The Core War
Immediately following The Rupture, all the deities - those who'd retreated to Mitokosia and those that had formed within the lands since - began their own war over the effects of such a thing, that mortals could cause the death of a being as powerful and ancient as a planet.
For a handful of the deities wished to wipe the slate clean, to start again and do it better (and if that included making mortals suffer first, then by their domain's nature, all the better), after all, if they knew they could cause such destruction accidentally, what was stopping them from doing so on purpose. First the Animalian King, and now this? When does it end?
But most other deities disagreed, that it was for the mortals to make their own choices in the world they'd made for them, that they could learn from the experience and become better, and that knowledge would be lost if they were to restart every time something went wrong.
In other words, it was a war for life and death of all mortals and the world as they knew it. And it was a devastating war that took part on the planet's ring remains surface through divine avatars and chosen champions. What was left of the planet essentially became a razed battleground. Very little of what remained from the original planet's lands survived, and even less of the people who remembered the true histories. So much knowledge ended up lost anyway, and so the planet and civilisation started again on the ruins of lost and destroyed knowledge, magic and technology.
Named as such, The Core War, in current day for it's generally told that the war that created the current world was the result of wars over their planet's core.
