The Rupture
Summary
The planet's core was once a powerful one, raw untapped potential in a technologically advanced universe so tempting it pulled from all corners of the expanse to war for it's control. Yes indeed, even across other planets, or so the stories go anyway.
So much war, so many clever minds with their weapons of immense destruction, the lands suffered and so did the people upon it. It's hard to say if what happened next was a choice, an accident or a coincidence.
But the planet's core gave out, exploded... ruptured.
It took with it a great number of the gatherings of war and half the lands, leaving behind a planet reshaped into that of a ring.
True devastation that shook the world, and shook the universe - for a planet had died, in a way.
As if this weren't enough, the event sparked The Core War immediately after to take place on the planet's remains, leaving it a razed battleground and civilisation to start over.
