The Protista King
Of all the Cores, the Life Cores are closer to a 'being' than the others - feelings, forming bonds and creating a sort of persona - perhaps because of their links to and of life. They are responsible for all sorts of life on the planets according to different biology.
The Protista King is essentially the Bacteria Core, he is the oldest of the 4 'siblings' and perhaps embodies, perhaps created, all that is small and single celled.
Eventually his younger brother, The Animalian King would go on to become a mortal during a time of heavy war. Fearing for his beloved brother, he and his sister The Plantae Queen would give up their current forms, scattering or changing their essence (who's to say) in order to give a few mortals power to aid; the power of nature in something called 'magic'. This created The Magic Thread and allowed for the first druids to rise.
