The Day Coast by the Salt Sea

South of Duskshore, known for it's many sun hours and it's nightkin people who are of a breed almost immune to the negative effects of direct sunlight. This generally applies to the 'green hobgoblin' who make up most of the population, apart from the humans, naturally. The Priesthood of Soleh are ruling through an assembly of earls and dukes.

A desert wilderness for the most part, the lower topology layer is a half a meter of salt instead of sand, coloring the rocks.

The Salt and the Tide

The high tide floods the landscape and creates inland lakes. This is the lowlands: islands with a lake bottom of half a meter of solid salt. Periodically, the crust dries at the peak of low tide under the daylight, causing flakes of salt to blow around in the breeze, northwards.

This salt layer is filled up again during high tide.

The moon is seldom glimpsed in the sky, but when it is, it rivals the three domes of the City of Glarion skyline (as seen from the central terrace there!). And when you see it, it is a sign high tide is pending. This is when you, unless actually on the central terrace or it's connected platforms, have to run for high ground.

When the low tide sea starts to pull back, ensure you and your loved ones are ABOVE the Salt Line. It is visible in the rocks and faces of structures all around you.

The Wilderness

The primary roads in wilderness (of limestone imported from the north-west) are built one meter above the Salt Line, and in effect safe from the Tide. In other places, especially by the coast, roads are de facto piers, floating you safely above the Line.

Expect to experience narrow meandering rivers at low tide and straight rifts in the mountains (fjords) at high tide.

The Capital

Glarion, the City of the Sun.
