Omegians

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

Industry

Though ill remembered, most omegians agree that they served as labourers in the Pearl's ship building efforts.
Omegians are aware of their initial spacefaring intentions, just not on the specifics of what they did, nor how they collectively arrived at their current state. However, they do recall enough technical expertise to jerrybuild seagoing vessels, shelters and the occasional airworthy crafts.

Common Dress code

Biomechanics

Omegians are essentially mutated humans with additional systems integrated through a fusion of organic cells with wires and motors. Organic material grafted within the mechanical elements create biohybrid actuators and interlinked organs that are resilient and flexible. Elements include:
  • Silicon parts coated in heart muscules
  • Golden skeletons surrounded by nerves
  • Water soluble polymers that connect electric signals
  • Protein producing cells that divert radiation
  • Flexible glass skin/clothes for durability

Art & Architecture

Floating Spires

Along the shear edges of Puritan, a line of sea spires are eroded by the waves, and turned into small homesteads by traveling omegians.   All the spires were once apart of the main continent before falling away. However, they remain standing erect; with one part above the surface and the rest submerged. They all have an unusual but consistent shape: a very long and slender tower, with a bulbous middle and sharp ends at the top and bottom.   They are incredibly well balanced; and buoyant enough to remain upright, even as they float away from the coast and inevitably sink in the deep ocean.

Foods & Cuisine

Synthesis

Due to inhabiting a stripped-mined planet, omegians need to plan any action they take conservatively. The omegians are effectively immortal: possessed of unchanging bodies, lacking predation and not needing to breathe. Everyone is capable of drawing their prerequisite energy from source of water, vibrations and the sun (when available).

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Primitive

Though omegians remain as advance synthetics, much of their habitats are ramshackled from the parts they can acquire from sea-bound kappas. They are incapable of cutting, melting or otherwise reshaping the kappa parts; so must fit them as they are like puzzle pieces as best they can.

Common Taboos

Interregnum

It is not fully clear, but more than half of the last wave of lambians who were able to cross through their planetary portal to their directive fell out of contact with the rest.   As a result, this population of transmigrants are permanently cut off for the rest of humanity. Most have actively sought to forget.
There is little hope left in expecting recovery. The factories are gone, the planets are gone and the pearls are gone. We are abandoned of whatever purpose we had.   That knowledge is always there. Somewhere in the mind. But if you stop thinking out it, your processors will file it away deep and it will be as if you have forgotten.

Common Myths and Legends

Holes in the Floor

Throughout the planet's surface, there are gargantuan holes that maintain perfectly circular dimensions for several kilometers deep towards Enuma Elish's core.   Each hole is encircled by an irremovable and unworkable rim of brown metal, in a land devoid of metals. Depending on if the holes lie over the earth or over the ocean, the locals would incorporate shanty towns or improvised docks around them.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Androgynous

Most omegians are tall, metallic and faceless. The sufaces from the neck down either have a pitted texture or a braided topology where loopy handles can emerge at various sizes. The face area is generally kept as clean and shiny as is feasible to maintain their environmental awareness.

Relationship Ideals

Units

Omegians are neither cooperative nor hostile with one another, existing in a delicate balance between independence and indifference. They navigate their existence with a sense of individualism, each pursuing their own goals and desires without actively seeking collaboration or conflict. While they may coexist in the same spaces, their interactions are marked by a certain detached neutrality, prioritizing personal autonomy over collective endeavors.
