Round 9
- K moves towards shab 4 and smacks it with flame blade, hitting with 19 and dealing 8 fire damage
- M moves towards G and holds her action
- Alya Dashes to join M, G and J underground
- J runs up to give G the help action
- Shab 5 takes 4 fire damage and moves to hit K, she uses halo of spores, it saves, shab 5 hits K with 15 and deals 15 damage and grappling her, then biting her, hitting for 22 and dealing 25 damage and loses concentration on flame blade (9 con save)
- M uses gust to create an air umbrella again over G
- G keeps her footing (18 con save) and hits another stone with 13, smashing it, the portal goes deep red, she swings at the next, hitting with 11 and destroying another stone, the portal is beginning to warp and wobble, allowing water more water to flood underground and washes J away (6 strength save) G uses action surge and misses with 10, taking another swing and hitting with 14, destroying the last stone and the portal implodes in on itself, unleashing a torrent of water onto G but doesn’t push her away (16 strength save)
- A torrent of water floods towards M who jumps up, planting her feet on either side of the tunnel and holding herself above the water (nat 20 strength save)
- G tries to jump up out of the well (18 athletics) but can’t quite get out
- Shab 4 takes 2 fire damage and hits Althea with 25 dealing 17 damage and grappling her then goes to bite but misses with 8
- B attacks shab 4 hitting 17 and dealing 8 slashing damage, he swings again missing with 13 and grants K advantage with the crucible
Round 10
- K tries to get out of the grapple and manages to get out (14 athletics vs 9 athletics) K casts Aura of Vitality and heals herself for 6 and moves awake, shab 4 takes a swing, hitting with 18 and dealing 9 damage
- M moves into the space under the well with J and G and asks how they are doing, reaches out a hand to G and says let's get out of here and gives her the help action, delaying her movement to move with G
- Alya dashes, making it to the others and asks if anyone needs healing M says they are ok physically
- J uses twilight step to teleport up through the well and swings at shab 5, missing with 11
- Shab 4 takes 6 fire damage and fails con save taking 2 necrotic then swings at B missing with 15, swinging again and hitting with 21 and dealing 6 damage
- G zooms out of the tunnel, up the ladder and throws a handaxe at shab 4, hitting with 20 and dealing 6 slashing damage then throws a second handaxe hitting with a nat 20 and deals 24 and killing it, G gets the feeling someone is proud of her
- M moves back through the tunnel towards the ladder
- B swings at shab 5 hitting with 25 and dealing 7 slashing, swinging again and hitting with 26 and dealing 5 slashing and uses shield bash (nat 20 vs 9) deals 6 damage and shoves it to the left
Round 11
- K uses chill touch hitting with 22 and dealing 8 necrotic to shab 5 then uses aura of vitality to heal herself for 5
- M dashes and climbs the ladder out
- Alya dashes and moves towards the ladder
- J attacks shab 5 missing with 16 then moves away and shab 5 missing its opportunity attack with 12
- Althea swings and shab 5 hitting 24 and dealing 9 damage, hitting again with nat 20 and dealing 6 damage
- Shab 5 swings Althea and misses with 4 and nat 1
- G swings with her pick hitting with 22 and dealing 14 piercing and killing shab 5
Post combat
- M leaves 3 gold pieces on a counter for the pantry she set on fire and heads out to join the others
- G collects her hand axes B picks up Zaolu’s Crucible and M picks up her dagger
- M walks to the group and says, “I hope you like seafood” B shakes his head
- K lies on the ground
- Althea is hanging off of Alya and Alya says she’s going to get her back to The Radiant Hall
- K uses aura of vitality to heal herself for 33 and B 16
- M walks up to K and asks if she wants to head to the library as she’s collecting shab teeth and she says she does
- B and G start collecting shab meat and trophies
- M helps K clean the blood from her feathers as they walk, a mother covers her child's eyes
The Luminous Tome
- M and K walk into The Luminous Tome and see Thalos with a furrowed brow as he’s copying an old scroll into a newer book and looks up to see them asking “Back so soon?”
- M asks if he heard the explosion, he says he was too busy, then apparently realising what she said seems shocked and exclaims “Explosion?!”
- M says “Yeah, portal under well to another plane, shark-crab creatures, lots of blood, lots of shark-crab creature meat...” Thalos drops his quill, slams his book shut and announces he has to go record this
- M stops him and says, “Before you do, I was hoping to find some tomes” He says he can tell her where they are and ask what she’s looking for, she says “Bridge of vines, lucky slip and thundersnap”
- He tells her exactly where to find them and she adds “I was told you may have some kind of information about Solvexis Circles” He says “I haven’t heard that in a while, give me one moment” and runs downstairs, knocks over some books in a rush, some titles catch M’s eye, he grabs a bunch of books, pulls them off the shelf and stacks them beside him and opens a little hatch in the wall, grabs one of the 3 books inside and locks it back up again
- Thalos throws the book to M and says she doesn’t get to keep that one, and he would like it back within a week
- M says there was one last thing and leans in whispers, asking for something, he acknowledges and bends down to the bottom shelf looking for it but can’t seem to find it. M notices that it was in the pile he knocked over and uses message to point it out to him
- He turns around and exclaims that it is indeed that one before lowering his voice and apologising, handing it to her with a wink and saying it’s on the house. M immediately slides it into her bag
- Thalos says he’s going to flip the sign to closed but they are welcome to stay so long as they don’t let anyone else in than says “What kind of creatures were they again?” M says “They were crab bodies, but from the top of the crab was a shark” He asks if they had shark fins and M says they did and crab claws and he seems in awe, asking if she said they were from another plane of existence to which M says from what she could tell
- Thalos says “This is amazing, nothing ever happens in Ravenswood! Aside from the illegal stuff...” M says it seems like there could be an eventful week coming up, he asks what she means, and she says “It’s a whole thing... If you wished to get drawings of them, you might want to hurry, I believe the rest of my companions were in the process of dissecting them”
- K is just watching the chaos unfold and doesn’t want to interrupt to ask about the Heartspike Jackrabbit
- Thalos is making sure he’s got everything and M remembers they wanted to ask about the Heartspike and says there was one more thing they wished to mention saying that they still plan to help him track it down and were thinking about heading to the hunting lodge to see if they could help them track it down at all, he says that sounds like a good idea and that he heard that the best time to look for it is in the evening or night time
- Thalos tells them not to break anything or burn anything down, M stammers remembering how she not long ago burned a pantry down and asks if that’s retroactive, Thalos says probably and M says that she said she did both those things today
- M says “Not with any of the information you have given me was any damage done; you are not liable”
- Thalos bids them farewell and heads out, M takes a moment to copy down the spells before heading to The Enchanted Trinket to collect Sylvara and deliver the books to Moritha
Ravenswood Market
- B is piling Shab parts into an empty cart as they see Thalos stumbling over his robes trying to get to them quickly
- Thalos greets them and asks if they have any insight on the creatures, B glances at G and says “They hit really hard”
- G has her hands in two large claws, clacking them together

The Enchanted Trinket
- Moritha tell them to come in and says she has had middling success
- K and M walk up to the door, seeing the closed sign still up but the door unlocked, M knocks, opening the door and announcing it’s her
- She continues “Right, I have two threads to go off of” and pulls out two crystal pendulums, one blue and one pink then says “The success if that I got the tracking to work. The problem is, one is tied to Sylvara here, and the other is tied to that original shard. You’d think I would know which one is which, but they’re both surprisingly point to Ravenswood, which is strange, I feel” M asks what the chances of that are
- M takes one of the crystals and tries to see if the energy feels at all familiar to the memory she experienced earlier (insight 19) and is able to identify the pink one as being the one connected to the memory shard Moritha got from The Embervale Exchange
- Moritha takes them to a rough, possibly outdated map of Ravenswood and shows them that the pink crystal is pointing to somewhere in the lumber district. M gets suspicious when she says where it is.
- The blue points to somewhere near the edge of the map, off towards where C had tracked Lunae to have been around the farm
- Moritha asks if M would like for her to teach her the incantation so she can do it herself and M says yes, and hands M the crystals to take with her
- M places the spellbooks down on the table for Moritha who sees them and says “Oh, excellent, I really wanted to get the bridge of vines, I think he’s really going to enjoy it. It’s really neat, have you seen it?” M says she has not
- Moritha explains The Bridge of Vines spell and K seems very interested, M asks if she would like a copy and she says yes
- M also takes out the book on Solvexis circles and places it on the table, Moritha asks how long she has to read through it, M tells her Thalos said he wants it back within a week and she says she’s going to devote all her time to diving into this research
- M takes a moment to look at the Teleportation Circle spell they got from Zalthea to see what she can find out about it and if it bears any resemblance to Solvexis circles (nat 20 intelligence)
- M and Moritha are able to work out that for the circles to connect they need the exact same symbols. When Moritha touches the paper, the magical residue on her hands reveals hidden drawings on the back of the paper of the circle that needs to be drawn to link to the one that presumably already exists somewhere but has no resemblance to Solvexis circles
- S is hanging around and asks why K and M smells weird, M says “it’s been a day. Do you like seafood?” S says she loves seafood and M replies “Well, there’s some interesting “seafood” on its way back to Genevieve's” S is vibrating with excitement, and M adds “Can’t guarantee it’s good, never seen the creature before. They were part shab...” She corrects herself “Part shark and part crab” S asks who named it a Shab because it’s an amazing name, M says she just stumbled over her words when she said it
- The three of them say goodbye to Moritha and start walking back to the inn
- S looks at M with big eyes and asks, “Is there anyone special you’re performing for tonight?” M says “I’m just curious as to why you would think to ask that”
- S says “Oh, I don’t know, I mean, if I could perform like you, I would invite Joey. Speaking of, are we going to the Jackalope later?” M says that is the plan and S gets excited saying “Joey said he’d be there” M says “If he stands you up, I’ll beat him up”
- S says, “No one stands up me!” Then pauses, looking and K and M and asks if it’s safe for her to look like her normal Fairy self out in the open, M says it’s up to her and she says “Well, I like being this way, it wasn’t fun when I was disguised. I mean, I was a very cute man, but...” M commiserates
