The Enchanted Trinket

S and M head to The Enchanted Trinket
M says, “You seemed to be having fun last night” She blushes and says “I think I really like him” M asks if she wants to go back tonight and she says she does, M says she wants to harass Todd again so if nothing else come up they can head there.
They get to the magic shop, the sign says closed but S raps on the door and see Moritha peak through the curtain and quickly opens the door and hurriedly ushering them in
Moritha shuts the door behind them and makes sure the curtains are completely closed
They see a completely dark room with a table with a smattering of books and pages, about sorcery, wizardry and magic, some open on specific pages, some dog eared or bookmarked and a small turquoise gem and many melted candles with wax having piled into mounds from repeated candles being placed atop the remains of the last
Says she didn’t have a lot of time but says the loss of powers might be related to loss of memory and that any magic she had left was residual
She summons them over the table and shows them a gem, saying went to the Embervale Exchange and asked if they had any black-market items, specifically physical memory and he put her in touch with a guy that she met up with and got one from and hands it to M
M has a look at it (arcana 17) and sees a memory of someone else, seeing arms flailing as if running feels something caked onto her skin then it goes black and she’s back in the shop, now sitting in a chair and S and Moritha ask if she’s alright
M says, “Well that was something” and they ask her what she did, she explains that she was just having a look at it and suddenly she was in the memory. Moritha says “I didn’t see you cast any spells, you just kind of, looked at it after touching it?” M says she just focused on it to see if she could feel anything
Moritha hold out her hand, M goes to hand it back to Moritha (9 dex save) and S snatches it out of her hand, saying she wants to see, goes rigid for a second and then drops it, saying “That was weird”
Moritha picks it up from the ground and tells S “Girl, you don’t have any magical energies, you wouldn’t see anything anyway”
S looks like she kind of felt something and is looking at her body, unsure of where the feeling came from
Moritha says to S “I have a few rituals we could try” Then looks to M, “They may or may not require higher levels of magical energy. But if we don’t want to waste your time, we can try the non-ritual ones first or we can all work together and you might need to use some of your stronger magic to help us”
M says, “Before we get into anything” She sighs and looks at the ground “You’re doing us a huge favour, both of us, I feel like you deserve to know...” Moritha interrupts saying, “It’s ok dear, it’s fine. You know, this is more of a research project for me, and I don’t get new things come through all the time and I’m willing to help out good people” M says “This could be putting you in danger”
M gets the feeling that Moritha is listening to her but doesn’t believe that she could be in danger (insight 14)
M says she’s not very good at trusting people or opening up about things but that it seems like the person who gave her the ring could be the same person or at least involved with the people who took S’s memories and trapped her in stone and if she is right he could also be involved in a plot to destroy the town
Moritha asks who would want to destroy Ravenswood and then says “I feel like, just knowing what I know already, wouldn’t I already be in danger. If someone came sniffing around, I wouldn’t give her away, but people have their ways, you know” M nods
M feeling genuine good intentions from Moritha, reaches into her bag and pulls out the copy of the page with the ritual circle and mask and the drawings of the symbols on the music boxes and puts them on the table and says that these also seem to be related and explains the situation
Moritha recognises the ritual circle as a Solvexis circle and asks how M has a perfect rending of one because they are extremely rare. M explains about seeing it in the home of her ex-husband, the same person who gave her the ring and then finding it in a book at The Luminous Tome while trying to figure out what was going on with S
Moritha says “Well that complicate things a little. I’m assuming he wants this ring ack” M says she couldn’t say for sure, but he probably wants her back more
Moritha says that Thalos has a scroll that has more info about the circle
She says it uses the power of light to torment or bind, that it was forged by a forgotten pantheon to balance power amongst the gods but it was lost on the mortal plane and that’s why you don’t see them more, that you could capture and do almost anything you want to whoever is held in it
M has her head in her hands and simply says “Oh fuck”
Moritha says “If one were to enact the ritual of a Solvexis Circle, the things I’ve heard from others in the same trade as myself, you know, dabbling in magical items or hoping to get a magical artifact or something owned by a long-forgotten god and such things, that the ritual containing this, you would be able to cast devastating spells. And some would say that they are fuelled by the essence of trapped souls, that it could imprison any creature from the tiniest hellion to the most gargantuan beast. There are stories of it draining dragons of their magic essence, killing phoenixes, negating their ability to reform and be reborn again, it’s some pretty dangerous stuff”
M asks if it could have anything to do with S’s capture and loss of her memories and power
Moritha says “I mean, this is all theoretical, but I’m feeling this circle could be tweaked to easily, probably, withdrawal physical memory from a person”
M remembers seeing something under one of the stones on her ring that looked very similar to the Solvexis Circle, if not a perfect copy (22 history)
M asks Moritha to give her the ring and something to magnify and Moritha brings her both and looking closer at it sees that there is in fact a tiny version of a solvexis circle engraved into the metal
M puts the ring down and removes the magnifying glasses. Moritha says “I think I’ve asked you this before, but you said you wore this?” M confirms saying she wore it for 10 years, Moritha ponders if that’s why she’s so powerful. M is flabbergasted at people called powerful
Moritha look at her ponderously, as if wondering if it could have been doing things to her
Moritha says “Not everyone who just picks up a physical fragment of memory, would be able to trigger it. I haven’t been able to fully tap into it yet, but I’m merely one who studies and not one who is able to really partake. Magic doesn’t come to me easily, but maybe that’s why I fell in love with magical items”
M tells Moritha to have another look at the ring, she says “it’s clearly not active... Or is it? I’m not sure, I know you said you were going to leave this with me for further study, but now that I know that this is here, I am so tempted to put it on. I promise that I won’t”
M says, “If I remember correctly, you said the ring had some kind of tracking thing on it?” Moritha points to the amethyst in the ring and says that is the one that some kind of tracking tied to it, but both have some kind of protection on them, but she won’t know what type until she can have a closer look at it
Moritha asks what they would like to do in terms of S, offering some non-magical options if M doesn’t want to participate, or the big magical one that she would need a spell caster to help out with and that there is also more information on the ring at The Luminous Tome
M asks which has the highest chance of having the biggest impact and Moritha says the big one should give them the most information M says they should do that then
Moritha leads them down a ladder under a hatch into the basement where she has already begun to set up for the ritual
Moritha sits S down on a cushion in the center of the circle on the floor and tells M that she needs to reach and touch the circle and lend her magic
M places her other hand on The Ash Song and attempts to reach out to Korbus (nat 20 charisma) and she hears the piercing screech of a phoenix followed by excited chirps as it tries to talk to her
She then hears Korbus’ voice saying, “Took you long enough to call, what’s it been, like a couple weeks?” M tells him it’s been less than a day. He continues “Y’know, I was gonna ask where my boy was but forget it. Well, your gift is ready, whenever I can get you back here. What are you up to sport?” M explains the ritual to him
He tells her to touch the tip of the sword to the circle which she does and Moritha gives her a quizzical look
I light blue flame travels from the pommel down the sword and to the circle which starts glowing blue and Korbus tells her that should be enough juice for the ritual
M offers Moritha a smile and she sees that she’s clearly got the power she needs and runs over to her book and starts flipping through the pages saying “Oh, I thought this would take some time, but you know what...” and starts reciting an incantation
S visibly perks up and says, “That’s tingly” and Moritha tells M to walk over to her and very gently place her hand on S’s chest
M crouches down in front of S and gives her a nod as if asking for permission to touch her, S offers a shrug to say it’s ok
M places her hand on S’s chest and hears Korbus tell her to move her hand to the left, which she does, and she feels as if there’s not a physical barrier there, like she could just reach into her chest and asks Moritha if that’s something it’s ok to do
Moritha says “What you're searching for is, picture a crystalline heart. When you put your hand in, you should be able to feel something, if I’ve done this right”
Korbus tells her not to worry about it and to proceed and M cautiously pushes her hand into S’s chest
M feels something about the size of a fist in her hand and is able to feel that the back is fine and as it should be, but she can put her thumb in the middle and feel something is missing. Moritha asks he what she feels, and she explains
Moritha tells her to take her hand out, which she does and then asks S how she feels, she replies “This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever felt”
The magic fades and Moritha says “Well that confirms it, she’s definitely had something taken. I almost don’t want to ask, but do you know who did this? For sure? I feel like if we’re going to fix what’s missing, we’re definitely going to have to get back what was taken”
M says, “I can’t say for certain, but Sylvara mentioned remembering that before she was trapped in the stone someone wearing a mask that was on the same page of the book, we found the Solvexis Circle in that I found in my home” Moritha says “Well isn’t this a pickle. Well, I don’t know where to start, I could do some more research on the ring and learn more, factually about this circle know that we’re literally holding one. Or I could look into some sort of way to maybe track the memory shard. What I’m thinking is, this worked, we could somehow work around a way to magically track down what’s missing, because it would have a similar signature, I assume. This really is beyond my measure, but it’s also so exciting. I’m sorry.” S and M tell her it’s fine, that they get excited doing research too
Moritha says “I’m going to have to leave this decision up to you, my dear. Where would you like me to put my effort?”
M quickly asks Korbus about the Solvexis circle, saying that it was created by a lost pantheon and does that have anything to do with his pantheon, he says that sounds more like something Xiranatos would know about, and M says “Guess I need to find one of his champions now”
M looks to S and says, “I don’t mind waiting” S get emotional, tears forming in her eyes and asking “Really? You’d do that for me?” M replies, “I think you having your memory back should take priority, yeah” S bounds up and hugs M who returns the embrace
Moritha asks if S is willing to stay a few hours longer and that M isn’t required to stay if she doesn’t want to
M mentions that she was planning on taking a trip to the library and asks if there is anything Moritha would like for her to pick up while she’s there
Moritha says she’s been trying to copy a bunch of spells to bind into a book for Thalos as a birthday present and that there are a few she wants to get but hasn’t had a believable reason to borrow them without him getting suspicious, but M could without him suspecting anything
M says she can absolutely do that and Moritha tells her the spells she was after were:

M says she will also have a look at the scroll about the Solvexis Circle and Moritha says if she just mentions it, Thalos will be excited to have someone else to talk to about it and that there aren’t many people who know about it
M heads back to Genevieve’s by herself
3 for Breezy Mirage

The Silver Hourglass Bathhouse & Spa

The group decide to investigate Zalthea’s body and room
G is distracted by Garrin (2 investigation)
B is admiring his work (5 investigation)
C and J look in the wrong rooms (9+1 & 10 investigation)
K is drawn to the body, (16 investigation) and notices, a small spell book in her robes containing two spells, one called Teleportation Circle, surmising she was going to set it up at some point, she also has a cloak, bracers and a coin purse with about 100 gold which she takes
She has a look them (19 investigation) the cloak seems to have some kind of resistance, the bracers are able to channel electricity
Garrin says a really cheesy pick-up line to G (16 charisma save) she lets him feel like he’s had a little win
B goes into the room that Zalthea was staying in, there’s scorch marks everywhere, blood on the bed and obscenities written in blood on the walls
He finds a draw full of hands and some odds and ends that he guesses are trophies from kills

Genevieve’s Inn

Kael and Alya are elsewhere but Althea is there
B had his mage hand carry the head to his room
While walking back M is talking to Korbus and asks him if there’s any of the other gods he would like her to try get him in touch with via Detect thoughts, he says being able to talk to Nozzinth “The head honcho” would be great but M tells him they’ve not met any of his champions yet As the connection starts to fade he tells M to try and reach out to him tonight so he can get her gift to her
Before the connection is gone Korbus quickly asks “Have I told you the name of my big Phoenix yet?” M says he has not, and he continues “Well I can’t wait to formally introduce you to Xinny, she’s been all riled up waiting to give you your gift. She’s literally been working on it for an entire month”
M walks in to join the others as the pommel on The Ash Song fades from a glowing blue back to its regular state
M sits down and fills everyone in, saying that S is still with Moritha as there were a couple more things that were going to take the afternoon to complete
J asks what Moritha is accomplishing by keeping S there, M explains “So we figured out that yes, someone has taken her memory. We did this ritual where I reached into her chest and felt her heart, but there was a bit of it missing. It was quite strange” C looks moderately disturbed.
M continues “But it wasn’t like a squishy heart, it was crystalline. So, it seems like the theory we came to last night after I did Detect Thoughts on her, it seems that she has forcibly had her memories taken from her and that her magic comes from whatever part was taken and that’s why she doesn’t currently have access to it”
J looks pissed off that someone would do such a thing to someone
M adds “The page that we found, that had the ritual circle on it that was in my former home, Moritha was able to tell me that it was a Solvexis Circle and apparently it was created by a lost pantheon of gods” The group all take a moment to look at each other, processing what was just said
M says that she was able to get in touch with Korbus and ask him about it and he told her that it sounds like something Xiranatos would know about and also adds “I would suggest we look out for other champions anyway, but it sounds like the two we should be looking out for are Nozzinth who he said was the one in charge, which I remember Sylvara saying was the giant sea otter, so any champions of his or any champions of Xiranatos. Oh, and apparently the ring also had a solvexis circle in it and apparently it has a lot of power, it can be used to trap people, all sorts of things that didn’t sound good. I think Moritha said there’s rumours that it was fuelled by trapped souls. So, I am still processing the fact that that was on my finger for 10 years”
There is a moment of silence that is broken by B saying “Anyway, want something that will cheer you up?” M replies “It depends, could you give me a heads up?” B says “Oh I can give you a heads up” then claps his hands twice, summoning the mage hand to re-enter the room with the decapitated head of Zalthea while looking very pleased with himself. M golf claps
He sends it on a lap around the room, causing Gen to swat at it with a broom before it heads back down to his room
M asks if he’s going to keep that in his room and he says he had plans
M asks what happened, if the plans worked and Xeranova and everyone are safe
B says, “The plan worked, but we killed her before it kicked in” M follows up asking if they found anything else and if they got to speak to X
B says she was nearly dead, but she’s not nearly dead anymore, K adds that everyone is doing fine now
M asks if there was anything that could have provoked this particular violent outburst, they tell her that X did go to the Blackthorns for help and that they seem to be in on it and informed Zalthea of this
M sighs and says “God Damn it! I knew it. The second

Alaric asked where the guards were after that first attack, I had a suspicion. I’ve had interactions with them before, and they are not great”

M says she wants to go to the library and that she promised Moritha she’d picks up a few things for her and that she also wanted to follow up with Thalos about the Heartspike Jackrabbit and looks to K to join her. She also adds that she would like to stop by and see if X is up to talking
B says to K “I saw you rooting around in that corpse, you find anything interesting?” K nods and pulls out the Stormhide Cloak, Thunderforged Bracers and the spellbook containing the Teleportation Circle
M grabs the spell “pamphlet” and has a look through it
M asks if there were any plans, diaries, letters or anything that might give them more information about the plans or locations of the others, they say they didn’t find anything of the sort
M ponders why she was working with them as she didn’t seem like she was all that loyal or good at following orders
M says she has a suspicion where the permanent teleportation circle would be set up, that she suspects that were she to go through it, it would take her “home”
B says, “Wait a minute, didn’t you say the other circle was fuelled by souls?” M says that’s one of the theories and B adds “Isn’t there some kind of big arena hullabaloo thing being built? Like some kind of festival” Referring to Draekos’ project
M says she’s not seeing the connection, b says “What a great way to get a lot of souls in one place” M asks if B is suggesting Draekos is in on it B says he doesn’t know but he feels like the timing of everything raises questions
M says she very much doubts Draekos would be in on it, but Blen would be more than delighted to ruin his plans
C says he follows B’s logic and “Why wouldn’t they use what he’s got going on over there to fuel something going on over here. Even if he’s not involved in it, he could be an unwilling participant”
M comments again that Blen would take immense joy in fucking over Draekos and C adds that it sounds like it’s a two way street, that they would both like to mess up each other's plans and M adds that she was already planning on going to him for help, that he’s already stood up to Blen for her once
M asks Althea if she would be willing to accompany her to visit him, they probably don’t have time for it today and tomorrow morning she was hoping to perform at The Iron Pit and try to gather information while there
B says he won’t be going because he doesn’t want to be around nobility and M says she doesn’t either, then quickly subtly shoots a glance to G, knowing her background to say, “present company excluded” (18 deception)
B doesn’t notice (nat 1) but K picks up on it (perception 19) and is able to glean that G might be from nobility and in unbothered
K says she would also like to go to The Luminous Tome, B says he would like to go check the farmhouse where they found signs of Lunae the previous night and G would like to send a letter to her uncle so they decide G, K and M will go to the bathhouse, the library and The Scarlet Spire with B, C, J and Althea head to the farmhouse.
While everyone was talking, K was able to examine the loot and figure out what it does
M gives B a bardic
M holds on to the spell book, B takes a bracers and M says if no one else is taking the cloak she will take it

The Farmhouse

Corvin and Althea lead J and B to the farmhouse (16 perception) B notices the same 5 guards that they encountered on the bridge, they clock him, and B pretends he didn’t see them (14 deception)
One of the guards points out B and scan the group before settling back down
Pass through orchard and get to a small farmhouse
C goes to investigate some things he didn’t get to investigate last night and heads off into the corn field
Althea ushers them into the house
Althea says she did contact the local authorities (the Blackthorns) but they haven’t come by yet obviously
B casts Find Traps and feels that there is a trap somewhere in the house feels like there’s something that will break a bottle of poison
B sees the body is untouched, but two windows are broken (12 investigation) sees the body in a weird position and Althea says that’s not how the body was when they left so someone has come by
B checks the ceiling and doesn’t find anything
B investigates the body to see if it’s trapped (nat 20 investigation) giving it a close look and not touching it, seeing a crude trap with two bottles with dark brownish green liquid
It's so poorly done that he just removes the two Bottle of Noxious Fumes and keeps
B flips the body over and sees scorch marks and a hole in the chest and a missing heart, looking like a large hand reached in and ripped it out
B remembers seeing a heart in a straw hat in Zalthea’s room
J is looking at family portraits and says there was a family who lived there, a husband, wife and 2 kids
B searches for the two kids in the portraits and follows a trail out to a granary, finding the two kids asleep and clutching each other, looking exhausted and distraught
B crouches down next to them and gently wakes them trying not to startle them
They look to be a 3 and 6 year old
J is crouching beside him, and B tells the kids they’re safe now and asks what happened
The 6 year old boy says “After the monster killed our dad and the lady took mum, they didn’t see us or hear us, it sounded like there was a storm outside but there was no rain and we ran over here to hide and we thought we heard them coming but there was an argument and we weren’t sure and they went further into the forest that way” He points to the forest
B calls over Althea and asks her to take the kids of The Radiant Hall so he can follow the trail and keep the kids safe and away from the faux guards
Althea picks up the young girl and takes the boy by the hand saying she will see them later and heads back to the radiant hall the long way around to avoid the guards
The rest continue to follow Lunae’s trail

Gwinri, Kree and Micarafae

The Scarlet Spire

G, K and M head to the scarlet spire and walk in to meet a Human woman at one of the counters
She asks what G’s business is, she says she wants to send a letter and pays 5 silver for standard delivery

The Silver Hourglass Bathhouse & Spa

M K and G walk to the bathhouse, see a closed sign but the door is destroyed
M heads in, seeing the consequences of Zalthea’s rampage and people tidying up
K goes to check on everyone who was hurt and see how they’re doing, checking on the human guard first
She finds him surrounded by the staff asking if he’s ok, he notices here and says she’s the one who saved him who cheer for her
He introduces himself as Varsinsil
They start asking K questions about the fight and ask what kind of fighter she is, K says she’s a druid and someone says that there’s a druid in town and it’s supposed to be a secret, and they debate whether it’s the grocer or the jeweller
K says she just wanted to check on everyone, Vars extends a hand and thanks her

Xeranova’s Room

M Finds Lianis and Taryth and asks them where X is, the llok at each other then back to M and one says “She’s indisposed” M says “So I hear. Would it be possible for me to see her?” one of the twins says “You’re with that dragon guy, right? The hero?” M affirms, rolling her eyes a little Lianis blushes at the mention of B and Taryth says “Yeah, just make sure no one’s following us”
Taryth walks past Lianis with M as Lianis says “He even left the body for us upstairs” in a dreamy voice. M responds, “That’s a good thing” and Lianis says “I guess”
Taryth leads Me to behind the stairwell and starts to work the mechanism to open the door, M doesn’t quite catch the entire process of opening it (perception 15)
M walks in to see an extravagant room and X asleep in the bed who stirs upon hearing M enter and sighs before saying “Hello? Trying to sleep here” M responds, “This almost puts my previous housing to shame” X opens one eye to look at M and seems pleasantly surprised
X sits herself up in the bed, leaning against the headboard and asks, “Who let you in?” M says one of the twins, X says “they’re told not to let anyone in but there are special circumstances. I just never thought I’d have so many people in this room in one day”
M says, “New record for you?” X replies “Yes, actually, it is” M says “Well, I’m honoured to among them” and X replies “All your friends had a taste. Anyway, what brings you here” M says she wanted to check how she was doing, and X gives her a genuine smile before saying “Do you have a moment” and points for M to sit on the bed, which she does
X says “You know, I thought there’d be a price I must pay for distracting the best, I just didn’t think it would almost be my life. M says she’s glad it wasn’t
X looks somber for a moment before asking if they’ve cleaned her blood upstairs, M says she hasn’t looked, and X replies “I’d prefer you don’t”
X says “But I’m glad to be alive. I’m still feeling, the best way I can describe it is phantom pain. My wounds are healed, but I can still feel it, you know?” and touches where she was scorched by Zalthea
While she’s talking, M reaches out to the tear in her dress over her chest and uses mending and prestidigitation to repair and clean it. X grabs her hand and presses it over the hole and gives her a wry smile
M blushes and gets flustered, sliding her hand out from under hers and X lets out a disappointed sounding “Hm.”
M tries to think what that means (21 insight) and is going over and over in her head whether X is flirting or not and doubting herself, but keeps settling on the thought that it seems like X wants to “play” a little more but there are more pressing matters to tend to so she has to put that aside even though she was genuinely enjoying herself
M trying to quickly change the subject says, “I heard you went to The Blackthorns then?” X says “Yes, well what can I say except that I don’t think I would trust them. Not for a while” M interrupts to say “Having had dealing with them, I would never trust them. In fact, you kind of proved my theory that they were in on that, so thanks for that, if that’s any consolation?” X nods along, listening
X says “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I feel like if we’re going to trust anyone in town, we might have to go to the other noble house, unless we venture outside of town, which is the preferred choice” M says “We were actually already planning on going to pay Draekos a visit X replies “Oh we were going to go visit the dragon prince were we?”
M says “It’s not my favourite idea, but we have some worry that whatever he’s doing over there might be the target of something” X says “Well if you want, I can do one of two things, I can write you a letter that, or I can accompany you if you’d like” M says she was already going to ask if she’d like to join them
X says “Splendid! A trip it is. I can take care of the arrangements to get there, if you leave that in my care, that is.” M says it sounds like a plan and X announces that they will travel in style before proclaiming that this calls for a new wardrobe
M notices a glimpse of her walk-in wardrobe and wants to venture into it
X says “I don’t have anything your size, I’m sorry, but like I said, we should go to The Golden Stitch” M says “That was the plan. Lady Jineyih would like some more comfortable clothes, she’s wearing my coat at the moment” X smiles and says “It’s a date then”

Starlight Lounge

G finds Garrin coming down the stairs from helping to clean up and he greets her
G asks how he’s holing up and Garrin says “Well y’know, for a rampaging Minotaur lady, like we’ve got most things under control. I mean, your friend, did he come with you?” G says he didn’t, and Garrin Continues “I wanna thank him again personally because I’m pretty sure he saved my life. He’s a hero y’know, the girls are all talking about him!” G asks if he needs any help moving anything and he says, “The only thing left is the body upstairs.” G comments that she needs to ask M what they want to do with the body
Garrin says “One of the guys down in maintenance was saying we could tweak the water to make it like, dissolve the body, y’know like, make it acidic, but we’ve never done that before so I dunno ‘bout that one” G says “Thinking about that doesn’t make me like water any more than I already don’t”
Garrin says “It’s kind of crazy, but it’s a magical bathhouse, so they think they can make it almost any liquid, but we’ve never done it”
Garrin asks if G is free later tonight, she says she is, and he blushes and looks down saying “Really? I mean like, uh, if you want to, um, I was thinking that maybe we could y’know, go out?” She says she’d love to, and he gets a big goofy smile on his face and says “Excellent! Where can I meet you?” G says probably at Genevieve’s Inn, he says he knows where that is and leans in to whisper “Do you guys like stay there every night? That’s a pretty pricey place” G says they do, and he says “I mean, you could stay at The Jolly Jackalope, but they don’t always have the... they don’t always attract the best crowd, y’know what I’m saying”
Before G can say anything else he says, “By the way, what’s your favourite colour?” She says probably blue, and he looks over her, seeing she’s wearing blue and says “Shoulda known, makes sense!” The looks like he wants to go in for a hug but doesn’t know if he should go for a handshake or a high five. G gives him a hug, he feels warm and smells nice

M says, “I do have a question for you” X nods for her to continue and she says “You’ve never told me how you know me” X asks what she did say and M says that when she said she’s been around Ravenswood Bluffs it was implied that it was something related to that
X says “Well, did I tell you that I enjoy masquerade balls?” M says she doesn’t believe so X continues saying “One of these days you’ll see one of those dresses, but I don’t think I’ve missed one of the dragon prince’s masquerades since he’s come into his own over there” M says “I did go to one, I assume that’s where you’re leading?” X confirms and M says “That was quite the day”
X says “Back then I used to care more about knowledge, because knowledge is power, and I used to do almost anything to get the juiciest information” M nods with recognition as X continues “Well sometimes it was through my charms and sometimes it was through magic sometimes it was through just good old fashioned charm” and looks wistfully off for a moment before looming back to M
X says, “Well things are different now, for both of us, right?” M agrees
X says “Well, I am here to help, I have changed since those days. My real question is, your ex-husband, do you know if he has changed one way or another?” M says “It’s hard to say whether he’s changed or I’m now just seeing his true colours”
At first M thought Maybe X knows more than she’s letting on about Blen, but then she starts to think what if she has some ledger or something about all the information she may have gathered from back then, maybe she knows more than she’s telling, maybe X is lying to her. Or she’s telling the truth, M cannot tell, but she has soft eyes and a smile (insight 12 rerolled with inspiration to nat 1)
M pauses before looking at her and asking, “What do you know?” X says “I haven’t been keeping tabs on him since the two of you were last here but I do know that he had dealings, well maybe not he himself, but someone from his entourage had come to visit my establishment, it was a man” M asks if it was an Elf or human, X says “human, does that change things?” and M raises an eyebrow
X continues “I was never able to get the information, one of the girls who was working that night mysteriously disappeared when I went to question her the next day. Happens too much in Ravenswood”
M asks X if this person was in the house when she was and she says probably and M says “The only person that was a human male in his inner circle is Ralven Drakemere, who’s not normally one to leave” M describes Ralven to X, saying he’s 6’2 with dark hair and grey eyes.
X says “That is close to my recollection, sadly, I wish I could say that any of the staff I had on then I still have on now, but sadly most of them have changed, you see a lot of young faces around here now”
M says, “It’s really rare for Ralven to be away from the house” and X asks “Is his appearance monumentally shifting how you picture things” M says “I’m just wondering what his business here would have been”
X asks, “What was his loyalty to your ex-husband?” M says “He basically ran the house, he was in charge of all the servants and making sure that carriages were books and events were planned and everything and he was kind of brutal in his means of ensuring efficacy” X says “So it is a shock if he’s not at the home?” M affirms
X asks, “Do you think his appearance here, unbeknownst to you was a set up for something that might be paying dividends now?” M replies “Based on information I got today, I would say that would not at all be surprising. I am almost certain that Blen is involved in this”
X looks a bit confused and says “I wish I had kept up with my old habits. It’s just so taxing to take notes on everything, you know?” M taps the book in her pocket and says “Yeah, I feel that” X continues “I used to do a lot more of this stuff myself you know. Before I kind of, spread the wealth, so to say, and let some others in. I used to run this floor almost myself” M says it sounds like a lot of work and X says “Well, it’s fairly easy when you mostly successfully charm every person that comes in. They all play by the rules when you tell them to” and looks a little sad
M gets the vibe that she doesn’t like charming people anymore, she doesn’t get a thrill out of controlling people through her abilities, she’d rather charm someone with her words than with a touch. )22 insight)
M puts her hand on X’s and nods to say she can understand the feeling
X gives her a smile and says “Thank you, genuinely. Alright well, what are you off to next?”
M says “We are off to the library to try and find some information about some weird occult shit” X says “Well, if you find anything juicy, bring it back to me” M says of course
As M stands up to leave, she says “I just wanted to offer I know spirits are probably a bit shaken around here and people could probably do with a bit of cheering up. If you would allow me, I would be more than happy to play a bit of music, try to raise spirits” X looks ecstatic and says “We could through a little party! Excellent, I have a dress for that too” M says “I have a ballgown, but I don’t have a party dress”
X says “We can figure that out. Alright, well we have two options, we party in a couple days, or we party after we save this town” M thinks for a bit before saying “Why not both?”
X steeples her hands and starts planning saying “Oh yes, and Garrin could make that special drink. Hmm, do you think Garrin would want to attend, and not work? Probably...” M says, “I think he would be quite happy to spend some time with a certain Dwarf” X says, “They are cute, aren’t they?” M agrees and says “She blushes every time I mention him” X replies “That is so goddamn cute”
X says “Alright, we have so many plans, you and I, we have shopping, we are fighting, we have parties, we’ll have to figure this out”
M says she spoke to J and she would be happy to speak to X. X says “I did want to speak to her for a couple reasons. She isn’t with you now, is she?” M says “No, she’s gone with Bruzrik to try and track down Lunae” X jokingly says “Oh, our intrepid hero! You know it was our feathered friend who saved Vars, they all think it was the big dragon” M says “He does draw a lot of attention” X says “Well, he holds it well”
M says “On the Topic of Bruzrik, I have to say I am most impressed that you seem to have earned his respect” X says “Oh did I? I’ll have to have a dance with him at the party. Excellent” M says “Don’t tell him I told you this, but the first time we came here he pulled me aside and said “do not let that woman come near me, so you’ve raised quite a bit in his esteem” X says “I almost regret not charming him a second time. Interesting he is”
