General Summary
Saturday 19/05/2345
Waking up
- Fairy from the dream sitting in the dining area “Finally, you’re here”
- G says “weren’t you in my dreams”
- Introduces herself as Sylvara
- She reached out to more than the 4 of us
- Had been trapped in the stone for “a few years”
- Last she remembered was doing clerical work, doing research, gathering rare and unique tomes and discovered an ancient pantheon of forgotten gods
- Went so sleep, saw a masked man who drained her of her power, was floating and saw motes of light, was able to travel to our dreams through them
- M asks if the statues from the dreams were related to the pantheon, she says it was but can’t say much more without her books
- K comments on the giant otter, S says the otter was the leader of the pantheon, says the name of the pantheon was “B'shay”
- Tries to remember where she left her notes *5 years is a long time”
- Says her notes are in the fae wilds
- S asks M is she remembers the circle from the dream
- M recalls seeing the circle in the past behind closed doors that she wasn’t supposed to be in, wonders if the masked man and the man in M dreams could be the same or related
- S wonders if she could find info in a library locally, M asks the Half Elf where they could find something like that
- “What’s a girl like you need from a book” M winks and says “you can learn a lot of things from books”
- Says there’s a library around the corner”
- M gives B a look and says “I was flirting there” He says he was too
- S asks M if it’s something she’d actually be interested in and she says yes
- S comments that you don’t often see pantheons of multiple races
- M gets a tea, K also gets tea and B and K get a pint
- M asks if the party have met drow, G says “I’ve always been a Dwarf”
- Half Elf man says there’s a drow in town, works for Lady Selene says she’s not someone to mess with
- S says there was a drow on her team
- B says he’s never met any but he’s heard rumours of sacrifice and enslavement
- M asks everyone to join her in her room
- The doorman runs through the group holding a stack of newspapers B and M notice an article about a nobleman with the headline “Missing in action or dead”
- B asks for one, M tells him not to worry about it
- B gets a newspaper and reads it as he walks
- Article is about a lord who recently married finds out this was not his first marriage, in fact it’s his 4th or 5th, previous wife is missing, maybe escaped written by someone named Sparky Penwhistle
- M reveals her drow side, everyone is cool with it
- B places a hand on Ms shoulders and feels a zap
- M says “you all hear the buzzing too right” they all say yes
- S says she heard it all the time when she was trapped, it got quieter after she found our dreams, we note it is louder with the 5 of us together
- M places a hand on her shoulder and her eyes glow green, she sees a vision of a Minotaur that bellows at her
- M says what she saw S says that sounds like Korbus
- G touches her and sees a large Orc howling at the moon
- B touches her, sees large humanoid Ratfolk with glowing yellow eyes with bionic arm, feels a calming presence and can almost smell the forge
- K touches her and sees Tiefling woman with red glowing eyes, menacing vibe with large smoking trident, sees her skin falling apart, like she’s undead
- S says that is Kallista
- S pokes M to see if she gets anything, M does not see anything
- S asks G if she needs to tend to her business
- B and G go to deliver the package, M, K and S got to the library
- Traders guild Embervale Exchange
- Two religious sites, one bigger than the other and dominated by humans
- M notices a square in the middle for performers, blankets and tables left over
- Fortune tellers tent, Bakery and small Magic Shop
- Library called Luminous Tome
Library Group
- Stairs going up and down, upstairs more books, down is stone and dimly lit
- M uses prestidigitation to clean the librarians hand as she asks where to find books
- S says we’re looking for the B'shay Pantheon, he doesn’t know of it, S says her books were from the fae wilds he says they do have fae books downstairs and leads them down
- M starts to translate a book in sylvan
- K tries to read a book in giant, recognises it as a spellbook
- S stops on a symbol of a crescent moon, thinks it may be the mask the man was wearing
- M looks at it, sees an illuminated page, doesn’t recognise mask but does recognise the symbols around as those that were in the circle
- M’s book is an elven spellbook and copies down a spell she thinks she can learn
- K trips over a book and M picks it up, it’s a book on rare and unique species in Ravenswood
- The cover features a rare creature with unique healing ability
- Book is written in common
- Crudely drawn image of each animal drawn by archivist
- Dire cardinal?
- Towards the end, looks slightly different, like it was copied, Heartspike jack rabbit, magical hybrid of a stag and a rabbit
- “Spotted outside Ravenswood healing other creatures”
- M copies down the page and hands it to K
- Offers to help K get more info from the archivist
- 3 spells - Unluck on that
Auspicious warning 50% - divination spell, reaction call out a warning adds d4 to saving throw
Ill fated word - M asks S if she remembers the mask man, says with hindsight she feels like she was ensorcelled, she was led into a room and told to sit in a circle
- S notices M shaking
- M says “I didn’t think I’d be revealing all my secrets today, but it seems I must”
- M and K ask about the Heartspike Jack Rabbit as they leave
- Archivist says he swears he’s seen it on the east side of Ravenswood, by the stream, emanate a light healing a wounded elk
- Invite him out to try find it one day
- Asks about the mask, he says he may have seen it on some young lad in town, asks him to come find her if he has any other info
- Introduces himself as Thalos
- Tells Kree about the lunar poppy, and hands her a pamphlet on it
- Asks if she knows an Aakokra named Hugo Weavesting, doesn’t ring a bell
- M picks up a newspaper on the way back
Delivery group
- A lot of empty land, completely fenced in
- A lot of construction, all new buildings
- Lots of workers
- B picks that it Seems like a carnival or fairgrounds
- G picks up different architectural styles
- Work is being done on the castle
- B notices draconic pieces being added
- P and T seems a little nervous
- Large knockers
- G tries to open the door and succeeds
- Bump into a foreman holding scrolls and blueprints
- Older matronly Dragonborn woman who says “you must be jimmy” to B
- G introduces herself as Tarvac’s niece
- Leads them through the castle and says they have big plans in the works
- Replacing plain stone with obsidian looking rock
- Huge work being done, lots of wealth
- Large table with a man speaking to a Goliath holding a big piece of stone
- G doesn’t understand subtly
- Draekos Dawnspire waves off the Goliath and walks over, seems very chill
- Welcomes them and offers food T elbows B and says “You think we could get some mutton out of this?” B says the boys are hungry, Draekos sends servants to fetch enough food “to feed 4 goliaths”
- P and T place down the box and motion for G to open it, she doesn’t see a lock but knows her uncle is a funny guy, tugs on the lock and it disapparates
- Box contains enchanted sword
- Lord says “Are you joking? This isn’t what I ordered, he was supposed to give me a pickaxe”
- Lord asks to deliver a message to Tarvac “I just want a ceremonial pickaxe, it is a gift for our head builder for when he completes the projects we’re working on” Picks up the sword and hands it to G
- Says they are welcome to stay, that the food is on the way
- Tries to make eye contact with B, B intentionally avoids it
- Asks B if they have met before, B says they’ve not met
- Says he tries to help out fellow Dragonborn when he can
- Says there’s a small paladin sanctuary not too far from town, called The Radiant Hall
- After eating they will head out with boxes of food
- Old lady tries to grasp B’s hand and says “you are the cutest Human I have ever seen”
- P and T taken them back to town
- G decides to hang around rather than going home with P and T
- G takes a nap in the carriage feels speedy and lighter
- They head back to the inn
- Notice the other fancy inn The Stock Pot Inn, small but lavish, picture outside of a comically drawn woman with blue hair
Meeting back up
- M is singing and playing her lyre and K is reading about the flower while they wait
- M has caught the eye of a Goliath, tosses her a couple silver and compliments her
- Some people at the inn but not super busy
- M tells everyone that they need to talk, asks Genevieve if there is a private room they can use
- Alaric DuVain takes them to a private dining room
- M sits at the head of the table and puts the newspaper down saying “I worry we may be in some danger”
- B sits down opposite her and asks “what sort of danger?”
- M says she’s not sure and admits she has not been fully honest with the party
- She points to the article and says “I believe this article is about my ex husband, and I am the one who escaped, and we have reason to believe that the man who trapped Sylvara is the same man I spent 10 years married to and when we were in the dream, it was his voice we heard saying he was coming to Ravenswood”
- Says she has long suspected something was up and was part of why she left
- B asks what kind of power he has, M says she’s not entirely sure, but he had great political influence, knows he was “dabbling” and pulls out her notebooks with the info she did manage to gather
- M mentioned the book they found at the library and shows the drawings she copied of the mask and symbols
- S looks puzzled, confused and angry, trying to put things together, asks how long they had been together, realises that she was with him when S was taken, they both get quiet
- B uses divine sense on the drawing of the runes, gets evil vibes
- M sees him doing that and pulls a chain with a ring out from under her shirt and hands it to him, saying that it is her wedding ring and she’s been suspecting for awhile that her husband had been tracking her or something with it and she doesn’t know how else he would know where she was
- Gets the sense that something related to the ring is nearby in town, still getting evil vibes from circle, but definitely not getting good vibes
- Asks if he can hold onto it for the time being
- S wishes she had access to her magic and tries to cast something
- M remembers the Magic Shop and Fortune Teller in town and wonders if they may be able to help and plans to go snooping for info amongst the town folk
- B tells them about the paladins and says he plans to visit them
- B goes to drink, M puts on a brave face and gets on stage with some encouragement from K and plays some more moody melancholic shit
- Alaric is watching and seems taken by M’s voice
- B and M spot an untrustworthy looking humanoid and keep eyes on him, keeps shifting seats and looking at the door
- Older looking man wearing leather apron in crown as well as a buff Dwarf woman
- B casts sleep on the shifty looking guy while M plays a lullaby, B drags him behind the bar, doesn’t have anything in his pockets and then having a closer look at the ring, noticing similar symbols underneath one of the stones, suspecting there might be one under the onyx too (he does not share this info), before going to bed for the night
- M spends 4 hours researching Auspicious warning, getting about half way through learning it before turning in for the night
- B gets crafty in his sleep
- K learns to look at money
- G gets zippy
- Don’t fall into a shared dream
- Get woken up by a loud something like a clock tower chiming, this being the first time the party had heard it
