Duskshore is a duchy of Meriodarr, under Glarion rule, that lies in the shadow of the Sun Shield crag mountains (at the end of the Z that 'break the heart'), bordering to The Crags in the west, the Sun Coast in the south, Salt Islands east across the Salt Sea, and Silver Snake Valley in the north. Duskshore shares the border of Tochs Strait with Ponta in the north- east. On a rare clear day, the towers of the foreign city of Tochimonus can be seen from across the Strait. Strong currents mostly forbid direct trade with Tochimonous, but use trade routes via the Salt Islands. Apart from traffic between Glarion, via the Crags, the duchy's own mining towns of the Sun Shield mountains, and the Salt Islands by sea, Duskshore is isolated. Commoners here have only heard of the islands and the capital city of Glarion, but Ponta or the other realms exist only in myths.

The region is veiled in darkness so often that trees don't grow much, and grass is yellow. Some plants rare elsewhere grow here, such as the pale moonflower.

Population is mostly orc and human, but thanks to the long nights other nightkin are also common. Orcs have risen to a higher caste than elsewhere on the continent and mixed kin with humans more often than not.

Coppaville by Duskfort Bay

The mayor of the town is a full blood orc. Toem is in his late sixties, a reader of myths and legends, and crippled. He has a wooden wheelchair adorned with copper spires mirroring those of his Duskfort - a castle that houses more people than the town itself, and they are all his servants.

'Coppa' is slang for Copper, from its use in copper-roof buildings and towers, even windmills, lamp posts, and hats!

Magic taught in the region is themed around the fog that pours in from the Day Coast in the south (yes, they have longer days and a scorching sun), and the shadows of night, respectively.

Behind the Duskfort, north up the cliff-plateau, lies in a cleft, the only true forest. Even though the Cliffwood sees daytime more than the rest of the region, the shadow lies deep under the trees and it is said that Toem hired killers to rest there in the daytime.

Adventures

Apart from different power figures (main NPCs) opposing one another and their intrigues that can be used to play around, there is an adventure concerning wrongfully arrested emissaries from a foreign state, accused of being imposters ...
