says “Oh, Gwinri, you got an early switch too it looks like”
B says “Jineyih, you keep an eye on the place, if anything happens, wake Corvin and Genevieve and I don't know, like does anybody know how to make like an explosion or something?” J says she’s been specifically told not to wake up Genevieve
B says “If people are specifically trying to murder her, I feel like she needs to be awake, but fair enough” then thinks for a moment before saying “Jineyih, if anything happens, you need to tell George” then looks to George and says “If she comes and tells you something's going on, go up to the roof and just start shooting fire at the sky.” George says he can to that and B turns to G telling her they have work to do and they head out

Ravenswood Bluffs

As they get close the see lots of construction seeing lots of little communities being built, seemingly around different cultures, seeing a Gnome section, a dwarven section among a number of others
They also see the deconstruction/reconstruction of Draekos’ manor, the old stone brick being taken down in exchange for a dark, shiny obsidian like rock
They also see a number of Dragonborn statues, seemingly of figures from history, gods and folk tales, M recognises one from the last time she was here that has since been moved to make room for the other
K and S (19 perception) see a half constructed crimson wing building getting the sense that Draekos is expecting this community to be big enough to have a crimson wing tower, M doesn’t notice (Nat 1 perception)
They land and the birds carrying K and M give them an affectionate coo, the one X was on kicks up some dirt as it flies off. X says “I don’t like them” K says the feeling seems to be mutual
The group find them self on a dark stone road and K is able to tell the gold inlay does in fact to have real gold in it, thanks to the abilities given to her by Kallista
K says “Someone seems to have more money than they know what to do with” M Says, “Yeah, that’s always been a thing. He’s as ostentatious as ever I see”
X puts her hands behind her back and starts walking, looking around and says “It’s been some time, things are different” M says “Indeed they are. Shall we” and she gestures towards the door,
As they approach M can see the doors are different from what she remembers. K notices a silver inlay around the doors, seeing figures of otters all around them, noting they look like normal otters, but it’s odd to find that here
M takes the knocker and knocks it into the door, a loud clang echoing through the building
After a moment the door opens, revealing a dragonborn guard and an older, matronly dragonborn woman who says, “Who goes there?” M says she was hoping to speak with Lord Dawnspire, the woman says, “At this hour?” and M replies that it’s a bit of an emergency. The woman says “I don’t care if it’s an emergency, come back tomorrow”
M says “Please... could you at least tell him that the former Lady Mildmore is here?” X takes a step forward and says, “She’s asking quite nicely, please” (M persuasion 25)
The woman mutters the name to herself as she walks off. The guard looks at her then looks at them and says he’ll follow her and closes the door
M turns to look out over the land, distracting herself by taking in all the differences since she was last here
K does notice that M is uncharacteristically quiet, but given the circumstances it makes sense
S goes up to K and says “Is she ok?” K says “I don’t think she’s doing too well right now, but in time I’m sure she’ll be fine. You’re welcome to go over and talk to her” S says, “Do you think that will help?” K says it might
S flutters over to M and X, plopping herself down in front of them and says “Hey, um I don't know how to help, but I want you to know that I care about you. And I know I have no magic, but I want to help, ok” M pulls her into a hug, S hugs her back, her wings fluttering a little and X comments on how cute they are
The door opens rather quickly, and they see the guard from before and a large dragonborn with cobalt blue scales that shimmer under the moonlight, silver blue eyes, wearing a casual robe over his night things with a silver amulet around his neck that M doesn’t recall ever seeing him wear.
Draekos says “You know, I didn’t think it was true” M says, “Long time no see, may I come in?” He says, “To you as well” and bows to her as he says “You may” before looking over X and saying “And besides our... most loveable hostess, Xeranova, who do I have the pleasure of accompanying?” and looks to M to introduce them
M says “This is Kree, and this is Sylvara. I do believe you already met the rest of my party the other day, Gwinri and Bruzrik” Draekos says “Ah yes, the failed delivery. No matter, they were nice enough. Come in” and gestures for them to come inside
Draekos takes them down a long hallway with some scaffolding and little bits of incomplete construction and into a grand room with a large fireplace with an already roaring fire, a large table as well as a few couches and chairs

Meeting with Draekos

Draekos says “Please, sit” and takes a seat at the head of the table, M sits in the chairs nearest to him and everyone else takes a seat at the table
M looks around and says “Hmm, something seems different. Been doing a bit or redecorating perchance?” Draekos says “I’ve been doing a lot of redecorating, I have a plan to fully separate from Ravenswood, but that’s not why you’re here” M says “Well, tangentially related actually”
Draekos leans back in his chair, looking at everyone and says “Oh, what news do you bring?” M says “Too much frankly. I’m afraid there’s a bit of a ploy going on in Ravenswood right now” Draekos asks for more information and M says “Well, one involved party seeks to destroy Ravenswood, and the other involved party, being The Blackthorns, seek to use that opportunity to usurp power from you and House Vaeloria”
Draekos raises an eyebrow and says “You know, I haven’t been paying that much attention to Ravenswood lately, and you know what, I’m happier for it” He pauses a moment before continuing “But the people haven’t done anything wrong, are they in danger?” M says “Grave danger, I’m afraid. And there have already been many casualties, despite our efforts”
Draekos leans his head back and pinches the tip of his nose with a groan and says “Alright, tell me about it” M says, “We also have reason to believe that my darling husband might be involved” Draekos says “My favourite noble guest. Sure, of course he would. What is he rolled up in now?”
M says “I’ll be honest, this is going to sound absolutely batshit insane. so far what we do know is that there is someone in town currently by the name of Nekros who is the one orchestrating this plan”
Draekos looks to X and says “"And you've seen this Nekros." X says, "I think I have." Apparently, he's dull looking. Is that fair?” M says, “There's little remarkable about his appearance apart from his eyes.”
Draekos looks to S and K and says "What can you tell me about these eyes? What do I need to be looking out for?" K says they are green with a sliver of gold in one of them
M says, “We’ve run into him a couple of times now” Draekos says “You’ve run into him a couple of times and he still conspires?”
M says “Unfortunately, the first time we ran into him, we were presented with an opportunity where basically we could try and take care of him then, knowing that we were vastly outmatched and that we would be risking the life of a young woman that he has been holding hostage. Or we could let him go and rescue this young woman and we chose the latter.”
Draekos says “I suppose I would have done the same”
M says, “The most recent time was but an hour ago and there wasn't much we could do as he had managed to completely dominate me, and I was unable to act of my own volition.” (nat 20 persuasion)
Draekos leans forward, elbows on the table and fingers interlocked and says "So this Nekros he's not playing games. He's got power more than just a number besides or a mercenary group or he dominated you with magic.” M nods and Draekos adds “Can he do that now?”
M says “Well, he had done it through, and this is where it starts to get a bit insane sounding. He is able to possess people and he had possessed the body of an older lady who last night after I had performed at Genevieve's came up to me and presented me with a brooch that she said was her daughter's who had died and she didn't want it just sitting on a shelf and thought that it would be perfect for me.”
Draekos interrupts and says “Oh, darling. You didn't fall for the cursed gift, did you? It's the oldest trick in the book.” M sighs and nods and he adds “I'm very sorry to hear that happened to you, but your story is not as far-fetched as you may think.” he puts his hand on the amulet around his neck and adds, "Since you and I last met, thing more things have changed than just the architecture and new plans."
M notices the amulet he’s wearing is in the shape of a cresting wave made from sapphire
Draekos continues “I think the last time we met I don't think I had any magic. I didn't have any power besides political or coin. But things are a little different now. What do you need?”
M thanks him, reaching out to shake his hand and hears a familiar static buzzing
M starts laughing and Draekos looks confused, asking what’s so funny.
M calls K over and says, “Would you mind shaking my friend’s hand?” He says, “An odd request, I wouldn’t normally agree to, but...” and he extends his hand to K who takes it and also hears the buzzing
S realises what’s going on and says to herself “I remember when I used to be able to feel that”
Draekos says “What, clearly you’re happy about something?” M says, “You feel that right?” and puts her hand over his and K’s
He puts a finger over one ear and says, “You mean that annoying sound?” and pulls his hand away and says, “What are you guys doing to me?”
M says, “Does the name Nozzinth mean anything to you?” His eyes go wide and says, “How do you know about Nozzinth?” M bows and says “Champion of Korbus at your service”
His eyes go wide again and says “And you’re all champions of Korbus?” K says “Champion of Kallista”
S raises her hand and says “Champion, nothing I guess” M says “She is the one who brought us together. And Gwinri is the champion of Gwenzaline and Bruzrik the champion of Zaolu. We also have a champion of Felnara who is currently in the custody of Nekros and her father who is the champion of Xiranatos”
K says “Don’t forget our second champion of Gwenzaline” M adds “Oh yes, and we also have the second champion of Gwenzaline, Alastros, who joined us today”
Draekos looks like he’s just been punched in the guy and X says, “And I’m the champion of the hottest Tiefling you’ve ever met” Draekos says “That can’t be real” and M says, “I mean, she is pretty hot” (X nat 20 persuasion)
Draekos seems to believe her
Draekos’ face scrunches up, and he says "If you have all this power, what? You're still coming to me? Why? Why involve me in this? Not saying I'm not willing to help...” K says “while we have so many champions with us, our powers are still mostly fledgling.” M adds "It's been but a few days since we came into them.”
Draekos says “I mean, he's but one man, does he have an army?” M says “He is the champion of Skurth” His eye twitches in recognition of the name and says “I haven’t heard anything good about that god” K says “Neither have we” and M nods
Draekos says “Ok, so besides myself, what is your plan going forward with my help?” M says “Well, initially I was going to ask for aid in things like resources and information.” Draekos says “Well, resources. I have information maybe” and M continues, “specifically regarding the husband as he apparently, I have reason to believe he knows where I am and that he is on his way here. And well, you see, when we found Sylvara she was trapped in stone in what we thought was a dream, but must have been somewhere”
S says “It was real, I don’t know how I did it or how you got there, but no, when you were all together helping me, that was real” K says “And we greatly appreciate everything you’ve done for us” S looks a little sheepish and says “Well, I haven’t been able to do much lately” M says “You brought us all together in the first place, don’t discount yourself” K adding that everything has to start somewhere. S pulls her hat down with a smile
Draekos says “I'm going to have to put some things on hold, it seems. You know, if this had happened but a month from now, I may have had many volunteers willing to assist in in a full-on war if need be. But none of my new citizens have arrived who aren't just labourers, decorators, masons, smiths, you know.”
M says “So back to the connection with Blen. Sylvara was able to come to us through our dreams, and in my dream, I was seated in the middle of a ritual circle, one that I had found in one of the off-limits areas of Mildmore Manor and through a bit of research, we have found some information on it.” And she pulls out the page she copied with the circle and masks on it. “Sylvara recognises those masks as being worn by the people who took her. We now know this is a Solvexis Circle that was created by Xiranatos. Also, the wedding ring that I wore for 10 years, upon closer inspection, has a Solvexis circle in it.”
Draekos says “That sounds disturbing” M continues “And I thought I was crazy, but I always felt like something was watching over my shoulder. And the minute I took it off after I got out of there, it felt like a shadow had left. That's the best way I can describe it. Like there had been a shadow looming over me.”
Draekos says “Micarafae, you seem to have bad luck with cursed items. We need to get you some protection” M says “Yeah. You wouldn’t happen to know how to cast dispel magic and being willing to teach it to me, would you? Because that would have come in quite handy these last few days. It’s the only reason we were able to get the brooch, which was actually a beetle off of me, thanks to Some quick thinking from this one” and gestures to K
Draekos says “Unfortunately I can only produce a little bit of water and electricity and wind magic." And extends his hand, forming an orb of water with electricity arching from it in an X shape, wind forming around that and getting faster until he closes his fist and it dissipates
Draekos continues “Currently, this is new to me as well. Honestly, I've had these abilities but only communed with Nozzinth once, had them for months now.” K says they have been made difficult to contact, Draekos says “I mean, I didn't even know I was talking to a a dead god or whatever, because sitting in front of me is a giant otter, not saying anything, its eyes glowing as it controlled the
waves. I didn't know if it was going to bestow me with gifts or kill me.”
M says “Well, lucky for you, you were chosen. Well not necessarily chosen in the active sense, but you are the champion of the head of the pantheon. Which only seems fitting knowing you”
He stares at her in disbelief before letting out a slight cackle, standing up and saying, "Maybe there's a reason I can do this." Snapping his fingers causing a small geyser of water to erupt from the ground, forming into a trident that he reaches out and grabs, it turns into a solid in his hands and crackles with electricity, looks at K and says “You’re not the only one to have a trident”
M calls Ember over and Draekos asks what this is and M says, “Apparently the god of war and fire is rather fond of me, and he created a creature. This is Ember” Draekos says “I mean, I got a shield, a trident, and this amulet. You get a living being”
M pulls out The Ash Song and says “And a rather nice sword” as she causes the flames to flare up along the blade
Draekos says “Well, aren’t we an interesting party” and looks to K “What gifts do you have?” M says, “One you definitely don’t want to see inside” K says, “That I can guarantee”
Derek speaks up and says, “I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a gift, but I’m here” K replies “You’re absolutely a gift dear” (7 persuasion) Derek says "Yeah, well maybe next time when you say it, you can put a little uh sweetness into it." K hangs her head
Draekos does seem interested in the group and their plight, if maybe for the wrong reasons before gathering himself a little and saying, "Now is not enough time to show off fancy toys." Snapping his fingers again, turning the trident back into water that splashes onto the ground
Draekos adds "All right, well, do you want to stay the night? I can put you up. I have some nice already finished houses that have not been moved in." M says that would be nice and he adds that they’re human domiciles if that is ok and the group nod
M says, “I should also mention, well a certain dragonborn paladin took it upon himself to interrogate a certain noble who we know to be involved with this.” Draekos asks if she means Selene Vaeloria or Harren Blackthorn, M says “Harren. And he, took of his head off then kidnapped his son, who I spoke to today. Well spoke to in a sense. I was able to get inside his head... You see, he has been keeping women as pets, let’s say and we have managed to get five of them out from under the Blackthorns, but they are unfortunately, still under contract, and the master contract is still in play, but I know where it is”
Draekos pinches the bridge of his nose and says “This is why I’m starting my own village. This is bullshit, Alright, go on” M says “Well, I may have slit his throat” Draekos asks “What are you people doing over in Ravenswood?”
M takes out her notebook and flips it to the page where she wrote down everything from Shall’s mind and slides it over to him, saying “Maybe you’ll understand”
He puts a hand on it as he summons a guard over, whispering something to them and the guard heads off as he starts reading, eventually commenting “I knew he was a decrepit piece of garbage, but you ended his life?” M says “Him and I do have history, but yes. I wouldn’t say it was the right thing to do, but I wouldn’t say it was the wrong thing to do, because we wouldn’t have been safe”
Draekos says “Promise me you won’t repeat this?” M says “Trust me, I have no intention of taking a life again, ever preferably. Speaking for Bruzrik, I make no guarantees”
Draekos says “You promise me you won’t tell anyone this, but I’m not sad that piece of shit is dead” M says “Very few people are, I would hazard a guess”
The guard he summoned earlier returns with a piece of paper that he slides to the group, they see it’s a personal summons for Lady Elira Blackthorn to meet in the town square at around 10am the next day
M says “That’s handy, I was already planning on being there for something else” Draekos says "I wasn't going to go. I almost used this for kindling, you know, something to get the fire going. But I was advised to keep it, so I did. And well, I'm supposing you didn't get this invitation.”
M says “Well, so far Xeranova is the only person to figure out who I am” X beams as M continues “The others I’ve told, so no one in town is aware of who I am, yet. That’s what I was planning on doing in the town square tomorrow morning”
Draekos says “Well, do you think my invitation was some plot to have me assassinated or was it more for more theatrics kind of like you have planned?” M asks when it was sent and he said it arrived this morning
M says “I don’t know how much Lady Blackthorn knows, I would hazard more than she lets on.” Draekos says, “Maybe it’s for something else. No matter, I will attend” M says “I say we steal the show” Draekos agrees
Draekos says “We can all take one of my fastest carriages tomorrow. I don't have my own crimson wing couriers yet, but I do have some of the finest mounts in all the land.”
M says “Well, there were a couple more things. A lot has happened”

Ravenswood

B suggests they split up to cover more ground, G agrees and she head to The Luminous Tome while B heads to The Enchanted Trinket

The Luminous Tome

G rushes over to the library she sees a couple people giving her strange looks and not a lot of guards around (perception 8)
G feels a bit of insecurity creep in, unsure if the people she sees are just going about their business or if there’s more to it, the thought of Micarafaux nagging in the back of her head (7 insight)
G heads to luminous tome, sees closed sign and the curtains drawn, she tries to peer in through the curtains but sees only darkness inside and decides tries the door, finding it’s unlocked and she carefully heads in
G can’t see anyone inside or any signs of people
Tries the door to the basement, finds it unlocked and heads in seeing lots of magic books as well as erotica
G tries to figure out if his residence is in the library or elsewhere, getting the feeling that he doesn’t live there. not seeing any kinds of person effects (9 investigation)
G decides to leave and go find B to see if they can figure out where he might be

The Enchanted Trinket

B sees there are some shady looking people but sees turquoise bands letting him know it’s Nyx's men who are posted up and keeping an eye on things around town (nat 20 perception)
B sees a closed sign on the door, and when he tries the door, it is locked but he can see a faint light through the curtains
B knocks loudly on the door but no response
B sees a window that is seemingly jammed open and tries to get it open fully (strength 22)
He gets it unstuck and it makes a loud noise, causing Moritha to come running out holding the basilisk dagger and says “Who’s there” Sees it’s B and asks why he made so much noise B says “Your window was broken” She says “Oh, you fixed it” and puts the blade down
B asks if he can come in and she unlocks the door letting him in
B has a look around, seeing if anything of note has changed but doesn’t see anything other than some boxes labelled “Embervale Exchange”
B says “I have been sent here by MIcarafae, I need to collect her ring. There have been some rather unpleasant developments” and proceeds to fill her in on everything.
Moritha says “I’m not fully finished, but...” and gets out the box it’s stored in and tells him it’s in there
B says “She just believes that it would be best for it not to be somewhere where it could possibly be stolen or put you in any danger. We don't know anything about this impostor or what it's willing to do. So, we are trying to be proactive.”
Moritha says “Do you feel I should leave town? Come back in a few days?” B says “No, no, you can stay in town. Just be very cautious." Moritha says “Maybe I stay closed then” B says that sounds like the best idea
Moritha shows him a large beam resting above the door, asking him to get it down for her, he gets it down and she says “I’ll bar the door with this, and you fixed my window so I should be able to get it locked again”
B says “If you do see Micarafae before you interact with her, you need to say there's a past phrase that you need to say. The initial person uses the word petrichor and the responder needs to work in the word lavender."
Moritha looks a little frightened, but she’s taking everything in and gives him the ring
B has another look at the ring making sure nothing has changed (investigation 20) and notes that it is the same ring and hasn’t been switched out or anything of the like and puts it in his pocket
B asks Moritha if she has any way of getting a message to one of the group if something/someone shows up and she needs help, she says that shouldn’t be a problem and B adds that if Micarafaux does how up, not to let her in , try to stall and get in touch with someone who will get there asap
Moritha excuses herself for a moment, leaving the room and coming back a moment later with two Talisman of Dispelling, saying they’re her last two but gives them to B
She also holds out the Basilisk Dagger and says “"This is the only thing I have to defend myself, but if you want it...” B gently pushes it back and tells her to keep that, she looks relieved and thanks him
B tells her to try and keep a low profile until they sort some stuff out, but they will come back to check on her
Moritha says “I'm actually expecting a rare package um some stock. I was hoping to get into rotation, but um if if someone wants to come tomorrow, it should be arriving late afternoon. I've ordered crimson wing haversacks, basically like a bag of holding with some extra bonuses. I'm willing to give you one. I think it would only help with all this, especially with the messaging. I think messages directly appear within the bag.”
B nods and says someone will swing by and adds “one more thing before I go, should anyone come here with green eyes and a gold sliver in one, do not let them in. I don’t care if it’s someone you’ve known your entire life, stay as far away from them as you can”
G walks up as he’s finishing his sentence and Moritha says “I promise” before seeing G and saying hello, before she realises it might not be G and moves her hand towards her dagger
B puts a hand up and says it’s ok, she’s with him, Moritha says “Well, I may as well test this out. Um, I sure do love the smell of Petrichor” G responds “I prefer the smell of lavender myself” Moritha says she feels like she’s in the Thieves' Guild or something before saying they probably have more important things to do and B tells her to stay safe before heading back with G
G tells B that she checked the library but saw no sign of Thalos, but the place was unlocked and empty. B asks if there were any signs of a struggle or anything odd. G says she didn’t find anything and it didn’t look like anything was missing
B says it seems strange that he would just abandon his books like that because from what he heard Thalos loves his books and that seems out of character
B asks G what she thinks they should do, she says she’s stumped but suspects he’s been taken
They decide wandering around the town in the middle of the night trying to look for him seems like a bad idea and head back to Genevieve’s

Genevieve’s Inn

Syyric is sitting at the bar pouring himself a drink and Genevieve is chatting with Jineyih, who both see B and G enter and welcome them back
B says “Well, Gwinri, since I woke you after 15 minutes of sleep, I feel it’s only fair that I take the next watch again” G nods and heads to bed
Genevieve offers a room key to Syyric but he declines it and she heads back to her room

Ravenswood Bluffs

Dawnspire Manor

M says “Nekros has the ability to summon creatures that can pull a physical manifestation of your nightmares out of your head, and while I was dominated, he did that to me” Draekos shivers and says “I’m very sorry to hear that” M continues “I had long suspected it, but apparently I am my own worst nightmare, so there is another version of me currently walking around town"
Draekos groans and says “Oh no” M adds “And she took the item I had been using to keep myself disguised, my fan”
Draekos says “"Oh, I think I remember something. You were one of a few maybe the only one with a fan at the one of the masquerades.” M says it’s had a couple of upgrades since then and Draekos says that they probably need to get it back then
M says “Well, I mean, I plan on revealing all tomorrow anyway, so it's not it's not like it's that important for me to have. What I'm more concerned about is the fact that, I've taken to calling her Micarafaux,” *Draekos laughs a little bit and M continues, “Has the ability to disguise herself. and if my fears and assumptions are correct, she'll have my memories, my abilities, my knowledge.”
Draekos’ laugh fades entirely and he says they’re really going to have to think this through. M says she does have an idea and X perks up, asking what it is
M says “I can't believe I am going to say this, but Nekros is not going to want to let go of her easily and we need to take care of her as quickly as possible. So, my proposal is that tomorrow once I've let everyone know who I am, I issue a challenge. Me and a couple people of my choosing versus Micarafaux that evening in The Iron Pit. If we win, then we've taken out Micarafaux. But he's not going to want to risk that for nothing. So, if he wins, my proposal was going to be that he could take me captive.”
K says she’s not a fan of that idea and X seconds that. S looks at M with concern and says “He’s going to want more than just you, you know that right?” M says “I’m a good start” and S says “You’re going to need to sweeten the pot I think” X stands up and says “No! No...” M says “Desperate times...”
Draekos has his hand on his chin pondering and says “Well, I think it would work honestly. Who do you think you would choose, you know he’s not going to let you fight her alone?” M says “Having a healer would be crucial, so if Kree was willing to join me” K says “Always”
S adds “And Bruzrik and Gwinri” M says, well, that’s everyone...” X says “We don’t have to limit it to four, we have capable friends”
M says “I want him to believe he has a very good chance of coming out of this the winner. If we go in with everyone, he’s not going to think that and he’s not going to take the offer”
X gets quiet and Draekos says “Well, with this gamble, what do you need me to do? Do you know where I could lead the B team, as it were?” M says “We do have some indications of where his bade of operations is”
Draekos says “Tell me your other assets, who are these people? Are the capable fighters?”
M says “I don’t know about Varuug, Alastros is thick as two short planks, but from what I’ve heard he’s a capable fighter. Corvin is definitely good in a fight, we know that because we fought him when he first met him, Jineyih also seems to be able to fight. We also have Lilinara and Jazen...” Draekos says “Sounds like you have enough for a B team” M says “Yes. And Lilinara is the one who has gotten the closet to finding where his base is”
Draekos says “I could lead this team. Alright, if it wasn’t certain before, it is now. Tomorrow, first light, early, dawn, we’ll leave, no breakfast”
Draekos says he’ll have some guards so them to their rooms for the night and that he’s going to try commune with Nozzinth tonight, M gives him a bardic inspiration and thanks him for his help
He says “Well, I haven’t done anything yet, but I’m supposed to be meeting my counterpart in a few weeks, her name is Tahlina” M says her counterpart, Tarruk should also be joining soon
Draekos says once this is all done, he’s going to have a grand opening ceremony with a tournament and a ball, M harkening back to the last time the saw is other she says “You going to have me play this time?” He says “Yes, I’ll have you play. But don’t you want to dance as well?” M says she can do both and Draekos says he’ll just have to hire more than one bard.
M says “Blen is going to be so pissed and I am all about that”

Winding down and sleeping

The group are shown to a home that looks to be able to accommodate a family of 10, with two bedrooms, the master bedroom and another with multiple beds set up in it
Draekos says he will have someone come and collect them in the morning and that he’ll make sure there are extra protections in place for them overnight and bids them goodnight
S half-heartedly kicks M in the shin and says “That is a stupid idea! Stupid, stupid, stupid” M says she knows and S says “No, you don’t know. What if They get you? Then it’s all over” M says, “What if they don’t?”
S starts welling up with tears and says “I can’t lose you! We can’t lose you” And looks to K “We can’t lose Kree, we can’t lose Bruzrik, we can’t lose Gwinri. We can’t lose anyone!”
M says, “Well we better kick ass then” S, through tears says, “But I can’t help!”
M says “You’ve already done a lot, I feel like you deserve a rest” S says “All I do is rest. All I do is have people babysit me. I know that's what they're doing and I appreciate it...” M says “We’ll find a way to get your powers back”
S tries to swipe The Ash Song from M, who catches her and swats her hand away (dex save 19)
S says “I just want to help! Give me a weapon!” K asks if she could handle a scimitar and S says yes, prompting X to say “I don’t... Give the girl a weapon”
K unsheathes a scimitar and hands it to S who takes a few swings with it (20 dex) and actually handles it quite well, M and K tell her that wasn’t bad and S says “So put my beside you then. I want to fight against your doppelganger. I want to be on the A team!” M says she’ll sleep on it
S crawls over one of the empty beds and crawls in, looking sad
M sits down and says “So, I have another crazy idea...” K asks what it is and S turns over in the bed and says “What!?”
M says, “This one carries much less risk” X seems to perk up, walking behind M and twirling her hair with a finger
M says “I need to see Korbus today” X says she can’t help with that and M adds “I remember the first time I met him, he told me if I was trying to see him, getting drunk would help”
S starts laughing and says “No, you’re kidding!” M says, “He is the god of wine” K says “Fuck it, why not. As long as you feel you’ll be in fighting shape”
X looks and K and M with a serious look on her face and says, “Are we doing thing?” M sighs and says, “You may have noticed that I don’t drink...” X gets a devilish grin, and M adds “Having to looks after an alcoholic father since you were 7 is a bit off putting. Among other things...”
X says, “Don’t ruin this for me” and heads out of the house
S says “Oh really, your father? Are you sure you want to go ahead with this?” M says “I don’t fucking know, but I feel like I’m desperate enough to try. As long as someone stays with me” K says they’ll be here and M says “I can’t believe I’m doing this”
X returns with 3 guards all carrying various wines, beers, spirits etc. Saying “I may have requested one of each”
M says “I feel it’s only fitting I go for the wine.
X grabs a bottle, pulls the cork out with her teeth and hands the bottle to M saying “Drink up” before grabbing another bottle, pulling the cork out and handing it to K and grabs a couple more from the guards and tells them to go
X calls S over and hands her a cup of beer saying “This will put you right to bed”
M asks if anyone knows any drinking games and X’s eyes seem to flash, saying of course she does and they start to play some (K 24, S 60, M 65, X 74)
X wins and tells everyone to take their clothes off, S seems unsure and X says “Ok, one article of clothing off, then we should probably go to bed” S takes her hat off, X face palms
K and M both take their corsets off and X is delighted and says “Well, we must continue this another night” before looking at M and saying “"I am sorry you have a history with alcohol, but it can be fun when applied correctly." M seems to be deep in thought and staring at the wall, causing X to wonder if she said something wrong before
X says “Well, I’m claiming the biggest bed” then looks to K and M “Either one of you or both of you are welcome to join me. Sorry, little one." S waves to her without looking and heads to bed
M heads to the master bedroom with X and starts taking her boots off
K is torn between joining them or keeping S company, deciding on the latter, thanks X for the offer but asks for a rain check, X says, "I will hold you to that” K says she looks forward to it and X shuts the door
K makes her way over to S and asks if she has room for one more, S drunkenly hiccups as she scoots over and says "You know, I only drank one drink. I'm such a lightweight." K says “Well, you are the smallest of us” S asks if that’s why X only poured her half a glass, K says it could be and S says “She doesn't seem like she thinks about us, but I think she does.” K says “It could also be because she's had some experience with some fairies in her establishment before, so you never know. But yeah, she does care.”
S wiggles over to be small spoon and K snuggles in, holding her and they both fall asleep

Master Bedroom

M somewhat reluctantly finishes off the bottle of wine as she’s sitting on the bed and patting Ember
X closes the curtains and says that she didn’t bring a change of clothes, sees M finish the bottle and ask if she’s all done
X walks over, placing a hand on M’s forehead and says “Well you seem ok” M is half dissociating, staring at X’s lips for a moment before saying “What colour do you think our lipsticks would make if we mixed them together?”
X grins, taking the bottle from M and putting it down on the side table a little too hard, causing the bottle to break, but she doesn’t seem to care, pushes M down on the bed and starts kissing her
After a while X stops and says “"You have something important to do, don't you?" M says “Yeah” and X pouts, adding “Okay, well, rain check. I get a lot of those lately.”
M thanks X, X nods and starts cleaning up the pile of glass from the table then lays down on the bed beside M and asks what she can do to help. M says “I don't know. I think a lot of it is just luck of the draw."
X wishes M good luck, taking her hands and M cuddles up with Ember and closes her eyes (Charisma 19)

Korbus’ Realm

M wakes up falling from the sky but is quickly caught by something incredibly warm, but not hot enough to burn her
Opening her eyes she’s on the back of Xinnalestra and has an Aerial view of the land, seeing the castle, the burning forest and the lake of fire and also a seeming distortion in the air around a single cloud, seemingly a vortex or wormhole and sees a tiny speck fall from it, directly into the lava
Xinny flies M down to the ground and in front of the castle where she sees Korbus is his larger form, decked out in full armour with his retinue of minotaurs, goat folk, centaurs and others behind him and beside him is Alaric
Alaric looks a little older than when she last saw him and like he’s seen some battles, he’s wearing armour seemingly fashioned from the scales of some beast and is holding also fashioned from the remains of the beast she would assume lives in the lava lake
Xinny lands and Korbus offers M a hand down to the ground then kneels and whispers to her “Hey, very happy you’re here, I just want to let you know we only have 5 minutes. we've been waiting here for about a month. We could see you coming. you were coming in such slow motion that we just didn't know exactly when you were going to pop in. But yeah, say hi to everyone.”
M looks to Alaric and harkening back to when he first saw her real face says, “Hey you” He seems to melt a little and replies “Hey you yourself”
He looks like he’s bulked up a bit and is more toned but not too different from how he looked before but he does have a scar along his jawline as well as what seems to be a couple burns that have been mostly healed with magic
Alaric take a couple steps forward and says, “you know, for the first few months I cooked." M says “I imagine that’s pretty easy in a realm of fire” Alaric continues “Oh, yeah. I mean, whoever was their cook before, terrible. But, um, I needed to carry my weight after that. And um well and uh...”
Korbus nudges him, nearly knocking Alaric over and says, “Go on, tell her” Alaric says “Well, you’re looking at the newest Warden of Korbus” M congratulates him. Alaric spins his sword in his hand and says “You wouldn’t know it if you looked at me before, but I can kick ass now” M says “You’ll have to prove it to me sometime”
One of the Centaur women behind Korbus snorts and Alaric says "Don't mind her. She's the one who trained me, always giving me a hard time”
K says “I guess I don't really have time to tell you about the day I've had. But you said you can read my thoughts...” Korbus gives her a knowing nod
Korbus puts a hand on M’s shoulder and says “There’s only one way to get Al hope and you’re not going to like it” M says “Pray tell” he replies “No time kiddo”
Korbus asks if she wants him to stay or go with her and she says, “Is that even a question?” Korbus smiles and says "Trust me, it's not that big a deal. Don't kick yourself over this”
M looks over to Alaric and says, “I should warn you, I’m in bed with Xeranova” He looks surprised and says “What? Really?” as Xinny wraps her wings around the both of them, pulling them chest to chest
Alaric says “I didn't know this. I swear I didn't know.” M says “I’m not complaining”
Korbus says “It was fun while it lasted Al, until next time Micarafae” and Xinny explodes in a burst of flame

Ravenswood

B is keeping watch, until V comes to take over, sitting next to B and saying “My friend, you don’t look so good” B says “it’s been a long day” and V says “So I hear you need your rest. You can't protect everybody. Not like this.”
B says “Someone needs to keep an eye on things” V replies “Well, for now it is me. Go.”
V looks over at the bar, seeing Syyric passed out on it and says “Who’s that passed out on the bar?” B says “Some guy here for Micarafae” V says “Popular girl” B replies “Oh, ain't that the truth.”
V says “I'm sorry to say I was not able to contact Xiranatos.” B says “That's all right. Hopefully things go smoothly tomorrow.”
V adds “You know, he is the god of dreams and nightmares among other things. I thought he could maybe help. Not that he has been forthcoming so far.” B says “Don't worry, my friend. We'll figure things out.”
V nods and says “Go, please” and B stands, patting him on the shoulder as heads to bed.

Ravenswood Bluffs

M and Alaric appear by the bed in an imploding ball of fire, both sizzling a bit as they stand there and Alaric says “you know there was always a warmth there but after all that time and these powers I have been granted I have cold resistance? Fire still hurts! Weird right?” M nods, saying she’s in the same boat as Alaric tries to pat out a small bit of a fire on his arm
M notices X asleep in the bed, completely nude and partially covered by the blanket. (perception 13)
M Quickly turns around and covers her fully with the blanket, not for her sake but for Alaric’s
Alaric continues trying to pat out the smoke coming from his arm saying “the smoke is not stopping. Is it because it comes from a phoenix?” M says “Maybe it’s because you’re so hot” He laughs loudly before turning around and noticing X and quietly says "Oh, you did say there was someone asleep. Sorry."
M grabs his hand, pulling him through the room and out of the house saying “There’s a spot I found years ago when I was here, great view of the sea” and leads him to it
M gets the sense that he is definitely a fair bit stronger than when she last saw him, feeling that he could easily resist her pulling him along if he wanted to, but he is allowing her to.
They get to the spot and M sees it so be seemingly unchanged but she does notice some structures where the water meets the land and on the beach, appearing to be housing for aquatic and semi-aquatic races
She also sees blue orbs of light deeper down under the water, recognising them as indicative of merfolk communities under the water (21 history)
Alaric closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, M asks him if it’s good to be back, he says “You know, I don't think I've felt cool air for what seems like a year or two. How long was I gone?” M says “Less than 24 hours” he seems to wince at the revelation saying “Really? It was way longer for me” M says “Yeah, that’s going to be weird to wrap our heads around” he nods
Alaric says "All right, well, why don't you fill me in on things? Where are we?" M tells him they’re in Ravenswood Bluffs
M says “Yeah, turns out Draekos is also a champion” Alaric asks of which god and M tells him “Nozzinth, the leader of the pantheon” He says “Ah, so the guy who has everything gets the god who knows everything?” M says “Yeah, it’s a little unfair”
They sit and enjoy the view while M fills him in on everything that happened in the last day until they see the sun start to rise and head back to join the others

On The Road to Ravenswood

Alaric and M rejoin the group as they are being roused by some of Draekos’ guard
K sees Alaric and goes in for a hug as he greets her and he gives her a gentle squeeze as she welcomes him back (strength K 12 A 7)
The can see him holding all his gear in one arm as he currently doesn’t have a backpack for all of it
K says “Looks like you got set up pretty well over there” looking at his gear, he replies “Yeah. Well, we spend a year or so and nothing to do but fight some of the strongest immortal warriors that Korbus has let live. You know, you know, while I was there, one person survived from Kallista's realm on the way down. Yeah, it was interesting. Survived the fall and then Korbus had to make a decision. because those ejected from Kallista's realm aren't well they're not the best of best of people. they are usually sent this way to die. And when a god declares you dead most of the times Korbus lets it happen. But he let this one stay. Thought he could be reformed. Yeah, just wanted to let you know."
K says she appreciates it and A gets close and whispers "You think you could visit Korbus? you have you have wings, right?" K says “Yeah, maybe sometimes, all the realms are intertwined, so makes sense that that would be a possibility.”
A says “I don't think they're all intertwined, but I think at least each one is connected to a different one. in some way is what I was kind of getting. Korbus really didn't say.” M says he’s not much of a talker, A says “My god, he throws crazy parties though.”
K says “You were saying god of wine, right?” M says “Wine and parties” A adds “Yeah, they're insane. They lasted like days.”
X looks a little pouty seeing A at first, wanting the attention to be on her, but greets him and understands that he means something to M so is playing nice but doesn’t really know how to handle the whole situation
M is a bit overwhelmed and note sure how to deal with the situation
The group arrive a large red carriage pulled by 6 red horses and everyone loads in
M sits between A and X, S sits across from A and K sits across from X
The coachman asks Draekos how fat they’re going "For once, and I mean it this time, as fast as you can." The coachman seems ecstatic and Draekos tells everyone there are straps and he recommends they use them and they all strap in
S asks A if he met anyone while he was gone, he laughs and says "No, I mean the women tried. They got really drunk, but I was a good I was I was very good.” and looks at M
M says, “You didn’t even have a little fun?" he looks slightly weary but smiles and says “Not that kind of fun” M says “Damn, I wanted all the juicy details”
A says “Oh, well, I can tell you about all the times that my trainer got drunk at the parties and tried to hit on me.” M says that sounds like fun and he continues “Yeah, especially when she's a feisty centaur.” M says, “I’d pay to see that honestly” A says “Yeah, she was my superior. She trained me in combat. It was very interesting early on. And then I learned to navigate the waters, so to speak.”
K, S and Derek all pop their heads out the window and see Ravenswood approaching and notes that they don’t seem to be slowing down and can also see what looks to be a checkpoint set up on the road leading in guarded by Blackthorn guards (Perception 25)
M is too focused on the fact she’s sitting between two people she has feelings for and doesn’t know how to deal with that (perception 10)
Draekos looks unconcerned and asks how much of a hurry they are in M says, “The sooner the better, frankly” and he replies “Perfect, just what I needed to hear”
Draekos hold his hand out the window of the carriage and summons his trident, waiting until they get closer, pointing it in their direction and causing water to erupt in a small geyser, covering the ground in a 10ft radius in water, then presses the gem on the trident, causing the water to electrify causing the guards to all freak out and scatter
He then clears the water and the carriage speeds though and into the town
Draekos asks the coachman if he knows where to park it, the coachman replies he knows the plan to go around the town a couple of times and then park

Ravenswood

G hears a distant thunderous clacking and wakes up, going to the nearest window to try and see what’s causing it, seeing the carriage barrelling through the streets and decides to head downstairs to get B (perception 16)
B is woken up to G knocking on his door, not having heard the carriage (perception 3)
J and C also hear this (perception 12 & 13) and head out to the front with B and G
Jazen hears it but doesn’t come out to see what’s going on (nat 20)
Syyric remains asleep on the bar
The group watch as this bright red carriage drawn by six black horses speeds towards the inn, B noting that it’s extremely odd but entirely too obvious to be anybody with the intention to do anything bad
The carriage suddenly slides to a halt outside Genevieve’s and M steps out, using message to say to B “You’re not going to like this”
Stepping out behind her is A who has been given a basket to carry his things and behind him is X who bursts out and almost sings “Petrichor” B replies with an unenthusiastic “Lavender” and X says “Good boy”
S flies out, zips around G and lands beside B saying, “So we had a crazy time” B says she’ll have to tell him about it, and she says, “I’m going to be fighting with you guys” and pulls out a scimitar
G says, “When is this happening?” M says “Right, yeah, about that. This evening. I’ll give you the details in a bit”
K then steps out, followed by Draekos, B sees this and turns around to go inside, Draekos laughs and says, “This will be fun” and M says “I did warn him”
M looks to G and says, “Shake his hand” Draekos rolls his eyes and extends his hand, G takes it and feels the buzzing, staring at him wide eyed
Draekos says “Nobleman Draekos Dawnspire at your service my lady. I see having me here just adds another champion to your retinue”
M says “if we can get Skylla back, we’ll almost have the full pantheon minus Skurth”
X walks past, following B with a pout and says “I wanna be a champion too” S follows and says “I heard that”

Inside Genevieve’s

Everyone heads inside
M walks up to B and asks if he has the ring, he pats his pocket, M says “Could you do me a favour and have George look at it?”
B calls George over and holds out the ring to him saying “George, I need you to scan this ring for me”
George scans over it and seems to be getting some kind of interference (Intelligence 19)
George says "Sir, there is a activation trigger on this dark gem. there seems to be a -static- inside. When in effect the wearer will be restrained. Unable to teleport, unable to cast spells. no verbal or somatic components can be used. When in effect, the ring cannot be removed from the wearer. The wearer will lose energy until they have no energy remaining. Energy transfer to -static- “He moves to scan the amethyst gem “When worn ring will transmit where's location to -static- bypassing divination wards and/or scrying protections. -static- If activated while asleep, the wearer will fall into a dream state under -static- influence. While worn, the wearer is undetectable by other magical tracking, scrying, locating creature, divination, and some divine senses.”
George starts to emit a feedback sound and starts to look depleted of energy, dropping a little from where he was hovering and swaying slightly
B thanks George and M says “One moment” Walks out the front door and throws up
X and A both go to walk out the door to comfort M but bump into each other, both having this slightly awkward moment of not knowing what to do, but recognising the other cares a lot about M
B says “I could just break it” M says “No, there's protection on it for that. I have a plan for it anyway. Actually, it's a plan that you're kind of involved in”
George pipes up again saying “sir. The dark gem represents control, confinement, the devouring force of –static- gravity, inescapable. The light gem symbolizes domination, surveillance, -static- false security, revealing -static- desires.”
B says, “I think I’m going to beat your ex-husband to death with a shovel” M says, “Oh please, let me” B replies “As long as a shovel’s involved, I don’t care”
B, K and M are able to put together that whatever magic the solvexis circle holds is what is causing the interference with George, like it’s preventing him from saying certain things (Insight B nat 20, M 21, G 10, K 6 & History K 17, M 11, G 9, B 5)
M says “Moritha did say something about the Solvexis Circle being used to bind people and as a power source, so that’s not surprising”
B also gets a little insight from Zaolu as he identifies the ring as not being something god made, just pure evil intentions on the part of mortals
M pulls out her notebook and shows the sketch of the Phoenix pendant to B, asking if he thinks that’s something he could work on with Zaolu, he says that seems doable
