The Durstwood

The Durstwood is the primary woods found in the western portion of Percens and is the main source of lumber for most of the continent.  This also makes it one of the main sources of income for the kingdoms of the Free Lands of Men.  Because of this, several of the kingdoms have adopted a program of selective harvesting and replanting to ensure the woods are there to support resources and income for generations to come.
While there are small tribes of Wood Elves that live within the Durstwood, the primary inhabitants are The Wildmen of the Durstwood, known across the world for their fierce independence and prowess in battle.  One of the reasons for this is the fact that deepest part of the forest is also home to many different malevolent races that they often come into conflict with.  Unlike the Elves of the Great Forest or the Elven Grove, the Wildmen believe these creatures have as much right to their section of the woods as they do, and thus have not hunted then down in an attempt to eliminate the threat they pose.
